This research deals with the question o f the promotion of local handicrafts in the province of Elhajeb, through a collective point of sale. Our first objective is to paint an explicit portrait of the current situation of artisanal activities and marketing practices for these products in the Amjrar area. In the background, we intend, based on the results drawn from the documentary proposed, to conceive a small project meticulously planned, capable of putting an end to a problem that exhausts many craftswomen , that of marketing, and to promote a possible tourist dynamic in favor of Ain Amjrar. The problem is therefore as follows: "How can we improve profitability and reduce the production costs of these craftswomen, generated by travel costs for marketing?" To respond to the problem, two levels of treatment were involved. First, on a theoretical level, we were supposed to define the conditions of artisanal production, and to define the current state of marketing products. Then, on the practical level, we procee d to the realization of a collective point of sale, which will have the statute of artisanal cooperative, whose goal of initially grouping together twenty craftswomen in a process of permanent collective sale, allowing to put value the local product, to cut the way for the opportunists who exploit the ignorance and poverty of these craftswomen, and ultimately to create direct contact between tourists and craftswomen. The reader will find here a detailed presentation of the methodological elements and the pe rspective pursued, he will also find the detailed results on the marketing conditions, as well as the highlights. Ultimately, the SWOT analysis allowed us to highlight the advantages and disadvantages, to establish a feasible, effective and thoughtful project

Performance Evaluation of Energy Detector Based Spectrum Sensing for Cognitive Radio using NI USRP-2930

    Get PDF
This paper presents the performance evaluation of the Energy Detector technique, which is one of the most popular Spectrum Sensing (SS) technique for Cognitive Radio (CR). SS is the ability to detect the presence of a Primary User (PU) (i.e. licensed user) in order to allow a Secondary User (SU) (i.e unlicensed user) to access PU's frequency band using CR, so that the available frequency bands can be used efficiently. We used for implementation an Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP), which is the most used Software Defined Radio (SDR) device for research in wireless communications. Experimental measurements show that the Energy Detector can obtain good performances in low Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) values. Furthermore, computer simulations using MATLAB are closer to those of USRP measurements

Techno-economic Analysis of a Wind-Diesel Hybrid Power System in the South Algeria

The electrical energy is often produced with the help of diesel generators in isolated areas in the Saharan region. While the latter requiring relatively little investment because is generally expensive to exploit due to the transportation to remote areas adds extra cost, significant fuel consumption and relatively high maintenance cost, etc. Moreover, the electricity production by the diesel is ineffective, presents significant environmental risks. But these isolated areas have significant wind energy potential; which is good position for the exploitation of clean and sustainable wind energy. The use of wind-diesel power system is widely recommended especially to reduce fuel consumption and in this way to reduce system operating costs and environmental impact. The subject of this paper is to present the techno-economic analysis of a wind-diesel hybrid power system. In this context, the contribution envisaged with this research is to collaborate on the optimal design of a hybrid power system including a wind turbine generator, a diesel generator and an energy storage system for powering a continuous way an isolated site in the South Algerian installed power of 120 kW.This system has a high control strategy for the management of different power sources (wind, diesel, battery) that depending to weather conditions, especially wind speed values and the power demanded by the consumer load

Shame, Identity, and Socio-Emotional Behavioral Regulation

This research aimed to study the effects of ‘anti-sexist’ shaming on men and how they would, as a result, regulate their behavior in future cross-sex interactions. The research hypothesized that each of the behaviors listed in the literature on shame (hostility, pro-sociality, and passing) is linked to different sexist attitudes, as per Glick and Fiske’s (1996) Ambivalent Sexism Theory. More specifically, it was hypothesized that hostile sexists would likely select aggressive responses in the questionnaire, benevolent sexists would likely employ passing, and non-sexists would be the most likely to engage in prosocial behavior. In this research, a double-blind, post-test only control group experimental design in the form of a survey-experiment was employed. The questionnaire was handed out via a random recruitment of an all-male sample on The American University in Cairo’s (AUC) New Cairo campus. Independent T-tests, reliability, correlational, and linear regression analyses were performed on the collected data. The hypotheses could not be accepted within the context of the data collected. This research managed to introduce a causal link between passing and shame in the literature as a viable response to shame, and secondly to bolster Gausel et al.’s (2012) conceptualization and differentiation of shame from felt inferiority. Adjusting the methodological flaws of this study and expanding it might prove to bridge the gaps and mend some of the contradictions in the psychological literature on shame

DOCUMENT TEXT DETECTION IN VIDEO FRAMES ACQUIRED BY A SMARTPHONE BASED ON LINE SEGMENT DETECTOR AND DBSCAN CLUSTERING

Automatic document text detection in video is an important task and a prerequisite for video retrieval, annotation, recognition, indexing and content analysis. In this paper, we present an effective and efficient model for detecting the page outlines within frames of video clip acquired by a Smartphone. The model consists of four stages: In the first stage, all line segments of each video frame are detected by LSD method. In the second stage, the line segments are grouped into clusters using the DBSCAN clustering algorithm, and then a prior knowledge is used in order to discover the cluster of page document from the background. In the third and fourth stages, a length and an angle filtering processes are performed respectively on the cluster of line segments. Finally a sorting operation is applied in order to detect the quadrilateral coordinates of the document page in the input video frame. The proposed model is evaluated on the ICDAR 2015 Smartphone Capture OCR dataset. Experimental results and comparative study show that our model can achieve encouraging and useful results and works efficiently even under different classes of documents

Risk Assessment of a Sample of Securities in Casablanca Stock Exchange

The management of financial risks, which is a branch of financial theory, is defined as a process that begins with risk factors identification, continues with measurement of risk and concludes with the coverage of that risk. This work focuses on the second phase of management process, namely the measurement of risk. This can be defined as an uncertainty which has an impact on the wealth and can be measured by different ways. Indeed, it is possible to distinguish, for each risk category, a set of evaluation methods (for example: the semi-variance for equity risk, the convexity degrees for risk associated with bonds and Value-at-Risk (VaR) for the global risk of portfolio). The use of measurement risk in a portfolio of securities is necessary as far as it facilitates the understanding of theoretical concepts and the use of mathematical formulas.Risk, variance, semi-variance, profitability, risk shortfall, VaR, mean absolute deviation, coefficient of systematic risk

E-learning is part of information and communication technologies for education (ICTE) and allows teaching without the presence of the teacher or learner. This ‘non-presential’ character has clearly shown the place of this form of teaching in situations where we cannot be physically present, such as during the Covid-19 crisis.  In such a situation, distance education has become the only way to providing education and training for all levels and types of institutions, while ensuring the protection of health. The examination of the choice of this mode of teaching will therefore arise as a necessity in order to show the degree of its success as a strategy of resilience to adopt in the face of potential crises. From these considerations, the importance of this work derives its legitimacy. the purpose of this paper is to determine first, to what extent we can consider E-learning as a resilience strategy according to the perception of the actors of the Moroccan university, and second, to identify the factors that influence this perception. The data used in this article were collected through 127 answers to a questionnaire consisting of several questions, where each question reveals to an explanatory variable taken from the literature review or deemed to have a logical link with the variable explained, distributed electronically to actors of Moroccan higher education. The response database is treated by SPSS under the logistic regression model. The choice of the Moroccan context demonstrates the originality of the work and, at the same time, it constitutes the main limitation of this work, by limiting the generalizability of the results to other contexts or cultures. The results show that distance learning can be a resilience strategy that needs to evolve.   Keywords: Resilience – E-learning – Higher Education – Vulnerability – Covid-19. JEL Classification: O33, I23, D83. Paper type: Empirical research. Identification Of Collapsible Soils In Deroua (Morocco)

    Get PDF
Deroua belongs to the Berrechid plain and it is characterized generally by a flat relief, formations from the quaternary and Pliocene age and unconformably on sedimentary formations of Cretaceous and Permian Triassic on shcists from the primaries. Several anomalies were detected in the buildings and pavement structures in different cities in the territory of the Berrechid plain, such as settlement, cracking or even sudden collapses. The presence of a water table with 1500 square kilometers in area, the climatology of the region and a major urban development are factors favoring collapsing soils. Thus, we conducted a series of geotechnical tests on four samples taken from Deroua, 10 km from the city of Berrechid to identify the nature of the soils of this city in order to study their behavior in unsaturated state. The results of Atterberg limits and the oedometer test, correlated with results of previous studies and bibliographical research confirm the hypothesis of collapsible soils. Therefore, the results will help to quantify and map the collapse of soils in Deroua, in order to establish a local hazards map that can be exploited by the urban agency
