Coming to Grips with the ESP Enterprise: Some Basic Tenets and Fundamental Issues

The present paper is an attempt to demystify the basic tenets related to the ESP enterprise. Its main goal is to familiarize the reader with the nature of ESP, the role of NA as the cornerstone of any ESP program, and some of the implication of NA and the agents they essentially bear on. These agents, nevertheless, may at times come to mismatch in regard to the perceived needs of the ESP learners; we will endeavor to tackle some suggested ways in this mismatch can be handled

Measurement of ttH(H→bb) production in the semi-leptonic tt decay channel at the CMS Experiment

A measurement of the production of a Higgs boson in association with a top quark-antiquark pair and the subsequent decay of the Higgs boson to a bottom quark-antiquark pair ($\text{t}\bar{\text{t}}\text{H}(\text{H}\rightarrow \text{b}\bar{\text{b}})$) at a center-of-mass energy of $13\,\text{TeV}$ is presented. The measurement focuses on the semileptonic decay channel of the top quark-antiquark pair and is based on proton-proton collision data recorded by the CMS Experiment in the years 2016 and 2017 corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $77.4\,\text{fb}^{-1}$. The cross section for the production of a Higgs boson in association with a top quark-antiquark pair ($\text{t}\bar{\text{t}}\text{H}$) depends on the top-Higgs Yukawa coupling and a measurement of $\text{t}\bar{\text{t}}\text{H}$ production provides direct access to this important property of the standard model of particle physics. To achieve the measurement of this process, candidate $\text{t}\bar{\text{t}}\text{H}(\text{H}\rightarrow \text{b}\bar{\text{b}})$ events are first selected from the analyzed data. Artificial neural networks are then used to construct observables that allow the discrimination between signal and background processes. To extract the signal contribution in data, standard model predictions for these observables are fit to data using a profile likelihood approach. This results in a best-fit value for the signal strength relative to the standard model prediction $\mu = \sigma/\sigma_{\text{SM}}$ of \begin{equation} \hat{\mu} = 1.22^{+0.41}_{-0.37}({\text{tot.}}) \left[{}^{+0.19}_{-0.19}({\text{stat.}}) {}^{+0.36}_{-0.32}({\text{syst.}}) \right]. \end{equation} This result is compatible with the standard model prediction and corresponds to an observed (expected) significance of $3.3$ ($2.7$) standard deviations with respect to the background-only hypothesis. In addition, combined analyses performed by the CMS Collaboration are discussed, in which analyses of various production and decay modes of the Higgs boson were statistically combined. The presented anylsis of $\text{t}\bar{\text{t}}\text{H}(\text{H}\rightarrow \text{b}\bar{\text{b}})$ production in the semileptonic channel was an important contribution to theses combinations, which resulted in the observation of $\text{t}\bar{\text{t}}\text{H}$ production and of the $\text{H}\rightarrow \text{b}\bar{\text{b}}$ decay mode

Genetic Algorithm for Vertical Handover (GAfVH)in a Heterogeneous networks

The fifth generation (5G) wireless system will deal with the growing demand of new multimedia and broadband application. The 5G network architecture is based on heterogeneous Radio Access Technologies (RATs). In such implementation the Vertical handover is a key issue. Up till now, systems are using simple mechanisms to make handover decision, based on the evaluation of the Received Signal Strength (RSS). In some cases these mechanisms are not Efficient.This paper presents a new vertical handover algorithm based on Genetic Algorithm (GAfVH). It aims to reduce the number of unnecessary handovers, and optimizes the system performance. We compare our simulation results to the Received Signal Strength (RSS) based method. The results show that the number of handovers decreases. Moreover, we demonstrate that the network selection result can differ from an application to another

Transplantation rénale entre époux et immunisation anti-HLA en prégreffe: à propos de deux observations

La transplantation rénale est la meilleure thérapeutique pour l'insuffisance rénale terminale. Cette transplantation est possible grâce au don de rein à partir d'un donneur vivant ou d'un donneur en état de mort encéphalique (EME). L'immunisation des receveurs est une vraie problématique de la greffe car elle est responsable de difficultés particulières de choix d'un donneur et surtout expose au risque de rejet de greffon. Nous allons présenter deux observations de greffe rénale entre époux, ou les deux receveurs avaient des taux faibles d'anticorps dirigés contre des antigènes HLA du donneur mais dont l'issue en post-greffe immédiat était différente selon le sexe du receveur. En effet l'immunisation anti-HLA des femmes suite aux grossesses est un vrai obstacle à leur greffe par le rein de leur époux. Malgré la faible compatibilité HLA qui caractérise la transplantation rénale entre les époux, car le donneur est ici non apparenté, cette transplantation offre une bonne alternative aux greffes de reins à partir de donneurs en EME, qui font cruellement défaut au Maroc
