Alinhamento do PMO à Gestão Organizacional: Estudo dos Elementos do PMO sob as Dimensões Estratégica, Tática e Operacional

The establishment of a Project Management Office (PMO) helps to transform the organizational culture by showing in a structured way the needs of process and governance body for generating more benefits, discipline and understanding for the organization. The challenge of the project-oriented organizations is not only the implementation of a PMO, but what type and where to allocate it in the organizational structure with regard to autonomy and power in the organization. In this context, the purpose of this article is to identify and describe the elements that contribute to the alignment of the PMO to the organizational management in strategic, tactical and operational dimensions. A systemic review of the literature allowed the formation of a theoretical framework containing the main elements in each dimension that can serve as a guide for the practice of PMO management to establish project management improvement and therefore organizational management improvement.O estabelecimento de um escritório de gerenciamento de projetos, Project Management Office (PMO), ajuda a transformar a cultura organizacional ao evidenciar, de forma estruturada, as necessidades de processos e corpo de governança gerando mais benefícios, disciplina e entendimento para a organização. O desafio de organizações orientadas a projetos não é somente a implantação de um PMO, mas qual tipo e onde alocá-lo na estrutura organizacional no que tange à autonomia e ao poder na organização. Nesse contexto, o objetivo deste artigo é identificar e descrever os elementos que contribuem o alinhamento do PMO à gestão organizacional nas dimensões estratégica, tática e operacional. A revisão sistêmica da literatura possibilitou a formação de um quadro teórico contendo principais elementos em cada dimensão que pode servir de guia para a prática da gestão do PMO ao estabelecer meios de melhoria da gestão de projetos e, por conseguinte, de gestão organizacional

A CONSTITUIÇÃO DA MASCULINIDADE

O presente artigo aborda a temática da constituição da masculinidade, enfocando esse processo dentro do período da adolescência e trazendo questões da atualidade envolvidas no declínio da função parental. Ele integra os aspectos descritos anteriormente a partir de autores clássicos e contemporâneos. Conclui-se que a atualidade, com as decorrentes mudanças na estrutura familiar, traz novos aspectos a serem levados em conta para a constituição da masculinidade. Palavras-chave: Adolescência. As emoções dos consumidores da terceira idade no processo de escolha de destinos de viagens

Emotions have great importance in purchasing decisions, however, only recently, researchers started to study them by qualitative approaches. In this context, this study sought to examine them in a still unexplored segment: elderly consumers. For this purpose, this research concentrated in a service for which they have shown a lot of interest – tourism – in order to analyze the emotions present in the choice of travel destinations and their influence on future purchasing decisions. That was done with the use of in-depth interviews aided by the Photo Elicitation Technique (PET). It was then observed that emotions affect the choice for a particular travel destination because the sensations experienced during previous trips are stored in memory and have a strong influence on future decision-making processes. This work also brings interesting contributions for future research because it investigated the occurrence of emotions in 3 separate stages of the consumption process – before, during and after the trip – and not only as just one element in this decision, as normally occurs in most researches about emotions. By demonstrating that this was a favorable decision to better understand the emotions throughout the entire purchase decision process, new paths are opened for further research with different methodological approaches.As emoções possuem grande importância para as decisões de compra, todavia, apenas há pouco se começou a estudá-las a partir de abordagens qualitativas. Nesse sentido, este estudo buscou analisá-las em um segmento ainda pouco explorado: os consumidores da terceira idade. Para isso, concentrou-se em um serviço pelo qual eles vêm demonstrando interesse – o turismo –, buscando analisar as emoções presentes no ato de escolha de destinos de viagens pela terceira idade e a sua influência em decisões de compras futuras, através da aplicação de entrevistas em profundidade, auxiliadas pela Photo Elicitation Technique (PET). Foi possível perceber que as emoções afetam a escolha por determinado destino de viagem, pois sensações vividas durante viagens anteriores ficam guardadas na memória e têm forte influência nos processos de decisão futuros. O trabalho ainda traz contribuições interessantes para futuras pesquisas ao investigar a ocorrência das emoções, não somente como um elemento apenas presente na decisão, como ocorre, normalmente, na maioria dos trabalhos sobre emoções, mas também como algo presente em três etapas do processo de consumo – antes, durante e depois da. Ao demonstrar que esta divisão é favorável ao melhor entendimento das emoções em todo o processo de escolha de destinos de viagem, abrem-se caminhos para outras pesquisas com distintas abordagens metodológicas.

Success dimensions analysis in capital goods projects: an approach exploring the soft and hard perspective in projects

Soft issues have been identified as key factors to project success. The vision of project success evolved mainly due to stakeholders’ demands. Within this context, this study aimed to investigate project success dimensions, exploring soft and hard prospects. The methodological approach was a case study based on three projects. The results showed important dimensions of product, team, customer, business and sustainability in the project success which were analyzed beyond the traditional dimensions. There was an expressive relevance of the soft aspects in the project management analyzed and also the influence of the stakeholder, type of project and project phase

Repair process of surgical defects filled with autogenous bone grafts in tibiae of diabetic rats

From a biological standpoint, the best material for reconstruction of bone defects is the autogenous bone graft. However, as tissue healing is affected under diabetic conditions, major changes might take place in the revascularization, incorporation, replacement and remodeling phases of the grafted area. The purpose of this study was to assess the bone healing process in surgical wounds prepared in tibiae of diabetic rats and filled with autogenous bone. Forty male rats (Rattus norvegicus albinus, Wistar) were randomly assigned to receive an endovenous injection (penile vein) of either citrate buffer solution (Group 1 - control; n=20) or streptozotocin dissolved in citrate buffer solution (35 mg/kg) to induce diabetes (Group 2 - diabetic; n=20). After determination of glycemia, the animals were anesthetized and the anterolateral regions of the tibiae of both limbs were shaved, antisepsis was performed and longitudinal incisions were made in each limb. The tibiae were exposed and two 2mm-diameter surgical cavities were prepared: one in the right limb, filled with particulate autogenous bone and the other in the left limb, filled with blood clot. The animals were euthanized at 10 and 30 postoperative days. The anatomic pieces were obtained, submitted to laboratory processing and sections were stained by hematoxylin and eosin and Masson's Trichrome for histomorphologic and histometric analyses. In both groups, the wounds filled with autogenous bone graft showed better results than those filled with blood clot. The control group showed higher new bone formation in wounds filled with autogenous bone graft at 30 days than the diabetic group, but without statistical significance. It may be concluded that, in general, the new bone formation occurred with autogenous graft was quantitatively similar between control and diabetic groups and qualitatively better in the control group

Trends of COVID-19 pediatric admissions number during the first 24 weeks of COVID-19 vaccination in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil / Tendências do número de admissões pediátricas da COVID-19 durante as primeiras 24 semanas de vacinação da COVID-19 no Rio de Janeiro, Brasil

Objective: To describe trends of COVID-19 pediatric admissions number during the first 24 weeks of COVID-19 vaccination.   Design: A retrospective study was conducted in children (0-18 years), admitted in two pediatric hospitals of Rio de Janeiro city, between January 17 and July 3, 2021 with confirmed COVID-19 by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction or serological tests. Trends of COVID-19 pediatric admissions number during the first 24 weeks of COVID-19 vaccination in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the pre-vaccine period were measured by linear regression. Participants: Children admitted in pediatric hospitals in Rio de Janeiro, city, Brazil Results: The number of total admitted patients (with all diseases) were 5340 during the pre-vaccine period, being 94 (1.8%) of them with confirmed COVID-19, and 4182 children admitted during the vaccine period, with 86 confirmed COVID-19 patients (2.1 %) (p=0.29). Media of cases admitted per/week were 2.02 in pre-vaccine period and 3.6 during the first 24 weeks of COVID vaccination (p=0.009). One death was reported in the pre-vaccine period and four in the vaccine period (p=0.14). Trends of increase in the number of admitted cases were verified both in the pre-vaccine period as in the vaccine period, being more expressive in the last one. Conclusion: There was trend of increase in number of children admitted with confirmed COVID-19 during the first 24 weeks of COVID-vaccination in Rio de Janeiro, city. Considering that few people were fully vaccinated, reducing of number of admitted children with confirmed COVID-19 was not verified

Strategic notes on Brazilian beef cattle

In the new scenario for the Brazilian beef production, the knowledge generation, the integration between the supply chain stakeholders and the information flow focused on the consumer market will be a new institutional and organizational basis for this supply chain. Therefore, this research aims to describe and analyze the structure of the Brazilian beef supply chain and technological innovations in this sector. This supply chain has motivated many studies dedicated to analyzing technologies to increase productivity. These researches have contributed to the advances in this sector, which has extended its borders in the Central and North regions of Brazil and consolidated the more traditional production systems in the South and Southeast regions. In this process, livestock production was treated as an isolated activity in relation to land, which had a value of capital and financial security. However, as the land becomes a scarce and pricy factor of production, livestock will become complementary or integrated with agricultural activity. In this sense, the future model of Brazilian livestock requires an interdisciplinary and cross-sectional view of knowledge to create an integrated production model. This model certainly leads to a reconfiguration, with an increasing land value as background. On the other hand, organizational arrangements also will undergo adjustments of agents that will be better aligned, prioritizing the final consumer. Additionally, understanding the signs of innovation sent to consumers and the information they expect to receive can facilitate the conduct of research for scientific achievement of greater integration in society

Inovação na Indústria de Software: Caracterização e Análise das Empresas Brasileiras

Este artigo trata de um estudo da Indústria Brasileira de Software e Serviços de TI (IBSS), abordando a inovação no desenvolvimento de software. Tendo como objetivo caracterizar a indústria de software e identificar o impacto das inovações no desempenho dessas empresas, a pesquisa qualitativa apresenta um levantamento de dados estatísticos, a partir de dados da Associação para a Promoção da Excelência do Software Brasileiro (Softex) e da Pesquisa de Inovação (PINTEC). O estudo apresenta resultados significativos para a compreensão do cenário atual da indústria de software, considerando-se a importância da inovação para o desenvolvimento do setor, caracterizado pelo dinamismo inovativo.Palavras-chave: Indústria de Software, Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação, Inovação Tecnológica

Phonemic and semantic verbal fluency tasks: normative data for elderly Brazilians

This study aims to investigate the infl uence of sociodemographic characteristics on the performance of older people on two tasks of verbal fl uency and provide normative data for a Brazilian population of healthy elderly individuals with different educational levels. The initial sample included 521 individuals aged from 60 years, participating in the Program Family Health Strategy. Participants who had scores suggestive of cognitive decline on the Mini-Mental State Examination, depressive symptoms in Geriatric Depression Scale and self-reported neurological or psychiatric disorders were excluded. The fi nal sample consisted of 218 participants in phonemic verbal fl uency task (letters F, A and S) and 265 participants for semantic verbal fl uency task (animals). The performance in both tests was associated with age and education, but not with sex. Still, the education variable was shown to have a greater impact on scores in phonemic and semantic tests than age in both forms of evocation. The results of this study suggest the importance of providing normative data for elderly Brazilians appropriate to age and education on verbal fl uency tasks
