    Pedagogical potential of biographic reflection as a meaning mechanism of professional teacher’s self-determination

    Biographical reflection is considered as a meaning mechanism that provides a conscious and arbitrary self-regulation of the life path. The problem of becoming a teacher's personality is discussed in this context. The problem of the formation of the teacher's personality on the basis of meaning mechanisms, the role of narrative methods for the formation of professional identity are discussed. The conclusion is made that biographical reflection is an important element of the professional accompanying of the teacher during the university education, adaptation to the profession and further independent activity. The authors choose the cognitive theory of narrative analysis as their research methodology. Political narrative is understood as a single story uniting multiple journalistic materials over a certain historical period of up to several decades, reflecting the state ideology with an arbitrary name, permanent positive or negative characters, and verbally presented via recurrent lexical units, stylistic and manipulation techniques. It is established that the Soviet narrative of the Cold War period had clearly defined villains – capitalists, while the role of victims belonged to ordinary citizens of the capitalist countries, and Communists were their saviors. The following specific features characterized the narrative: the formation of a clear opposition β€œus – them”; selective coverage of events occurring in the β€œhostile” countries, a tendency to the exclusion of anything positive; a one-sided, strongly biased view of the political, economic and cultural events (promoting the positive sides in this country and greatly exaggerating the negative ones in Western countries); an emotionally loaded image of β€œthem” created by employing appropriate linguistic and non-linguistic means; the formation of a persistent negative image of β€œthem” by the use of initially false causality (innuendo, false presuppositions, provocation); reframing cognitive representations of world events, when the same event is interpreted differently in different countries by the virtue of the existing ideology; declaration of one’s own values as moral, and β€œtheir” values as immoral. The Russian political narrative of last year supports a script called β€œWe don’t care – we are not afraid of β€˜the sanction masters’”, that is, the US President and leaders of European countries – β€œpuppets, powerless heads of their states”. The scenario of the narrative, which is now being created in the English-language media concerning relations with Russia, is that Putin/Russia is aggressive, hostile to the United States; it is a source of military conflicts, uncompromising and unpredictable. The US defends democratic values, seeks de-escalation of the existing armed confrontations, and fears the wild unpredictability of Putin/Russia. The Russian narrative is dominated by the methods of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, and direct use of obscene language against its opponents; in the English narrative intimidation dominates, when the notion of β€œthem” is referred to as an aggressor and unpredictable barbarian

    Statistical equilibrium of Sr II in the atmospheres of F and G stars

    The statistical equilibrium of Sr II in the atmospheres of stars with T eff = 5500-6500 K, logg = 1.0-4.5, and [M/H] from 0 to -3 has been analyzed for the first time. For Sr II, the pumping of excited states by chains of radiative bound-bound (b-b) transitions starting from the ground level and the subsequent photoionization from these states underlie the mechanism of departures from LTE. As a result, the upper excited levels and the Sr III continuum are overpopulated relative to the equilibrium state, the population of the ground 5s level is essentially constant, and the 5p level is depopulated when the b-b transitions are strong (in stars with [M/H] = 0 and -1) and is overpopulated when the b-b transitions from it are unable to remove the pumping produced by the resonance 5s-5p transition (stars with [M/H] = -2 and -3). As a consequence, the subordinate lines that arise during the transitions from the 5p level weaken compared to the LTE case over the entire range of the parameters, while the resonance lines strengthen for [M/H] = 0 and -1 and weakened for [M/H] = -2 and -3. In stars with normal heavy-element abundances, the departures from LTE for all Sr II lines except for the infrared triplet in the 4d-5p transition (Ξ»10400 Γ…) are small: the non-LTE corrections to the strontium abundance do not exceed 0.05 dex. In metal-deficient stars, the departures from LTE increase with decreasing [M/H], with rising T eff, and with decreasing logg. For the resonance lines, the correction reverses its sign and becomes positive for [M/H] ≀ -2; its value may reach 0.4 dex for main-sequence stars and 0.8-1.2 dex for supergiants. This may be the key to explaining the observed deficiency of s-process elements relative to Ξ±-process elements in stars of the Galactic halo

    A nonperturbative model for the strong running coupling within potential approach

    A nonperturbative model for the QCD invariant charge, which contains no low-energy unphysical singularities and possesses an elevated higher loop corrections stability, is developed in the framework of potential approach. The static quark-antiquark potential is constructed by making use of the proposed model for the strong running coupling. The obtained result coincides with the perturbative potential at small distances and agrees with relevant lattice simulation data in the nonperturbative physically-relevant region.     Recently, an increase in the incidence of all malignant neoplasms of the head and neck has been noted throughout the world. The most common type of head and neck cancer is squamous cell carcinoma, which originates from the epithelium of the oral mucosa, pharynx, and larynx. In Russia, cancer of the oral mucosa and cancer of the oropharynx are in 4th place in the structure of malignant neoplasms: more than 80 thousand new cases are registered every year. Human papillomavirus is the leading cause of increased incidence of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck in many regions of the world.Objective: to determine the main clinical and epidemiological features of HPV-associated head and neck cancer.Methods: a study based on a retrospective analysis of the patient's anamnestic data was carried out. Results: Demonstrated the role of smoking OR=2.07 (CI: 1.07β€”4.02), hookah smoking OR=3.06 (CI: 1.06β€”8.80), drinking strongly hot drinks OR=3.65 (CI: 1.44β€”9.25), the presence of a dental prosthesis OR=7.32 (CI: 2.77β€”19.31), heredity OR=7.38 (CI: 3.07β€”17.76), β€œPoor” dental status OR=33.54 (CI: 15.01β€”74.95), positive HPV status in history OR=7.31 (CI: 2.77β€”19.31), 5 or more sexual partners lifetime OR=4.95 (CI: 2.47β€”9.93) as risk factors for HPV-associated. head, and neck cancer. Conclusion: HPV prophylaxis plays an important role in reducing the incidence of associated head and neck malignancies.     Non-LTE analyses of strontium abundances in stars: A stars

    The formation of SrII lines in the atmospheres of stars of various types in the absence of local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE) is analyzed. Departures from LTE are insignificant for normal-metallicity stars with T eff ≀ 7000 K. In A stars, SrII exhibits "overionization," which decreases substantially the estimated equivalent widths of SrII lines and increases the inferred Sr abundances compared to LTE estimates. The corrections to the LTE abundances increase with temperature, reaching 0.8 and 1.4 dex for resonance lines for mainsequence stars with T eff β‰ˆ 10000 K and supergiants with T eff β‰ˆ 9000 K, respectively. The corrections for the Ξ»4161 Γ… subordinate line do not exceed 0.3 for main-sequence stars and 0.9 dex for supergiants. The lines of the λλ10036, 10327, and 10914 Γ… infrared triplet are sensitive to non-LTE effects throughout the entire range of stellar parameters, with the non-LTE corrections ranging from -0.7 to +0.7 dex. The departures from LTE in SrII lines increase with metallicity. Non-LTE strontium abundances are determined for 17 F0-A0 halo and disk stars. The sample consists of four "normal" A stars, five Am stars, and eight horizontal-branch (HB) stars. The [Sr/Fe] abundance ratios for the normal A stars are confined in the narrow interval from 0.3 to 0.45 dex, in contrast to the LTE [Sr/Fe] ratios, which range from -0.4 to +0.4 dex. The horizontal-branch stars also exhibit an overabundance of strontium relative to iron. The mean value of [Sr/Fe] for Galactic-field HB stars, [Sr/Fe] β‰ˆ 0.4 dex, coincides with the strontium overabundance in normal A stars, whereas an LTE analysis yields a substantial scatter in the [Sr/Fe] values, which range from -0.8 to +0.3 dex. HB stars in the globular cluster M4 have [Sr/Fe] β‰ˆ 1.0 dex, which is close to the strontium overabundance in Am stars. Taking into account departures from LTE made it possible to remove the effective-temperature dependence of [Sr/Fe] for HB and normal A stars. Allowance for non-LTE effects in Am stars increases the strontium abundances of these stars even more, resulting in an average [Sr/Fe] ratio of β‰ˆ 1.2 dex and a stronger correlation between [Sr/Fe] and the effective temperature. The dependence of elemental abundances on the atomic number Z taking into account non-LTE effects in SrII and BaII lines is analyzed.     Introduction. The article is devoted to the problem of interaction between schoolchildren and possible informational risks transmitted on the Internet. Considering the lack of external filters on the way of harmful information streams, it is actually necessary to develop information culture of schoolchildren, their abilities to sensibly and critically interpret the information on the Internet, and choice of adequate behaviour models surfing the Web.Β The aim of the present research is to analyze the state of informational safety of schoolchildren while using the Internet; gaining an understanding of the role of external restrictions and opportunities of intrapersonal filtration of the harmful Internet content depending on children age. Methodology and research methods. The methodology of the research is based on modern methods aimed to consider the problem of personal socialization in modern information society. Thus, the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF) questionnaire let the authors define the level of awareness of recipients on the problem under consideration. Results and scientific novelty. The theoretical analysis helped the authors predict the correlation of basic methods in order to guarantee personal safety of schoolchildren taking into account the process of maturity as well as the decrease of external filters that may stop harmful content. Empirical part of the research has enabled to reveal decrease in external control of staying of a child in network in the process of growing up against the background of restrictive attitudes prevalence among teachers and parents. Therefore, the research supposed to improve information culture of schoolchildren from the earliest ages encouraging them to sensibly and correctly interpret the information on the Internet. Practical significance. The practical recommendations to parents and teachers in order to improve informational personal safety of schoolchildren are proposed.     Abundance analysis of two late A-type stars HD 32115 and HD 37594

    We have performed abundance analysis of two slowly rotating, late A-type stars, HD 32115 (HR 1613) and HD 37594 (HR 1940), based on obtained echelle spectra covering the spectral range 4000-9850 AAngstrom. These spectra allowed us to identify an extensive line list for 31 chemical elements, the most complete to date for A-type stars. Two approaches to abundance analysis were used, namely a ``manual'' (interactive) and a semi-automatic procedure for comparison of synthetic and observed spectra and equivalent widths. For some elements non-LTE (NLTE) calculations were carried out and the corresponding corrections have been applied. The abundance pattern of HD 32115 was found to be very close to the solar abundance pattern, and thus may be used as an abundance standard for chemical composition studies in middle and late A stars. Further, its H-alpha line profile shows no core-to-wing anomaly like that found for cool Ap stars and therefore also may be used as a standard in comparative studies of the atmospheric structures of cool, slowly rotating Ap stars. HD 37594 shows a metal deficiency at the level of -0.3 dex for most elements and triangle-like cores of spectral lines.     The inhibitory effect of 1,3-substituted p-tert-butylcalix[4]arenes on butyrylcholinesterase from horse serum has been discovered and kinetically investigated with photometric microassay techniques. The interaction of calix[4]arene with the enzyme is described in accordance with the formal kinetics of competitive reversible inhibition. The inhibition constants calculated depend on the substituent in the lower rim of the calix[4]arene and vary in the range of (5-110) Γ— 10-6 M. The proposed mechanism of inhibition involves the cooperative interaction of indophenyl acetate used as a substrate, calix[4]arene and the enzyme without any covalent or electrostatic binding of the functional groups in the active site of cholinesterase. This results in the coordination of the calixarene on the enzyme surface in the proximity of the enzyme active site. Such interaction prevents the substrate from entering the enzyme active site
