ABSTRACT There is scientific evidence that physical fitness is a biological marker of health. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between physical fitness and state weight with mental health in primary school children from the southeast of Span. An cross sectional design was implemented, evaluating handgrip strength, explosive lower body strength, aerobic capacity and speed-agility through ALPHA-fitness test battery of a sample of 214 students between 8 and 11 years. The analysis of simple variance showed that physical fitness and state weight is not associated significantly with the mental health. The results indicate that physical fitness and state weight is not a differentiator of mental health in school children from the southeast of Spain. Keywords: health, physical exercise, children.Existen evidencias científicas de que la condición física es un marcador biológico de la salud. We report a characterization of surfaces of the dichalcogenide TaSe2_2 using scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (STM/S) at 150 mK. When the top layer has the 2H structure and the layer immediately below the 1T structure, we find a singular spatial dependence of the tunneling conductance below 1 K, changing from a zero bias peak on top of Se atoms to a gap in between Se atoms. The zero bias peak is additionally modulated by the commensurate 3a0×3a03a_0 \times 3a_0 charge density wave of 2H-TaSe2_2. Multilayers of 2H-TaSe2_2 show a spatially homogeneous superconducting gap with a critical temperature also of 1 K. We discuss possible origins for the peculiar tunneling conductance in single layers.Comment: 10 pages, 10 figure

Tribological study of FeCuCrgraphite alloy and cast iron railway brake shoes

[EN] A new class of materials is being installed in railway brake blocks to substitute classic cast iron in order to reduce the rolling noise produced by the roughness of the tread-wheel surface. The tribological properties of cast iron and Fe-Cu-Cr-graphite sintered alloy brake shoes were analyzed. Kinetic friction coefficient (mu) and wear were monitored by means of a pin-on-disc technique. The sintered alloy brake showed an increase in mu at higher braking velocities while the cast iron brake exhibited a decrease in mu. Wear was greater on the sintered alloy, explained by its low shear strength which decreased due to its low thermal conductivity. The roughness produced by the sintered brake shoes in wheel-tread surface was 10 times lower than that produced by cast iron. (c) 2009 Elsevier B.V. 1D charge density wave in the hidden order state of URu2Si2

Moir\'e patterns can lead to fundamentally new electronic behavior when formed between two atomic lattices slightly shifted with respect to each other. A solid is however not just characterized by the atomic lattice, but also by charge or magnetic excitations that do not need to be commensurate to the lattice. This raises the question if one can obtain a moir\'e by combining periodic electronic modulations and the atomic lattice. Here we report on the discovery of a one-dimensional charge density wave (1D-CDW) which is a moir\'e pattern between the atomic lattice and a hot spot for electronic scattering in the bandstructure of the hidden order (HO) state of URu2_2Si2_2. The moir\'e is produced by fracturing the crystal at low temperatures. Our results suggest that charge interactions are among the most relevant features competing with HO in URu2_2Si2_2

Abstract: Introduction: Physical Activities in the Natural Environment are those that unite sports activity and natural environment. Many authors base their presence in the school based on the positive effects on integral education. An excellent methodology for its development in Primary Education are the learning projects defined as a didactic resource in which tasks are programmed around a common axis (Centers of interest) in order to develop the key competences. This educational experience was held at the CEIP Miguel Medina de Archena (Murcia). The title was Project Adventure and it was developed with a group of 4th. Objective: The objective was to contribute to the development of motor skills and the acquisition of key competences. Methods: Eight sessions were developed during the first trimester of the 2017/18 academic year. The methodology was based on a cognitivist conception of learning. One of the strengths is the linking of the motor, the cognitive and the social-affective, favoring the full development of the individual. Results and discussion: It is necessary that every project developed from the area of PE does not lose the essence of the objective of it in Primary Education as it is the contribution to the development of motor competence. Conclusion: The Physical Activities in the Natural Environment developed through learning projects allow the integral development of the students.Resumen: Introducción: Las Actividades Físicas en el Medio Natural son aquellas que unen actividad deportiva y medio natural. Subsurface bending and reorientation of tilted vortex lattices in bulk isotropic superconductors due to Coulomb-like repulsion at the surface

We study vortex lattices (VLs) in superconducting weak-pinning platelet-like single crystals of β-Bi2Pd in tilted magnetic fields with a scanning tunneling microscope. We show that vortices exit the sample perpendicular to the surface and are thus bent beneath the surface. The structure and orientation of the tilted VLs in the bulk are, for large tilt angles, strongly affected by Coulomb-type intervortex repulsion at the surface due to stray magnetic fieldsThe authors are grateful to P. C. Canfield for discussions, for having proposed the growth of single crystals of β-Bi2 Pd, and for having shown how to do that. Supplementary material related to this article can be found, in the online version, at doi:https://doi.org/10.1016/j.btre.2020.e00462.A phenotypic screening of 12 industrial yeast strains and the well-studied laboratory strain CEN.PK113-7D at cultivation temperatures between 12°C and 40°C revealed significant differences in maximum growth rates and temperature tolerance. From those 12, two strains, one performing best at 12°C and the other at 40°C, plus the laboratory strain, were selected for further physiological characterization in well-controlled bioreactors. The strains were grown in anaerobic chemostats, at a fixed specific growth rate of 0.03h1 and sequential batch cultures at 12°C, 30°C, and 39°C. We observed significant differences in biomass and ethanol yields on glucose, biomass protein and storage carbohydrate contents, and biomass yields on ATP between strains and cultivation temperatures. Increased temperature tolerance coincided with higher energetic efficiency of cell growth, indicating that temperature intolerance is a result of energy wasting processes, such as increased turnover of cellular components (e.g. proteins) due to temperature induced damage. We would like to thank Judith Cohen and Kristen H. David for technical assistance with the chemostat fermentations and José Ma Heras (Lallemand Ibéria, SA) for kindly providing the industrial strains. Life-Cycle Assessment and Acoustic Simulation of Drywall Building Partitions with Bio-Based Materials

[EN] The ecological transition is a process the building industry is bound to undertake. This study aimed to develop new bio-based building partition typologies and to determine if they are suitable ecological alternatives to the conventional non-renewable ones used today. This work started with the development of a bio-based epoxy composite board and a waste-based sheep wool acoustic absorbent. Six different partition typologies combining conventional and bio-based materials were analyzed. A drywall partition composed of gypsum plasterboard and mineral wool was used as the baseline. First, a cradle-to-gate life cycle assessment was performed to compare their environmental impacts. Secondly, a mathematical simulation was performed to evaluate their airborne acoustic insulation. The LCA results show a 50% decrease in the amount of CO(2)equivalent emitted when replacing plasterboard with bio-composite boards. The bio-composites lower the overall environmental impact by 40%. In the case of the acoustic absorbents, replacing the mineral wool with cellulose or sheep wool decreases the carbon emissions and the overall environmental impact of the partition from 4% and 6%, respectively. However, while the bio-based acoustic absorbents used offer good acoustic results, the bio-composites have a lower airborne acoustic insulation than conventional gypsum plasterboard. This research was funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Competitiveness (BIA2013-41537-R). The project was co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and it is included in the R+D National Programme for Research Aimed at the Challenges of Society.Quintana-Gallardo, A.; Alba, J.; Rey Tormos, RMD.; Crespo, J.; Guillén Guillamón, IE.
