Quasichiral interactions between quantum emitters at the nanoscale

Depending on their position and their natural frequency, the emitter-emitter interactions evolve from being reciprocal to nonreciprocal, which makes the system a highly tunable platform for chiral coupling at the nanoscale. By relaxing the stringent material and geometrical constraints for chirality, we explore the interplay between coherent and dissipative coupling mechanisms in the system. Thus, we reveal a quasichiral regime in which its quantum optical properties are governed by its subradiant state, giving rise to extremely sharp spectral features and strong photon correlations

Aproximación teórica a las tecnologías digitales de servicios públicos en territorios fronterizos y periféricos

[ES] El taller sobre Tecnologías Disruptivas de la Información y la Comunicación para la Innovación y la Transformación Digital, organizado en el ámbito del proyecto DISRUPTIVE (disruptive.usal.es) y celebrado el 12 de septiembre de 2022 en Valladolid, tiene como objetivo debatir sobre los problemas, retos y beneficios del uso de tecnologías digitales disruptivas, a saber, Internet de las Cosas, Big data, computación en la nube, sistemas multiagente, aprendizaje automático, realidad virtual y aumentada y robótica colaborativa, para apoyar la transformación digital en curso en la sociedad. El programa del taller incluyó 6 papers técnicos aceptados, 2 charlas de invitados y una sesión de networking. Este volumen contiene 6 de las ponencias presentadas en el taller sobre Tecnologías Disruptivas de la Información y la Comunicación para la Innovación y la Transformación Digital. Este taller fue organizado por ICE (Instituto para la Competitividad Empresarial de Castilla y León), UVa (Universidad de Valladolid) y apoyado principalmente por el Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) a través del Programa Interreg España-Portugal V-A (POCTEP) bajo la subvención 0677_DISRUPTIVE_2_E (Dinamización de los Digital Innovation Hubs dentro de la región PocTep para el impulso de las TIC disruptivas y de última generación a través de la cooperación en la región transfronteriza).[EN] The workshop on Disruptive Information and Communication Technologies for Innovation and Digital transformation, organized under the scope of the DISRUPTIVE project (disruptive.usal.es) and held on September 12, 2022 in Valladolid, aims to discuss problems, challenges and benefits of using disruptive digital technologies, namely Internet of Things, Big data, cloud computing, multi-agent systems, machine learning, virtual and augmented reality, and collaborative robotics, to support the on-going digital transformation in society. Orden social y conflicto en noroccidente de Colombia. Nariño (Antioquia), Riosucio (Chocó) y San Pedro de Urabá, 1991-2010

RESUMEN: Este artículo se pregunta cómo se reconfiguraron los órdenes locales en los territorios de mayor confrontación armada en Colombia entre 1991 y 2010, cuáles son los factores que condicionan esas reconfiguraciones y cuál el tipo específico de órdenes locales resultantes. Con base en el concepto de orden social, una tipología construida con el cruce de las categorías de coerción y agencia y un enfoque comparativo inspirado en la configuración compleja de factores explicativos de Charles Ragin, se exponen los resultados que arroja el estudio de los tres casos abordados en cuanto a la reconfiguración de estos tres órdenes locales y a las diferencias más sobresalientes que muestran estas localidades en su capacidad para responder a las condiciones de la confrontación armada.ABSTRACT: This paper investigates how local orders were re configured in territories with highest level of armed confrontation in Colombia between 1991 and 2010, what factors determine those reconfigurations, and what specific type of local orders have resulted. Based on the concept of social order, one typology created from the crossing of categories of coercion and agency, and a comparative approach inspired by complex configuration of explanatory factors of Charles Ragin, the article states the results shown by the study of the three cases discussed in terms of the reconfiguration of these three local orders, and the outstanding differences that show these localities in its ability to meet the conditions of armed confrontation

El presente artículo expone una metodología comparativa y su aplicación al análisis de la reconfiguración de nueve órdenes locales en zonas de aguda confrontación armada en Colombia. Destacamos la sociología histórica y la propuesta de Charles Ragin en la que se apoya, y el análisis comparado de los casos. Identificamos los diferentes tipos de orden local, las similitudes entre los órdenes que conforman un mismo tipo, las diferencias entre los tipos de orden local y las trayectorias de las reconfiguraciones observadas desde el conflicto armado. Se concluye con una reflexión general motivada en la adhesión al principio de la complejidad y de la heterogeneidad causal, a propósito de las relaciones entre la agencia de los civiles y la coerción de los armados

Late Infective Endocarditis Associated with an Atrial Septal Defect Occluder Device

The Amplatzer septal occluder is one of several percutaneous devices used for the closure of secundum atrial septal defects. The main complications are related to the procedure, with infection being the least common. We present the case of a 67-year-old woman with a secundum atrial septal defect, who, 3 years after repair with an Amplatzer occluder, was admitted with sepsis and bacteraemia following recent hospitalization in an intensive care unit. Transoesophageal echocardiography showed the presence of a mobile echogenic structure in the left atrium suggestive of a vegetation. Few cases of late endocarditis involving the Amplatzer device have been reported, even though partial endothelization is one of the risk factors. There are no guidelines for the prevention, diagnosis or management of this complication

This book is a compilation of essays that were prepared from the research work of the Master in Sociospatial Studies of the Institute of Regional Studies (INER) of the University of Antioquia that participated in the 2017 edition of the Hernán Henao Delgado Award. On this occasion, six articles were nominated for the award, which obtained in its evaluation the Meritorious or Outstanding Distinctions in cohorts III and IV of that master.
