Photohadronic scenario in interpreting the February-March 2014 flare of 1ES 1011+496
The extraordinary multi-TeV flare from 1ES 1011 +496 during February-March
2014 was observed by MAGIC telescopes for 17 nights and the average spectrum of
the whole period has a non-trivial shape. We have used the photohadronic model
and a template EBL model to explain the average spectrum which fits well to the
flare data. The spectral index is the only free parameter in our
model. We have also shown that the non-trivial nature of the spectrum is due to
the change in the behavior of the optical depth above GeV
-ray energy accompanied with the high SSC flux.Comment: 11 pages, 3 figures, LaTe
Blazar origin of some IceCube events
Recently ANTARES collaboration presented a time dependent analysis to a
selected number of flaring blazars to look for upward going muon events
produced from the charge current interaction of the muon neutrinos. We use the
same list of flaring blazars to look for possible positional correlation with
the IceCube neutrino events. In the context of photohadronic model we propose
that the neutrinos are produced within the nuclear region of the blazar where
Fermi accelerated high energy protons interact with the background
synchrotron/SSC photons. Although we found that some objects from the ANTARES
list are within the error circles of few IceCube events, the statistical
analysis shows that none of these sources have a significant correlation.Comment: Latex file, 6 pages, two columns, 1 Figur
The Evolution of OSI Network Management by Integrated the Expert Knowledge
The management of modern telecommunications networks must satisfy
ever-increasing operational demands. Operation and quality service requirements
imposed by the users are also an important aspect to consider. In
this paper we have carried out a study for the improvement of intelligent administration
techniques in telecommunications networks. This task is achieved
by integrating knowledge base of expert system within the management information
used to manage a network. For this purpose, an extension of OSI management
framework specifications language has been added and investigated
in this study. A new property named RULE has also been added, which gathers
important aspects of the facts and the knowledge base of the embedded
expert system. Networks can be managed easily by using this proposed integration
El demonio y la visión del “otro” en la primera parte de la Crónica del "Perú" (1553) de Pedro Cieza de León
Many 16th century Spanish chroniclers and missionaries, arriving at what they interpreted as a New World, saw the Devil as a “hermeneutic wildcard” that allowed them to comprehend indigenous religions. Pedro Cieza de León, a soldier in the conquest of Peru, is a case in point. Cieza considers the Devil responsible for the most aberrant religious practices and customs of the Indians, although he views the natives in a positive light, as men susceptible to divine salvation. From a providentialist perspective of the history of the conquest, Cieza interprets that the evangelization and conversion of the Indians and the implantation of Christian civilization by the Spanish Crown, were able to defeat the Devil.Para muchos cronistas y misioneros españoles del siglo XVI que arribaron a lo que para ellos era un Nuevo Mundo, la figura del demonio se convirtió en un “comodín hermenéutico” para comprender la religión indígena. Pedro Cieza de León, soldado partícipe en la conquista del Perú, fue uno de ellos. En la primera parte de su Crónica del Perú, el demonio ocupa un gran protagonismo. Cieza considera al demonio responsable de las prácticas religiosas y costumbres más aberrantes de los indios, a quienes, no obstante, valora positivamente como hombres susceptibles de la salvación divina. Cieza, desde una perspectiva providencialista de la historia de la conquista, interpreta que la evangelización y conversión de los indios, unida a la implantación por la Corona española de la civilización cristiana, han logrado la derrota del demonio
Datacab: a geographical‐information‐system‐based expert system for the design of cable networks
Telecommunication networks have evolved over time as a result of technological advances, and network topologies and equipment have become increasingly complex. Expert systems are being successfully applied to the management of telecommunication networks. However, applying expert systems to network design is another especially beneficial yet still not very common approach. In this paper we propose a rule‐based expert system called Datacab. Datacab was developed at Enditel Endesa in collaboration with the Electronic Technology Department of the University of Seville, for the automatic design of hybrid fibre coax (HFC) cable networks. Using data from a geographical information system as input, it automatically generates viable HFC network designs

Generalmente el estudio de los significados se aborda a partir del examen directo de los mensajes, caracterizados por un anonimato de sus creadores, y buena parte de ese estudio procede ignorando programáticamente a los autores y a sus valores personales, así como el conjunto de los procesos internos de creación de los mensajes publicitarios, debido al imperio del presente turno intelectual socioestructuralista que entiende a los sujetos sólo como locus de los procesos. Tiene sentido la pregunta acerca de cuáles son de hecho los valores que dominan en el ámbito restringido de los llamados creativos publicitarios, hasta qué punto esos valores se trasladan a sus obras, los anuncios, qué percepciones implícitas existen del destinatario, el consumidor, y en qué medida se ven mediatizados por el sistema del management, a cuyo servicio al fin y al cabo se encuentran
