    Semantic and Lexical Text Analyzer

    Get PDF
A multi-agent systems is described that analyzes texts from two points of view: on the one hand in a lexical and on the other in a semantic way. The main purpose of the system is the efficient processing of the inputted text in order to analyzing it, and as a result, outputting it in the right way. That means that after analyzing each phrase of the imputed text, the main agent will delete each wrong phrase. Agents will exchange messages trying to stably which phrase is correct or incorrect. The system will not only remove wrong phrases, it will also make a list with all the removed ones and the reasons that made the main agent discard them so the person that inputted the text can know why those phrases were in a wrong way

Economía circular: tecnología digital y contexto urbano

    Get PDF

    Get PDF
A surgical technique for radical excision of soft tissue malignant sarcomas is described and functional and oncologic outcomes of this procedure in three patients diagnosed of soft tissue sarcoma are reported. A “Y” approach is used to perform a complete release of deltoid attachments in the scapula, clavicle and proximal humerus. This approach also allows an excision of the biopsy site, avoiding the establishment of large flaps coverage. No local recurrence or surgical wound complications were found. All the patients showed a good range of motion (130º of abduction) but loss of strength in abduction and antepulsion was found. We conclude that patients with malignant soft tissue tumors involving the deltoid muscle which undergo a wide resection of the bump through the previously described technique have an excellent functional outcome with low risk of recurrence, in absence of concomitant rotator cuff injuries

Promoting Social Media Dissemination of Digital Images Through CBR-Based Tag Recommendation

    Get PDF
Multimedia content has become an essential tool to share knowledge, sell products or disseminate messages. Some social networks use multimedia content to promote information and create social communities. In order to increase the impact of the digital content, those images or videos are labeled with different words, denominated tags. In this paper, we propose a recommender system which analyzes multimedia content and suggests tags to maximize its influence in the social community. It implements a Case-Based Reasoning architecture (CBR), which allows to learn from previous tagged content. The system has been evaluated through cross fold validation with a training and validation sets carefully constructed and extracted from Instagram. The results demonstrate that the system can suggest good options to label our image and maximize the influence of the multimedia content

Manejo de la infección protésica de hombro con gran defecto óseo: descripción de un caso complejo

    Get PDF
We report a patient who was treated by two-stage exchange, which added complication presented as a large bone defect treated following guidelines established in the current literature, with good outcome, evaluating blood analysis, radiological and clinical aspects

Bremsstrahlung in carbon thick targets by proton incidence

    Get PDF
The subtraction of the continuum from an X-ray spectrum emitted by proton bombardment is usually carried out by means of a mathematical fitting. The purpose of the present work is to develop an analytical function to model the continuous spectrum generated in a PIXE experiment for different incident beam energies in carbon thick targets. With this purpose, PIXE spectra of a carbon bulk sample were measured in an ion accelerator. The proton beam energies were varied between 0.7 MeV and 2 MeV and the X-rays generated were collected by an energy dispersive spectrometer. The spectra analysis was performed taking into account the main effects underlying the production of the continuous spectrum. Nevertheless, for the cases considered here, it was found that the atomic bremsstrahlung is the most important and other contributions were neglected. The experimental spectra from carbon thick targets were corrected by self-absorption and detector efficiency. The results show that the spectral shape corresponding to thick targets corrected by these effects is similar to the functional behavior presented by thin targets.Fil: Pérez, Pablo Daniel. Inducing Illusory Ownership of a Virtual Body

    Get PDF
We discuss three experiments that investigate how virtual limbs and bodies can come to feel like real limbs and bodies. The first experiment shows that an illusion of ownership of a virtual arm appearing to project out of a person's shoulder can be produced by tactile stimulation on a person's hidden real hand and synchronous stimulation on the seen virtual hand. The second shows that the illusion can be produced by synchronous movement of the person's hidden real hand and a virtual hand. The third shows that a weaker form of the illusion can be produced when a brain–computer interface is employed to move the virtual hand by means of motor imagery without any tactile stimulation. We discuss related studies that indicate that the ownership illusion may be generated for an entire body. This has important implications for the scientific understanding of body ownership and several practical applications

Tracing the origin of the panda's thumb

© 2015, Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg. We investigate the relative development of the carnivoran radial sesamoids to untangle the evolution of this iconic structure. In the pandas (both giant and red), this `false thumb¿ is known to perform a grasping role during bamboo feeding in both the red and giant pandas. An original locomotor role has been inferred for ailurids, but this remains to be ascertained for ursids. A large sample of radial sesamoids of Indarctos arctoides from the Miocene of Batallones-3 (Spain) indicates that this early ailuropodine bear displayed a relatively hypertrophied radial sesamoid, with a configuration more similar to that of the red panda and other carnivorans than to that of giant pandas. This false thumb is the first evidence of this feature in the Ursidae, which can be linked to a more herbivorous diet. Moreover, in the two extant pandas, the false thumb should not be interpreted as an anatomical convergence, but as an exaptive convergence regarding its use during the bamboo feeding, which changes the evolutionary view of this singular structure. This study was supported by the Spanish Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad (CGL2011-25754, CGL2011-28681 and RYC–2009–04533 to D.M.A.). The compositional HJ-Biplot—A new approach to identifying the links among bioactive compounds of tomatoes

    Get PDF
Tomatoes have been described as a functional food because of their particular composition of different bioactive compounds. In this study, the proximate composition, minerals and trace elements, and antioxidant compounds were determined in two tomato cultivars (Mariana and Dunkan) that were grown in Gran Canaria (Spain) either conventionally or hydroponically. Although compositional data of this type require being subjected to the specific statistical techniques of compositional analysis, this approach has not usually been considered in this context. In the present case, a compositional Mann–Whitney U test of the data showed significant differences for each factor (cultivar and cultivation system) in several of the compositional variables studied. For the differences between cultivars, these parameters were the protein, Mg, lycopene, ascorbic acid, citric acid, and fumaric acid contents. For the differences between cultivation systems, they were mainly those of the mineral and trace elements group. Although one-year data are insufficient to make clear relationship among compounds because more repetitions in several localities and years are necessary, the compositional HJ-biplot (in which the links provide estimates of the linear relationship among variables) results agreed with other scientific results about linear relationship among some compounds analyzed.peerReviewe
