Evaluation of Semen Quality of Buffalo Frozen Semen Produced by Artificial Insemination Center
This study aimed to evaluate and compare the quality of post thawing spermatozoa of buffalo frozen semen produced by artificial insemination centers on standard values, and proposed reference values (PRV). Materials of the research were 60 samples of straws obtained from three Artificial Insemination Center, which are each 20 straws, respectively. Parameters observed were motility, concentration, longevity, plasma membrane integrity (PMI), acrosome integrity (AIn) and recovery rate. The obtained data were tested by Z test then presented as mean ± standard deviation. The research results from three artificial insemination center showed that motility mean was 45.00±3.07%, concentration mean was 26.09±3.11 x106 cells/0.25mL, longevity mean was 10.38±0.75%/hour, PMI mean was 45.86±10.67%, AI mean was 73.99±5.28% and recovery rate mean was 64.38±5.16%. The conclusions of this research were the motility and concentration mean were higher than Indonesian National Standard (INS), longevity mean was lower than Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (DADF) standard but PMI and AIn mean were higher, the mean value of recovery rate was higher than of proposal value

Coarse grained dynamics of the freely cooling granular gas in one dimension
We study the dynamics and structure of clusters in the inhomogeneous
clustered regime of a freely cooling granular gas of point particles in one
dimension. The coefficient of restitution is modeled as or 1 depending
on whether the relative speed is greater or smaller than a velocity scale
. The effective fragmentation rate of a cluster is shown to rise
sharply beyond a dependent time scale. This crossover is coincident
with the velocity fluctuations within a cluster becoming order . Beyond
this crossover time, the cluster size distribution develops a nontrivial power
law distribution, whose scaling properties are related to those of the velocity
fluctuations. We argue that these underlying features are responsible behind
the recently observed nontrivial coarsening behaviour in the one dimensional
freely cooling granular gas.Comment: 7 Pages, 9 Figure
Incompressible Turbulence as Nonlocal Field Theory
It is well known that incompressible turbulence is nonlocal in real space
because sound speed is infinite in incompressible fluids. The equation in
Fourier space indicates that it is nonlocal in Fourier space as well. Contrast
this with Burgers equation which is local in real space. Note that the sound
speed in Burgers equation is zero. In our presentation we will contrast these
two equations using nonlocal field theory. Energy spectrum and renormalized
parameters will be discussed.Comment: 7 pages; Talk presented in Conference on "Perspectives in Nonlinear

A compact and reconfigurable silicon nitride time-bin entanglement circuit
Photonic chip based time-bin entanglement has attracted significant attention
because of its potential for quantum communication and computation. Useful
time-bin entanglement systems must be able to generate, manipulate and analyze
entangled photons on a photonic chip for stable, scalable and reconfigurable
operation. Here we report the first time-bin entanglement photonic chip that
integrates time-bin generation, wavelength demultiplexing and entanglement
analysis. A two-photon interference fringe with an 88.4% visibility is measured
(without subtracting any noise), indicating the high performance of the chip.
Our approach, based on a silicon nitride photonic circuit, which combines the
low-loss characteristic of silica and tight integration features of silicon,
paves the way for scalable real-world quantum information processors.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figure
Statistical Assessment of Long-term Shoreline Changes along the Odisha Coast
1990-1998Odisha, a coastal state on eastern seaboard of India possesses a ~450 km long coastline vulnerable to a multitude of natural and anthropogenic threats. The present study reports a systematic assessment of rates of shoreline change over a period of 25 years from 1990- 2015, using Landsat 5 and 8 series of (Thematic Mapper and Operational Land Imager) satellite images. An analysis of rate of shoreline change was carried out along select regions of Odisha coast using Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS). Linear Regression Method (LRR) was used to estimate net shoreline change at sub decade time scale and End Point Rate (EPR) to estimate net shoreline change rate in between two consecutive years. The highest erosion with a coastline length of 63 km was observed between Rajnagar (around Satabhaya beach) and Mahakalapara (near to Hukitola beach) block of Kendrapara district and between Ersama (around Paradeep port) and Balikuda blocks (northern parts of Devi River mouth) of Jagatsinghpur coastal district. The result suggest that both EPR and LRR techniques were used to estimate shoreline change rate and the similar result of erosion by both EPR and LRR technique indicated weaker cyclic trend in erosion
Large-Eddy Simulations of Fluid and Magnetohydrodynamic Turbulence Using Renormalized Parameters
In this paper a procedure for large-eddy simulation (LES) has been devised
for fluid and magnetohydrodynamic turbulence in Fourier space using the
renormalized parameters. The parameters calculated using field theory have been
taken from recent papers by Verma [Phys. Rev. E, 2001; Phys. Plasmas, 2001]. We
have carried out LES on grid. These results match quite well with direct
numerical simulations of . We show that proper choice of parameter is
necessary in LES.Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures: Proper figures inserte
Screening of different Fusarium species to select potential species for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles
Eleven different Fusarium species were isolated from various infected plant materials and screened to select a potential species for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. All the isolates were identified on the basis of cultural and microscopic characteristics using Fusarium identification keys. For the confirmation of preliminary identified isolates of Fusarium species, online BLAST analysis was carried out. All the eleven species demonstrated the ability for synthesis of silver nanoparticles. This was confirmed by UV-Vis spectroscopy, which gave characteristic peak around 420 nm. Further confirmation of silver nanoparticles was carried out using nanoparticles tracking analysis (NTA), zeta potential, photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS), powder X-ray diffractometry (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
