Se estudia la morfol ogía del polen de 23 especies de Liliaceae en Andal ucía Occidental, pertenecientes a los géneros Asphodelus, Anthericum, Simethis, Aphyllanthes, Colchicum, Merendera, Gag ea , Tulipa, Fri tillaría, Po!ygonatum, Asparagus, Ruscus y Smilax. Por l os caracteres polinices analizados se reconocen 14 tipos diferentes . Palinológicamente está justificada la separación de Smilacoideae como familia independiente , pero no se justifica la separación de Liliaceae y AmaryllidaceaeThe pollen morphol ogy of 23 species of Liliaceae from W. Herramienta de apoyo a la docencia de algoritmos de selección de instancias

En el currículo de ingeniería informática la minería de datos y el aprendizaje automático son cada vez más relevantes, tanto en los cursos de grado y máster, como también en los de doctorado. Prueba de ello es la aparición de diversas herramientas que facilitan el aprendizaje de algoritmos relacionados con la disciplina, mediante la ejecución paso a paso de los mismos y la visualización de los resultados. Sin embargo, para el caso concreto de los algoritmos de selección de instancias, estas herramientas son prácticamente inexistentes. En el presente recurso docente se presenta una herramienta implementada para cubrir esta carencia. «Instance Selection», que es como se llama la aplicación, está preparada para mostrar el funcionamiento tanto de los algoritmos clásicos como alguno de los más modernos, permitiendo la ejecución paso a paso y visualizando los resultados intermedios para facilitar la labor didáctica. Las principales ventajas de la aplicación descrita en este recurso docente son: que implementa varios algoritmos, lo que permite su comparación, es multiplataforma, permite la visualización incremental de los pasos de los algoritmos implementados, la interfaz está preparada para varios idiomas e incluye una completa ayuda.SUMMARY -- In computer engineering curricula Data Mining and Machine Learning are increasingly important in both undergraduate and masters, as well as the PhD courses. The emergence of several tools that facilitate learning algorithms related to the discipline proves that. Some of these tools allow the execution of algorithms step by step showing the results of each step, others let the student change the algorithm parameters and the student can visualize the results. However, for the specific case of instance selection algorithms these tools are virtually nonexistent. This paper discusses a tool implemented to fill this gap. “Instance Selection”, which is the name of the application, is prepared to show the operation of both classical instance selection algorithms as some of the most modern, allowing the execution step by step and displaying the intermediate results to facilitate the teaching task. The main advantages of the application described in this teaching resource are that it implements several algorithms, allowing comparison between them, it is multi-platform, it allows the interactive visualization of the steps of the implemented algorithms, the interface is ready for several languages, it includes comprehensive help.Peer Reviewe

Uso de internet para evaluar el distrés psicológico en pacientes con cáncer de mama

Objective: The object of this study is to determine the prevalence of distress symptoms and coping strategy among a large sample of Spanish-speaking breast cancer patients recruited on-line. Methods: We designed a cross-sectional study with breast cancer survivors (n=434) that were accrued via Internet (http://www.cancermama.org). Participants completed a demographic and medical questionnaire, and they were also evaluated using self-reporting measures of psychological distress and adjustment to cancer; the 14-item Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and the 29-item version of the Mental Adjustment to Cancer Scale (Mini-MAC), respectively. Results: Global HAD as a measure of distress on-line is reliable in our study. The overall prevalence rate of distress for our sample was 50%, with no differences for socio-demographics or medical status variables. Concerning to anxiety punctuation 66.2% were clinical cases and 34.5% reached the clinical level for depression. These results were associated with Mini-MAC scales as expected. Conclusions: These results offer support for the use of Internet as valid tool for the psychological distress assessment in patients with breast cancer Spanish-speaking patients. Internet brings us the possibility to identify high-risk patients through psychological screening in order to provide early interventions, and Global HAD punctuation may be an accurate tool. However more studies are needed to analyze internet illness consulting situation as an anxious provoking space.Objetivo: El objetivo de este estudio es determinar la prevalencia de síntomas de distrés y la estrategia de adaptación entre una amplia muestra de pacientes de habla hispana con cáncer de mama mediante el uso de internet.Métodos: Se diseñó un estudio transversal con pacientes con cáncer de mama (n = 434) reclutadas a través de Internet (http://www.cancermama.org). Las participantes completaron un cuestionario demográfico y médico, y también se usaron cuestionarios de evaluación psicológica ampliamente utilizados en Psicooncología, la HADs (Escala de Ansiedad y Depresión Hospitalaria) y la escala MAC (La Escala de Ajuste Mental al Cáncer), en su versión reducida de 29 ítems (Mini-MAC). Resultados: En nuestro estudio el resultado global de la HADs como medida de distrés en línea es confiable en nuestro estudio. La tasa de prevalencia general de distrés para nuestra muestra fue del 50%, sin diferencias según nivel socio-demográfico o variables médicas. En cuanto a puntuación de ansiedad 66,2% y 34% alcanzaron nivel clínico de ansiedad y depresión, respectivamente. Estos resultados se relacionaron con los de la Mini-MAC según lo esperado. Conclusiones: Estos resultados dan apoyo al uso de Internet como herramienta válida para la evaluación de los trastornos psicológicos en pacientes con cáncer de mama. Internet nos brinda la posibilidad de identificar pacientes de alto riesgo a través de screening psicológico con el fin de realizar intervenciones tempranas, y las puntuaciones globales de distrés pueden ser una herramienta precisa. Sin embargo se necesitan más estudios para analizar la situación de consulta en internet como un estímulo provocador de ansiedad

El suicidio del trabajador: relación desde el punto de vista de los riesgos psicosociales y del accidente de trabajo.

Este trabajo trata del suicidio laboral, desde la perspectiva de los riesgos psicosociales y del accidente de trabajo. Se analizan los requisitos que debe reunir un proceso de suicidio para que la jurisprudencia proceda a calificarlo de accidente de trabajo, en muchas ocasiones, provocado por la aparición crónica de riesgos psicosociales. También se expresa la evolución del concepto en sí mismo, los factores y causas que propician su aparición, su prevención en las empresas, casos reales y su tratamiento por los tribunales y la correspondiente generación de prestaciones de la seguridad social, aspectos de mejora y conclusiones finales

A Semantic Web methodological framework to evaluate the support of integrity in thesaurus tools

12 p.With the Semantic Web, thesauri recover a relevant role supporting semantic searches and other added-value services. Thesaurus standards define what constructs a thesaurus can have and the integrity rules it must comply with. Thesaurus editors can be helped in their work if thesaurus tools offer them support for integrity, warning when integrity rules are violated and/or helping them to correct these mistakes. The most recent thesaurus standard is ISO 25964, which supersedes ISO 2788, evolving towards concept-based thesauri, better aligned with the Semantic Web approach than the term-based thesauri of ISO 2788. However, the W3C recommendation for KOS (Knowledge Organization System) representation in the semantic web context is SKOS, which is in fact prior to ISO 25964. This paper focuses on thesaurus integrity and the evolution from ISO 2788 to ISO 25964. Its effect on integrity issues is analyzed. A methodological proposal for evaluating integrity support in thesaurus tools, arising from the results of this work, is presented. Its target audience is professionals in charge of thesaurus edition. Besides being adapted to the most recent thesaurus standard, ISO 25964, it also includes the comparison of ISO standards with SKOS. The paper is completed with the presentation of the results of applying it to three thesaurus tools

The chalcolithic “pit field” of Fuente Celada (Burgos): preliminary data and perspectives

Se presentan los resultados de la excavación de un yacimiento del tipo “campo de hoyos”, en su mayoría calcolíticos precampaniformes con una pequeña zona de ocupación anterior durante el Neolítico. Destaca la presencia de varias inhumaciones humanas en alguno de los hoyos y de restos asociados al hábitat (manteados de barro y elementos de molienda) en una zona, donde debió de estar situado un pequeño poblado de cabañas cuyos restos han desaparecido al estar estratigráficamente colocados en superficie. Todo ello apunta a una estructura de aprovechamiento económico de tipo estable, con inversión a largo plazo en los medios de producción, al contrario de las hipótesis que postulan una economía itinerante durante este período de la prehistoria de la submeseta norte españolaThe results are presented of the archaeological excavation of a ‘Pit Field’ site in the Northern Spanish Plateau. While a small part of the site was occupied during the Neolithic, most of the pits belong chronologically and culturally to the “Pre-Bell Beaker” Chalcolitith period. A few human graves were recovered inside the pits, together with indications of a settlement area (mud fragments used in the huts and stone mortars) whose remains have disappeared due to postdepositional disturbance. The evidence seems to support recent hypothesis claiming a sedentary exploitation of the milieu, with long-term economic investment on the nearby landscape, in opposition to traditional interpretations describing the prehistoric economy of the area as fundamentally mobile

Microwave phase shifter based on fibre Bragg grating

A variable delay line is presented for phased array antennas based on a fibre Bragg grating which has a uniform period and operates at constant optical wavelength. The Bragg wavelength of a localised part of the fibre grating is modified by straining the fibre, the optical carrier is reflected by the strained part of the grating and the time delay of the microwave modulating signal is determined by the position where the strain has been applied. In this initial experiment time delay variations up to 330 ps in the frequency range 1 - 14 GHz have been achieved
