(James & Cohn, 1997; Mclnnis, 1980) y alteraciones químicas y/o mecánicas a largo plazo (DaudinSchotte
Neutrino Physics from Charged Higgs and Slepton Associated Production in AMSB
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with bilinear R-Parity
violation, terms that violate R-Parity and lepton number are introduced in the
superpotential, and sneutrino vacuum expectation values are induced. As a
result, neutrino masses and mixing angles are generated via a low energy
see-saw mechanism. We show that this model embedded into an anomaly mediated
supersymmetry breaking scenario is testable at a linear collider using charged
Higgs boson production in association with a stau. This is possible in regions
of parameter space where the charged Higgs and stau have similar mass,
producing an enhancement of the charged scalar mixing angles. We show that the
bilinear parameter and the sneutrino vev can be determined from charged scalar
observables, and estimate the precision of this determination.Comment: 21 pages, including 8 figure
Solar Neutrino Masses and Mixing from Bilinear R-Parity Broken Supersymmetry: Analytical versus Numerical Results
We give an analytical calculation of solar neutrino masses and mixing at
one-loop order within bilinear R-parity breaking supersymmetry, and compare our
results to the exact numerical calculation. Our method is based on a systematic
perturbative expansion of R-parity violating vertices to leading order. We find
in general quite good agreement between approximate and full numerical
calculation, but the approximate expressions are much simpler to implement. Our
formalism works especially well for the case of the large mixing angle MSW
solution (LMA-MSW), now strongly favoured by the recent KamLAND reactor
neutrino data.Comment: 34 pages, 14 ps figs, some clarifying comments adde
Chitosan pretreatment for cotton dyeing with black tea
[EN] Chitosan is used in a wide range of applications due to its intrinsic properties. Chitosan is a biopolymer obtained from chitin and among their most important aspects highlights its bonding with cotton and its antibacterial properties. In this study two different molecular weight chitosan are used in the dyeing process of cotton with black tea to evaluate its influence. In order to evaluate the effect of the pretreatment with chitosan, DSC and reflection spectrophotometer analysis are performed. The curing temperature is evaluated by the DSC analysis of cotton fabric treated with 15 g/L of chitosan, whilst the enhancement of the dyeing is evaluated by the colorimetric coordinates and the K/S value obtained spectrophotometrically. This study shows the extent of improvement of the pretreatment with chitosan in dyeing with natural products as black tea.Campos Payá, J.; Díaz-García, P.; Montava-Seguí, I.; Bonet-Aracil, M.; Bou-Belda, E. Comparison of Methods for Analyzing Radiological Response of Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastasis After Neoadjuvant Chemotherapeutic Treatment
Background: We analyzed different methods used to assess the radiological responses of patients undergoing neoadjuvant
chemotherapy and metastasectomy treatment for liver metastases associated with colorectal cancer (CRC) by comparing the response
evaluation criteria in solid tumors (RECIST) 1.1, the modified RECIST, and the criteria of the European Association for the
Study of the Liver (EASL) methods and the histological response obtained after metastasectomy.
Objectives: We aimed to determine the optimal radiological method to assess the response of colorectal liver metastases to neoadjuvant
chemotherapy.
Materials and Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of CRC patients treated for liver metastases who had received neoadjuvant
chemotherapy in our hospital between January 2000 and December 2017. We analyzed the agreement between the methods
for analyzing the radiological response using the quadratic weighted kappa coefficient ( ). We studied the overall survival and analyzed
factors related to survival using the Kaplan-Meier method. We performed multivariate analysis to study the prognostic factors
of survival. We analyzed the relationship between the radiological and histological responses usingGoodmanand Kruskal?sgamma
(
).
Results: A significant agreement was observed between the modified RECIST and EASL methods ( = 0.841, P< 0.001). Cox regression
multivariate analysis indicated the RECIST 1.1 criteria as an independent prognostic factor (P = 0.03).
The
value showed a significant relationship between the three radiological response methods and histological response.
Conclusion: In our study, we showed that using RECIST 1.1 criteria is the ideal radiological analysis method for studying CRC liver
metastases treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy when compared to other methods that are based on functional imaging markers
Valorization of Caesalpinia coriaria Fruit Waste to Enhance the Ruminal Mitigation of Greenhouse Gases Production
The use of fruits waste from tanniniferous trees represents a new technology that aims to solve or mitigate greenhouse gases emission, and to increase the production of food of animal origin in an ecofriendly manner. This study aims to evaluate the production of methane and carbon dioxide, degradability by in vitro ruminal fermentation in goats diet supplemented with nuts (Caesalpinia coriaria Jacq. Willd.) for adoption by livestock farmers. Condensed tannins (CT) of C. coriaria inclusion rates were 0 (CT0 or control, no CT), 1.5 (CT1.5), 3.0 (CT3), 4.5 (CT4.5) and 6.0% (CT6) of the total mixed ration. All CT treatments reduced (linear, quadratic and cubic; P = 0.001) CH4, CO2 and H2 gases, and had some increasing effect on total biogas production. However, CT3 reduced greenhouse gases and had the highest biogas production. Addition of tannins from cascalote fruit waste (C. coriaria Jacq. Willd.) to goats diet at CT3 level reduced methane production, improved fermentation and ruminal degradability in vitro and has potential to be used as ecofriendly feed or feed additive
