Measure of the mining image

AbstractMining is a very important activity for economic and social development, but traditionally research has centered on its technical and operative aspects, instead of studying the image transmitted to the rest of society. This has originated diverse problems, fundamentally due to the information which the population receives via the mass media and which sometimes creates a current of opinion contrary to the development of this extraction activity. In order to resolve the mining communication problems it is necessary to develop a measure of the mining image based on a reliable and valid scale. This is a useful tool in developing a procedure to connect the society with other mining stakeholders and to analyze whether the real image of mining activity is similar to the image transmitted and perceived by society, since the news about the mining industry usually are focused on extreme situations or catastrophes that monopolize the information in the media. In this study a field research based on an attributes scale is developed, with the aim of measuring the mining image. The surveys were carried out in a mining area, where people have direct and real information about the mining industry and its consequences on society, environment and economy

Aplicación del método Delphi en la selección de contenidos formativos para el profesorado en TIC

En esta ponencia se expone la utilización del método Delphi para la selección de los contenidos a incluir en un “Entorno Personal de Aprendizaje” cuya finalidad es la capacitación del profesorado universitario en TIC. Este método se ha utilizado para dar respuesta a uno de los objetivos de un proyecto investigación subvencionado por el Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación que pretende diseñar, producir y evaluar un entorno de aprendizaje 2.0 para profesores universitarios. En concreto, el método Delphi, se ha utilizado para dar respuesta a cuáles con las temáticas básicas que hay que trabajar para capacitar al profesor universitario en el manejo didáctico de las TIC. De la aplicación de este método, enriquecido con las aportaciones del numeroso grupo de expertos (68), se ofrece una lista de tres bloques (Aspectos introductorios, Herramientas Servicio y Recursos para la formación en contextos de Educación Superior, Aspectos Metodológicos y Evaluación) con sus diferentes líneas temáticas y con ejemplos-sugerencias de contenidos para cada una de ellas

La democratización del aprendizaje profundo en TASS 2017

TASS 2017 has brought advances in the state-of-the-art in Sentiment Analysis in Spanish, because most of the systems submitted in 2017 were grounded on Deep Learning methods. Moreover, a new corpus of tweets written in Spanish was released, which is called InterTASS. The corpus is composed of tweets manually annotated at document level. The analysis of the results with InterTASS shows that the main challenge is the classification of tweets with a neutral opinion and those ones that do not express any opinion. Likewise, the organization exposed the project of extending InterTASS with tweets written in different versions of Spanish.TASS 2017 ha vuelto a suponer un avance en el estado del arte de análisis de opiniones en español, debido a la exposición de sistemas mayoritariamente fundamentados en métodos de Deep Learning. Además, en esta edición se ha presentado un nueva colección de tuits en español manualmente etiquetados a nivel de documento y que se llama InterTASS. El análisis de los resultados con InterTASS demuestra que en el futuro el esfuerzo investigador se tiene que centrar en la distinción del nivel de intensidad de opinión neutro y la ausencia de opinión. Evaluating satisfaction with teaching innovation, its relationship to academic performance and the application of a video-based microlearning

Aim: To develop and validate a questionnaire to assess satisfaction with teaching innovation, assess the student satisfaction with a video-based microlearning intervention in its video-based modality and to verify its impact on academic performance. Design: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted. The study used the COSMIN checklist for studies on measurement instruments. Methods: One hundred and ten nursing students from Salus Infirmorum University Centre (Andalusia, Spain) participated in the study. The items of the instrument were designed based on a literature review and its validity and stability were analysed. After that, 6 weeks of video-based microlearning intervention were implemented. Then students were asked to fill the satisfaction questionnaire and then took the subject exam. Results: The resulting questionnaire consisted of 5 items with only one dimension. The questionnaire showed good validity and reliability. A direct correlation was observed between satisfaction with the video-based microlearning intervention and the marks of the subject exam.11 página

P’urhépecha food culture as a great tourist activity in Michoacan

En México existe un gran número comunidades indígenas de origen prehispánico. En el estado de Michoacán, el cual posee una gran riqueza cultural, destaca la cultura p’urhépecha. Por la misma riqueza que posee el estado, gran parte de su economía se basa en el turismo tanto nacional como internacional. Por esta razón se realizó una serie de estudios para aprovechar en una mayor medida esta situación, teniendo como resultado la puesta en acción del evento denominado “Encuentro de cocina tradicional de Michoacán” que se ha venido realizando cada año desde el 2004. En este artículo se muestra la justifi cación de dichos estudios, así como las primeras conclusiones de los mismos y los resultados del evento gastronómico.In Mexico exists a great number of indigenous communities of pre-hispanic origin. In the State of Michoacan, which possesses a great cultural richness, the p’urhépecha culture stands out. Because of the state’s richness, great part of its economy is based on national and international tourism. For this reason, a series of studies were realized in order to take further advantage of this situation. The result was the event called “Meeting of Michoacan’s traditional cooking”, which has taken place every year since 2004.
