INFRARED CROSS-SECTIONS OF NITRO-DERIVATIVE VAPORS: NEW SPECTROSCOPIC SIGNATURES OF EXPLOSIVE TAGGANTS AND DEGRADATION PRODUCTS

Classical explosives such as RDX or TNT exhibit a very low vapor pressure at room temperature and their detection in air requires very sensitive techniques with levels usually better than 1 ppb. To overcome this difficulty, it is not the explosive itself which is detected, but another compound more volatile present in the explosive. footnote{J. C. Oxley, J. L. Smith, W. Luo, J. Brady, Prop. Explos. Pyrotec. 34 (2009) 539�543} This volatile compound can exist naturally in the explosive due to the manufacturing process. For example, in the case of DiNitroToluene (DNT), the molecule is a degradation product of TNT and is required for its manufacture. Ortho-Mononitrotoluene (2-NT) and para-mononitrotoluene (4-NT) can be also used as detection taggants for explosive detection. In this study, using the exceptional properties of the SOLEIL synchrotron source, and adapted multipass-cells, gas phase Far-IR rovibrational spectra of different isomers of mononitrotoluene and dinitrotoluene have been investigated. Room temperature Far-IR cross-sections of the 3 isomer forms of mononitrotoluene have been determined for the lowest frequency vibrational bands located below 700 wn.footnote{A. Cuisset, S. Gruet, O. LINE POSITIONS OF CENTRIFUGAL DISTORSION INDUCED ROTATIONAL TRANSITIONS OF METHANE MEASURED UP TO 2.6 THZ AT SUB-MHZ ACCURACY WITH A CW-THZ PHOTOMIXING SPECTROMETER

Several Doppler limited rotational transitions of methane induced by centrifugal distortion have been measured with an unprecedented frequency accuracy using the THz photomixing synthesizer based on a frequency comb. Compared to previous synchrotron based FT-Far-IR measurements of Boudon {em et al./}footnote{V. Boudon, O. Pirali, P. Roy, J.-B. Brubach, L. Manceron, J. Vander Auwera, J. Quant. Spectrosc. Radiat. Transfer, {bf 111}, 1117--1129 (2010).}, the accuracy of the line frequency measurements is improved by one order of magnitude, this yields a corresponding increase of two orders of magnitude to the weighting of these transitions in the global fit. The rotational transitions in the $nu_4leftarrownu_4$ hot band are measured for the first time by the broad spectral coverage of the photomixing CW-THz spectrometer providing access up to $R(5)$ transitions at 2.6 THz. The new global fit including the present lines has been used to update the methane line list of the HITRAN database. Some small, but significant variations of the parameter values are observed and are accompanied by a reduction of the $1$-$sigma$ uncertainties on the rotational ($B_0$) and centrifugal distortion ($D_0$) constants._x000d

We describe the case of a seven-year-old child who, following the incidental finding of hypertransaminasemia in the blood tests performed for a lymphadenopathy, is subjected to other blood tests that show a persistent moderate increase in CPK values, supporting the hypothesis of a muscle disease even in the absence of specific symptoms. The diagnostic path seems to point towards a late-onset metabolic myopathy. The occasional finding of hypertransaminases , associated with the finding of high CPK levels in an asymptomatic or paucisymptomatic child, orients the diagnostic path. Excluding hepatic storage disease or viral infectious disease, the differential diagnosis leads to a complex late-onset myopathy such as Pompe disease, a rare but important diagnosis whose prognosis could be dramatically improved by the enzyme replacement therapy

L’Atlas des Régions Naturelles, un manifeste photoconceptuel de la périphérie ordinaire

L’Atlas des Régions Naturelles initié en 2017 par Éric Tabuchi cherche à investir une place inédite pour la photographie au sein du projet d’architecture ou de paysage : l’image n’est pas ici convoquée par le biais de la commande, c’est son existence même qui a pour objet de susciter le projet. Il s’agit ici de tenter de cerner cet objet visuel original, héritier des voyages pittoresques du XIXe siècle comme du photo conceptualisme américain des années 1960, des missions photographiques françaises contemporaines comme des manifestes architecturaux de la fin du XXe siècle, de la pensée du paysage vernaculaire comme de la théorisation de l’ordinaire. L’analyse du protocole adopté comme des stratégies d’exposition permet de comprendre le projet d’Éric Tabuchi tout à la fois comme un manifeste de la périphérie que comme une proposition d’ingénierie intellectuelle d’appréhension des territoires actuels.Initiated in 2017 by Eric Tabuchi, L’Atlas des Régions Naturelles seeks to devote an unprecedented place for photography within architectural or landscape projects. Heir to the picturesque voyages of the 19th century, American conceptualism of the 1960s, contemporary French photography projects, architectural manifestos from the end of the twentieth century, the thought of the vernacular landscape as well as the theorization of the ordinary, the aim is to try to identify this original visual object. Analyses of the adopted protocol and exposure strategies make it possible to understand the project of Eric Tabuchi, both as a manifesto of the periphery and as a proposal for the intellectual engineering of the apprehension of current territories

The Floppy Infant : Evaluation of Hypotonia

Hipotonija u novorođenčadi i dojenčadi predstavlja dijagnostički izazov za neonatologe i pedijatre, budući da je to klinički simptom koji upućuje na dobroćudna, ali i ozbiljna stanja. Diferencijalna dijagnoza neonatalne i dojenačke hipotonije jest opsežna, a metodičan pristup pomaže u lokalizaciji problema na određeni dio živčanog sustava i formuliranju diferencijalne dijagnoze. Postavljanje dijagnoze pomaže u planiranju liječenja i informiranju roditelja o prognozi. Ovaj pregledni članak predstavlja strukturirani pristup koji naglašava početnu procjenu, pregled i liječenje novorođenčeta i dojenčeta s generaliziranom hipotonijom.Hypotonia in newborns and infants represents a diagnostic challenge for neonatologists and pediatricians, since it is a clinical symptom that points to benign as well as serious conditions. The differential diagnosis of neonatal and infant hypotonia is extensive, and a methodical approach helps in localizing the problem to a specific part of the nervous system and formulating a differential diagnosis. Establishing a diagnosis helps in planning treatment and informing parents about the prognosis. This review article presents a structured approach that emphasizes the initial assessment, examination, and management of the neonate and infant with generalized hypotonia

PENGARUH DIABETES MELLITUS TERHADAP RESISTENSI ASPIRIN PADA PASIEN STROKE ISKEMIK DI RUMAH SAKIT BETHESDA YOGYAKARTA

The secondary prevention of ischemic stroke can be implemented by giving aspirin.However, some cases of aspirin resistance have been found. The purpose of this study was toexamine the influence of diabetes mellitus on the risk of aspirin resistance in ischemic strokepatients at Bethesda Hospital Yogyakarta. This study was using a nested case-control studydesign. The Cases group was subjects who resistance to aspirin therapy. The control group wassubjects who response to aspirin therapy. The factors that affect the incidence of aspirinresistance were analyzed by bivariate analysis chi square test. The proportion of diabetesmellitus in resistant group was bigger than the aspirin responsive group. Its odds ratio (OR) was1.605 (95% CI, 0.641 to 4.017) (p=0.155). Conclusion: Ischemic stroke patients at BethesdaHospital Yogyakarta with diabetes mellitus were not proved to have a bigger risk of aspirinresistance than the patients without diabetes mellitus

Coloniality, subalternity and narratives of resistance in an afro-ecuadorian community

Partindo-se de um campo etnográfico dedicado à realidade da comunidade afro-equatoriana “La Chiquita”, nomeadamente quanto à sua luta pelo território ancestral que é-lhe de direito face à desterritorialização promovida pelo avanço do monocultivo de palma azeiteira, propomos: (I) compreender a dimensão da «colonialidade» do Estado no interior deste conflito, incluindo-se o ethos disciplinar e institucional que interpreta a negritude; e (II) identificar e analisar as diversas formas de resistência desta comunidade em resposta a tal estrutura sociopolítica vertical, trazendo à tona as narrativas do seu contexto desde uma crítica centrada na epistemologia e na sociologia jurídica.Departing from an ethnographic fieldwork dedicated to the reality of the afro-ecuadorian community of “La Chiquita”, in particular on its struggle concerning their ancestral territorial integrity in response of a growing dispossession process orchestrated by oil palm monocultures in Ecuador, we propose: (I) comprehend the “coloniality” of the State within this conflict, including the disciplinary and institutional ethos in interpreting blackness; and (II) identify and analyze the various forms of resistance of this community in response to such vertical sociopolitical structure, bringing out their narratives in context from a criticism focused on epistemology and the sociology of law
