Análisis de fatiga del fondo estructural de una lancha planeadora en aluminio por carga vibratoria del sistema propulsor

This work analyzed the structural fatigue of a high-speed craft, which has a propeller system formed by two 493-hpengines connected through speed multipliers to water jet systems. Its aluminum alloy structure has combined-typeframing. The useful life of the boat bottom’s structure was determined considering the cyclical loads generatedby the propulsion system, using the Finite Elements method and applying the effort-number method of cycles tofailure. For this, a structural model was developed of the selected zone, which was analyzed with the SAP2000program, to obtain complex amplitudes of the stress supported by the structure. Thereafter, with these results thestress range was determined and, then, using S-N curves for Aluminum the number of cycles that needed to becarried out by six structural details selected was determined, for its failure. Using Miner’s Rule, combined with thecraft’s assumed work modes, the time of the useful life time of the referential details selected during an hour wasdetermined. Finally, if the craft operates for three hours per day, the bottom structure of the boat analyzed wouldhave a useful life of 14.5 years, when working principally in low speed rating.En este trabajo se analiza la fatiga de la estructura de una lancha rápida, que tiene un sistema propulsor formadopor dos motores de 493 hp cada uno, conectados mediante multiplicadores de velocidad a sistemas de chorro deagua. Su estructura de aleación de aluminio tiene cuadernaje de tipo combinado. Se determinó la vida útil de laestructura del fondo de la embarcación, considerando las cargas cíclicas generadas por el sistema de propulsión,utilizando el método de Elementos Finitos y aplicando el método Esfuerzo-Número de ciclos para la falla. Paraello se desarrolló un modelo estructural de la zona seleccionada, el cual es analizado con el programa SAP2000para obtener las amplitudes complejas de los esfuerzos que soporta la estructura. Luego, con estos resultados sedetermina el rango de esfuerzos, y posteriormente, usando curvas S-N para aluminio, se determina el número deciclos que deben desarrollar seis detalles estructurales seleccionados, para su falla. Después, utilizando la regla deMiner, en combinación con modos de trabajo asumidos de la embarcación, se determinó el tiempo de vida útilde los detalles referenciales seleccionados en una hora. Finalmente, si la embarcación operara 3 horas por día, laestructura del fondo de la lancha analizada tendría una vida útil de 14.5 años, cuando trabaja principalmente enrégimen de velocidad baja

A simple torsion-free nonlinear beam element for multibody dynamics

We propose in this work a very simple torsion-free beam element capable of capturing geometrical nonlinearities. The simple formulation is objective and unconditionally con- vergent for geometrically nonlinear models with large displacements, in the traditional sense that guarantees more precise numerical solutions for finer discretizations. The formulation does not employ rotational degrees of freedom, can be applied to two and three-dimensional problems, and it is computationally very efficient

Modelocking of a Frequency Shifted Feedback Laser triggered by Amplitude Modulation

We report an experimental technique to trigger modelocking (ML) emission in Frequency-Shifted Feedback (FSF) lasers. These lasers feature an intracavity modulator driven by a radio-frequency tone, which shifts the light spectrum every cavity roundtrip. The technique consists of the drive of the modulator with a second tone at the cavity free spectral range (FSR) frequency. So, in addition to the frequency shift, a weak amplitude modulation (AM) appears synchronous with the cavity roundtrip time. The approach is successful as FSF cavities support chirped modes evenly spaced by the FSR, whose AM coupling produces convenient seed pulses for the ML onset. This results in ML emission at arbitrary frequency shifts and initiation thresholds lower than in standard, spontaneous FSF laser ML. Simulations indicate that the role of AM is to trigger the formation of ML pulses, but the primary mechanism of pulse buildup is Kerr effect. The technique opens a new practical route to initiate ML emission in FSF laser

Propuesta para incrementar la rentabilidad de la producción avícola de los sectores de San Miguel y Oyacoto ubicados en la parroquia de Calderón cantón Quito provincia de Pichincha

El objetivo del presente trabajo es encontrar una alternativa por medio de la cual, los avicultores de San Miguel y Oyacoto, obtengan una mayor rentabilidad del trabajo que realizan. La presente tesis consta de seis capítulos. En el primer capítulo se trata de identificar el plan de tesis, de acuerdo a los requerimientos planteados por la facultad. En el segundo capítulo fue necesario realizar una minuciosa búsqueda de información para obtener un diagnóstico del sistema de producción actual. Para el tercer capítulo el análisis se realizó en base al método FODA: fortalezas, debilidades, oportunidades y amenazas de la producción avícola del sector. El cuarto capítulo plantea una propuesta que tiene como base la unidad entre los productores, mediante la figura jurídica de una Cooperativa. El capítulo quinto se refiere al análisis financiero con el que se da respuesta a las hipótesis formuladas para la investigación. El capítulo sexto contiene las conclusiones y recomendaciones que sumen toda la investigación realizada.The objective of this work is to find an alternative through which farmers of San Miguel and Oyacoto, canobtain profitability from the work they do. This thesis has of six chapters. In the first chapter it's identifying the plan's thesis, based on the requirements posed by the faculty. In the second chapter, it was necessary to perform a thorough search of information to obtain a diagnosis of the current production system. For the third chapter the analysis was conducted based on the SWOT method: strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the poultry production area. The fourth chapter presents a proposal that is based on unity among the producers, using the legal form of a cooperative. Fifth chapter shows a financial analysis which responds to the assumptions made for the investigation. The sixth chapter contains the conclusions and recommendations which sums up all the research carried out

The Mark of the Beast: a bone assemblage assessment from the North of the Iberian Peninsula (MIS 3)

The cave of Abauntz (Navarra, Spain) has had a consistent record of human presence since 50,000 years ago. In this paper, we present the results of the taphonomy and taxonomy analyses made on an assemblage composed of over 3,000 bones found in the unit h of the cave of Abauntz, the earliest level in the cave's stratigraphy with human presence and dated in the MIS 3. Taxonomy assessment described 14 mammal taxa, identified 2,426 remains, and quantified 33 individuals, showing a greater abundance of cave bears (Ursus spelaeus) over any other taxa. The Taphonomic study assessed the skeletal survival ratio, the assemblage spatial distribution, the skeletal elements' breakage pattern, and the toothmarks on the remains. Altogether, the combined results of the analyses allowed inferring that carnivores were the main accumulator agents over human activity. An occupation pattern of the cave is proposed here, with Ursus spelaeus using the cavity during winter as a shelter for hibernation. In contrast, carnivores used it in other seasons mainly for feeding. At some point during MIS 3, neanderthals used it briefly, leaving behind a lithic tools’ assemblage. The results were compared to the faunal assemblages described in younger levels inside the cave, showing a severe decrease in the carnivore’s variety and abundance

Incidencia de la emigración familiar en el ámbito escolar y emocional en los niños/as de las provincias de Imbabura y Carchi-Ecuador

El artículo analiza comparativamente la incidencia de la emigración de uno de los progenitores en las dinámicas familiares, concretamente en las relaciones con los hijos que se quedan en el país de origen; situación que se puede comparar con los niños/as que viven con sus padres. El análisis se realizó mediante un enfoque mixto, que pretende ofrecer unos resultados cuantitativos con variables cualitativas recopiladas en un cuestionario ad hoc, situación que contrasta con los ámbitos emocional y escolar de los niños/as con padres migrantes y no migrantes en las provincias de Imbabura y Carchi del Ecuador en el 2010. En esta investigación se encontró que la emigración influye en aspectos conductuales que llevan a modificar las relaciones de los niños/as con su entorno familiar y escolar

La dirección de fotografía en el cortometraje La Habitación (Álvaro Soler, 2015)

El objeto del presente trabajo es la realización de una memoria sobre un proyecto conjunto de un cortometraje donde realicé la dirección de fotografía. Para ello se llevaron a cabo diversas investigaciones en cuanto a referencias, diferentes opciones de material técnico para filmación, etc. Se analizará el proceso de producción del director de fotografía, desde la elección de la cámara o la búsqueda de localizaciones en la preproducción hasta el look estético que le daremos etalonando el cortometraje en la fase de posproducción. A través de este trabajo veremos cómo es necesario establecer vínculos importantes con el equipo humano que te acompaña durante todas las fases. Comprobaremos cómo a pesar de que un director de fotografía tiene que tener diversos conocimientos técnicos (luz, cámara, color), también este trabajo tiene un gran componente artístico
