    Get PDF
This paper presented the results of a heritage education intervention in a non-formal context via a collective photographic exhibition organised by a cultural association. In accordance with the Faro Convention on the value of cultural heritage for society, people’s role in the construction and sustaining of their identity is recognised, and the fostering of shared responsibility towards the environment was sought. A mixed methodology was employed in order to evaluate the effects of participation in this project on the perception of heritage, to analyse what relationship there was between this conception and the photographic output, and to explain to what extent participation in a collective exhibition had an influence on the emotional resignification of everyday heritage. The results showed that the participants modified their traditional conception of heritage towards a symbolic-identity type, consciously questioned their relationship and commitment with everyday places, and rediscovered their environment by way of a contextualised learning sequenceThis research was funded by the Spanish Government’s National R&D&I: Teaching competences aimed to improve student’s learning (PGC2018-094491-B-C31) and co-funding from the ERDF of the EUS

Purpose: To describe factors associated with nurses’ attitudes or lack of knowledge regarding pain management in adult inpatients. Design: Transverse descriptive survey-based study. Methods: This was a transverse descriptive survey-based study. The population was obtained through non probabilistic convenience sampling. The Knowledge and Attitudes Survey Regarding Pain was made available to 470 nurses at a tertiary level hospital. Associations were sought with the unit where assigned, years of experience, specific training on pain, and postgraduate education. Results: The sample included 134 nurses with a mean age of 41.6 ± 10.8 years; 87% were women, 64% worked rotating shifts, 64% had more than 10 years of experience, and 31% had specific training in pain management. The greatest number of correct responses was obtained from nurses with specific training in pain management (p ¼ .001) and nurses who worked in units of surgical hospitalization (p ¼ .004). The lack of training was associated with a deficit in knowledge and inadequate attitudes about pain management. In nurses with less than 10 years of experience, worse results were observed in knowledge, whereas the unit of work was decisive in the results about attitude (p < .05). Conclusions: Among the nurses surveyed, some knowledge gaps were detected, as were certain inap propriate attitudes, associated with lack of training, lack of experience, and being assigned to specific hospitalization units.S

Influence of companies´ credibility and trust in corporate social responsibility aspects of consumer food products: The moderating intervention of consumer integrity

    Get PDF
This study aims to explore and understand whether corporate social responsibility (CSR) could be considered as an indirect cue of certain product characteristics, turning it into an effective instrument to encourage credibility and trust in a food brand and thereby influence consumers’ purchase intention; the study also considers how consumers’ integrity influences these effects of trust and credibility. The proposed model and the mediation and moderation hypotheses were tested with conditional process analysis and were generally supported by data collected from 252 consumers. The results have important implications for companies, revealing that CSR dimensions impact consumer purchase intention by generating greater credibility and trust. Moreover, among consumers with higher integrity, the effects are more significant. Finally, it is the economic dimension of CSR that has the clearest impact on consumer intentionsS

Monumental heritage and tourism. The planning of monumental complexes in Aragon: the case of Sos del Rey Católico (Zaragoza)

    Get PDF
The case of this Aragonese village is a paradigm of the Spanish context in this period, when historic and artistic values were instrumentalized according to national and folkloric ideology. This led to a museological transformation of Sos del Rey Católico through the setting up of a historic-artistic route and the ripristino of its main monumentsS

Store or build memory? Heritage education and critical thinking

    Get PDF
Cultural heritage is an intelectual construction which is mediated by the presence of an interpretive discourse. The establishment of a critical look at the heritage or the patrimonialization society process is essential. The assignment of values to the everyday, the near and the significant is bound up with scientific mediation and the emotional experience of the viewer. Heritage is not enough by itself. Even if you intend to only aesthetic and sensory experience, it is necessary to previously handle references that allow you to perform this type of analysis. Knowledge and understanding of the heritage triggers the symbolic appropriation, the characterization of cultural contexts and the definition of a reference own identity with specific values of the present. The ability of education to transform the meaning of the assets and provide interpretative key is the point of departure or arrival of a much larger game: sustainability as a result of learning.

    Get PDF
Producción CientíficaThe COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increased workload for nurses and organisational and structural changes, which have been necessary to meet the needs of inpatients in isolation. Aim: To describe the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on levels of adherence to the completion of nursing records that document the risk of developing pressure ulcers, falling, and social vulnerability among hospitalised patients in isolation. Methods: Observational pre-post comparison study. Comparison between nursing records (the Braden, Downton, and Gijón scales) belonging to 1205 inpatients took place in two phases. Phase 1: 568 patients admitted in February 2020, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, vs. phase 2: 637 patients hospitalised with COVID-19 in March–April 2020, during the peak of the first wave of the pandemic. This research adheres to the STROBE guidelines for the reporting of observational studies. Results: The degree of completion of the Braden, Downton, and Gijón scales decreased significantly in phase 2 vs. phase 1 (p < 0.001). The mean Downton and Gijón scale scores for patients admitted in phase 1 were higher compared to those of patients admitted in phase 2 (p < 0.001). The mean Braden scale score in phase 2 was higher than in phase 1 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a decrease in the completion of nursing records in the clinical records of patients in isolation. The levels of risk of developing PUs, falling, and social vulnerability of patients admitted to hospital were lower during the first wave of the pandemic
