Acquired in 2018, Time Warner (renamed Warner Media), is expected to be one of the main growth drivers for AT&T, through its subsegments and by providing content data for digital targeted advertising. However, some important risks may oppose to the $85 billion acquisition, such as the possibility of HBO Max not being able conquer its space in the SVoD market, or AT&T fail to reimburse its debt. After computing a valuation on the telecom firm without Warner Media, it was possible to conclude that AT&T is still being undervalued but would be worse off without the media and entertainment segment. Nevertheless, the firm as incurred in higher risks, which, ultimately, are reflected in its cost of capital. Hence, AT&T is now more vulnerable, meaning that, if the firm’s operations do not follow with what was predicted, it might enter in a difficult situation where it will struggle to meet its financial obligations

Ties between business model innovation and entrepreneurial finance: A case in the employer branding industry

CEMSThis report describes a business project conducted by a team of CEMS students at Nova SBE, where they were tasked with redefining an employer branding consultant’s product portfolio as part of a larger strategic change. The company is benchmarked against other B2B business models and a study is conducted into customer needs and ideal segmentation. The final recommendation of a modular offering built on a subscription-based online platform is derived from the identified customer needs and sector best practices. Finally, ties are found between the project and entrepreneurial finance theory, and future research ideas are presented

Extensão média do enunciado : obtenção de valores padrão para o português europeu em crianças de 4 anos (4;00-4;05)

A Extensão Média do Enunciado (EME) é uma medida de análise de amostras de discurso espontâneo que desde há vários anos tem sido estudada e aplicada nos mais diversos estudos noutras línguas. Através dela tem sido possível auxiliar terapeutas e linguistas na avaliação de perturbações de linguagem, orientar planos de intervenção, estudar o desenvolvimento da linguagem de crianças para uma determinada língua e o desenvolvimento de crianças bilingues. Para o Português Europeu ainda não são conhecidos valores que permitam utilizar esta medida, pelo que se desenvolveu um projeto que envolve o estudo de crianças dos quatro aos cinco anos e cinco meses. A presente dissertação tem como principal objectivo a obtenção do valor padrão da EME em palavras (EME-p) de crianças de 4;00 a 4;05 anos de idade. Pretende-se, ainda, perceber se estes valores são influenciados pelo género das crianças e pelo nível de escolaridade dos seus pais. Participaram no estudo 30 crianças residentes e a frequentar jardins de infância da área da grande Lisboa, com desenvolvimento típico da linguagem, cujo discurso foi gravado (um mínimo de 100 enunciados por criança), transcrito e depois analisado. A EME-p de cada criança foi calculada, sendo depois obtida a média das 30 amostras recolhidas, sendo, desta forma, obtido o valor médio de EME-p para esta faixa etária. Não foram observadas diferenças significativas ao nível do género nem influência da escolaridade dos pais.Mean Length of Utterance (MLU) is a spontaneous language sample analysis measure that has been used for many years and applied in a number of different studies in other languages. Through this measure, speech therapists and linguistics have been able to evaluate language disorders, plan their interventions, and study children’s language development in a specific language and in bilingual children. For the European Portuguese language, values haven’t been obtained to realise if this is a good measure to be used with Portuguese children. Therefore, a project was developed to study this measure in children between the ages of 4 and 5 and a half years old. This dissertation’s main goal is the obtainment of values of MLU in words (MLUw) from 4;00 to 4;05-year-old children. It is also intended to understand if theses values are influenced by the child’s gender or its parents’ educational level. 30 children, living and attending kindergartens in the area of great Lisbon participated in this study, all presenting typical language development. Their speech samples were recorded (a minimum of 100 utterances per child), transcripted and then analysed in terms of MLUw. Each child’s individual MLUw was calculated, followed by the obtainment of an average of the 30 samples collected and thus found the mean value of MLUw for this age group. No significant differences were observed in terms of the child’s gender and the parents’ education level doesn’t seem to influence the child’s MLUW

Not All Pseudoaneurysms Are Femoral. A Transcaval Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement Rare Complication

We report a case of a 73-year-old male with multiple comorbidities, including postpoliomyelitis severe scoliosis, referred to our tertiary center due to a severe symptomatic aortic stenosis, considered high risk for surgical aortic valve replacement (AVR). Due to unsuitable femoral and subclavian accesses, the patient underwent a transcaval transcatheter AVR (TAVR) procedure, complicated by the development of an iatrogenic infrarenal aortic pseudoaneurysm with aortocaval fistula. Scoliosis can cause varying anatomic relationships between retroperitoneal vessels and intervertebral disk spaces, which increase the difficulty of the procedure and consequently lead to this vascular complication. Although most aortocaval fistulas close spontaneously after 1 year, the risk of pseudoaneurysm rupture in this critical area was crucial in the decision of a new successful percutaneous aortic stent intervention.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Transferência da formação: o papel moderador da cultura organizacional

A presente investigação tem por objetivo testar os eventuais efeitos de moderação que a cultura organizacional poderá exercer na relação entre transferência da formação e a apren-dizagem organizacional. Com esta finalidade foi usada uma amostra composta por 292 indi-víduos, de duas empresas direcionadas por uma cultura de objetivos e regras, respetivamente (Quinn & Rohrbaugh, 1983). As respostas a um questionário, composto pelas escalas Lear-ning Transfer System Inventory (LTSI) e Questionário de Capacidade de Aprendizagem Or-ganizacional, mostram que a cultura hierarquia está associada a menor capacidade de aprendi-zagem organizacional e de transferência quando comparada com a cultura de mercado. Mos-traram igualmente que os preditores de transferência da formação que predizem a AO diferem consoante a cultura assim indicando que as dinâmicas de transferência da formação são sensí-veis à cultura organizacional.The present study intends to test the eventual moderator effects that organizational cul-ture may exert in the relation between training transfer and organizational learning. With this goal in mind we collected 292 answers from employees from two organizations with a goal culture and a rules culture respectively (Quinn & Rohrbaugh, 1983). Answers to Learning Transfer System Inventory (LTSI) and the Organizational Learning Capacity Scale (OL), showed that hierarchical culture, compared to market culture, is associated with a lower ca-pacity to learn as well as lower training transfer. It also showed that training transfer predic-tors of OL change according with the culture thus indicating that training transfer dynamics are sensible to organizational culture

Relatório de estágio realizado no Clube de Futebol “Os Belenenses” – Sociedade Desportiva de Futebol, SAD

O presente relatório contempla uma reflexão e descrição do estágio que realizei no Clube de Futebol “Os Belenenses”, com vista à obtenção do Grau de Mestre em Gestão do Desporto. Neste documento é feita uma explicação ao pormenor das tarefas por mim realizadas e de que forma pude contribuir para o bom funcionamento da estrutura de futebol profissional. Importa também referir que a minha participação na organização foi alargada a vários departamentos: Comunicação, Marketing, Vendas, Scouting e de Organização de Jogos. As principais dificuldades que enfrentei foram extra estágio, uma vez que o meu local de residência se encontra a 50 Km da organização desportiva que me acolheu e diariamente tinha que percorrer toda essa distância para chegar ao local de estágio. No entanto devido à minha experiência tanto desportiva (atleta federado e experiência na área do treino) nomeadamente ao nível do futebol, bem como, a minha formação académica na área da Gestão do Desporto tiveram um contributo muito positivo para que me pudesse ambientar ao contexto da organização, assim como, permitiram-me implementar novas dinâmicas de trabalho, ajudando para uma melhor preparação da estrutura na área em que a minha colaboração foi mais notória (a organização do jogo). Neste relatório é possível observar a reflexão e consequente conclusão que retiro durante todos estes meses de estágio e, claro, o impacto da minha participação nesta organização desportiva.This report includes a reflection and description of the internship I held at the "Os Belenenses" Football Club, in order to obtain the Master's Degree in Sports Management. This document gives a detailed explanation of the tasks I have done and how I was able to contribute to the proper functioning of the professional football structure. It should also be mentioned that my participation in the organization was extended to several departments: Organization of the Game, Communication, Marketing, Sales, and Scouting. The main difficulties I faced were off-internship, since my place of residence is 50 km from the sports organization that welcomed me, I daily had to travel all this distance to reach the place of internship. However, due to my experience both in sports (federated athlete and experience in the field of training) and in particular in football, my academic training in the area of Sports Management has made a very positive contribution to organization, as well as, allowed me to implement new work dynamics, helping to better prepare the structure in the area where my collaboration was most notable (the organization of the game). In this report it is possible to observe the reflection and consequent conclusion that I take during all these months of internship and, of course, the impact of my participation in this sports organization

Los verbos ‘sentir’ y ‘parecer’ en la obra Nada de Carmen Laforet y su traducción al italiano

In the present article we shall be concerned with the difficulty of translating the Spanish verbs ‘sentir’ and 'parecer' into Italian since the linguistic proximity between both languages can be an obstacle when it comes to representing the nuances of both verbs. Their frequency of use makes them to be part in uncountable expressions whose meaning can be hard to define. To succeed in our pursuit, Nada by Carmen Laforet and the last translation made in Italian known to us will help us to approach the different translations of both verbs.En el presente trabajo trataremos la dificultad de traducción en italiano que pueden conllevar los verbos ‘sentir’ y ‘parecer’ pues la proximidad lingüística entre ambos idiomas puede suponer un obstáculo a la hora de representar los matices de ambos verbos ya que su frecuencia de uso hace que se encuentren en innumerables expresiones cuyo significado puede ser difícil de delimitar. Fecha de Lectura de Tesis Doctoral: 9 de junio 2018.En un momento como el que vivimos en el que la tecnología cada vez está más presente en nuestra vida diaria, surge esta tesis, cuyo objetivo final es la creación de un portal bilingüe para los estudiantes de Traducción e Interpretación y para egresados que trabajen con la combinación italiano-español, que necesiten de un auxilio en el ejercicio de la profesión, ya sea de tipo legal o traductológico, así como una plataforma para la formación continua. Por esta razón, la tesis tiene carácter multidisciplinar, ya que la plataforma abarcará cuestiones relacionadas con el Derecho, la Lingüística, la Didáctica de la Traducción y la Interpretación, el ejercicio de la profesión de traductor o intérprete en el ámbito legal y, paralelamente, con disciplinas instrumentales para el traductor y el intérprete, como la Terminología o la Documentación. Una de las funciones principales de la plataforma IURITES es la de facilitar material real con el que el profesor de Traducción e Interpretación pueda proponer actividades a sus estudiantes, así como ser una plataforma en la que el estudiante tenga fácil acceso a la información que necesite para su formación continua en este campo de especialidad y combinación lingüística. Puede ser válida, por lo tanto, para el estudio guiado como para la autoformación. Igualmente, el contenido terminográfico que contendrá este portal, también servirá de auxilio para el egresado o traductor o intérprete profesional, ya que se tratará de herramientas pensadas únicamente para los que trabajen con los idiomas italiano y español y que se ocupen de textos enmarcados en el ámbito legal. Intercultural references in Translation: beginner learners of Spanish as a Foreign Language. The case of Polish students

Translation encompasses a complex activity in which we must transfer ideas from a source language to a target language, so that knowledge of the environment surrounding the working languages becomes a necessary competence to carry out the translation activity. Within this knowledge, we must necessarily include the cultural aspects of a language, either from an intercultural or an intracultural perspective. For the purpose of this article, we will focus on how intercultural elements can be developed in the classroom of Spanish as a foreign language. Contempla ainda estudos acerca do funcionamento do setor supermercadista e do segmento varejista, no qual está inserido, através do referencial teórico abordando temas sobre a operação, estratégias e concorrência do setor, bem como através de estudo de caso para ilustrar o desempenho do setor supermercadista. Serão constatados os principais fatores que levam este segmento a ser um dos mais estáveis do país, mesmo diante de crises, com grande volume e evolução de faturamento, considerável participaçãodo PIB nacional, além da geração de renda e emprego. Para tanto, serão analisados os aspectos qualitativos, ligados à gestão dos empresários na operacionalização das redes, e os aspectos quantitativos, ligados à análise contábil e financeira das empresa
