    This research entitled "Implementation of Class XII Entrepreneurship Learning In SLB Negeri A Bandung city. The problem discussed in this research is how the plan, implementation, obstacles, efforts and evaluation of entrepreneurial learning for students with visual impairment in SLBN A Bandung city. The objective to be achieved from this research process is to know the description of the entrepreneurship applied to blind students in SLBN A Bandung city. The approach used is qualitative and described narratively, to reveal the implementation of class XII entrepreneurship learning in SLBN A Bandung city. Data collection techniques in this research are interview, observation and documentation study. The results of research on the implementation of entrepreneurial learning in students with visual impairment is the learning plan for students there is no special requirement to follow the learning and RRP used following the curriculum 2013. Implementation of entrepreneurial learning with the given material is cultivating catfish, sate maranggi and compost processing. The obstacles in the implementation of learning is the lack of learning resources and learning media that can be used as a support in teaching and learning activities. Efforts to overcome these obstacles by varying media and learning resources that can support the learning and teaching process. Entrepreneurship learning is one of the capital for students in running life in society. The implications of teachers should be more attention to the uniqueness of students, and they can also be used as a reference in determining the needs so that it can create a special learning program in order to develop all the potential that is still owned by students. ----- Penelitian ini berjudul “Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Kewirausahaan Kelas XII Di SLB Negeri A Kota Bandung. Masalah yang di bahas dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana rencana, pelaksanaan, hambatan, upaya dan evaluasi pembelajaran kewirausahaan bagi siswa tunanetra di SLBN A Kota Bandung. Tujuan yang ingi dicapai dari proses penelitian ini adalah mengetahui gambaran tentang kewirausahan yang diterapkan pada siswa tunanetra di SLBN A Kota Bandung. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dan dideskripsikan secara naratif, untuk mengungkap pelaksanaan pembelajaran kewirausahaan kelas XII di SLBN A Kota Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian tentang pelaksanaan pembelajaran kewirausahaan pada siswa tunanetra yaitu rencana pembelajaran bagi siswa tidak ada persyaratan khusus untuk mengikuti pembelajaran tersebut dan RRP yang digunakan mengikuti kurikulum 2013. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran kewirausahaan dengan materi yang diberikan yaitu membudidayakan ikan lele, sate maranggi dan pengolahan pupuk kompos. Adapun hambatan dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran adalah kurangnya sumber belajar dan media pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan sebagai penunjang dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Upaya mengatasi hambatan tersebut dengan cara memvariasikan media dan sumber belajar yang bisa menunjang proses belajar dan mengajar. Pembelajaran kewirausahaan merupakan salah satu modal bagi siswa dalam menjalankan kehidupan di masyarakat. Implikasi sebaiknya guru lebih perhatian terhadap keunikan siswa, dan mereka juga bisa dijadikan acuan dalam menentukan kebutuhan sehingga bisa membuat sebuah program pembelajaran secara khusus guna mengembangkan segala potensi yang masih dimiliki oleh siswa

    Low-cost electronic sensors for environmental research: pitfalls and opportunities

    Repeat observations underpin our understanding of environmental processes, but financial constraints often limit scientists’ ability to deploy dense networks of conventional commercial instrumentation. Rapid growth in the Internet-Of-Things (IoT) and the maker movement is paving the way for low-cost electronic sensors to transform global environmental monitoring. Accessible and inexpensive sensor construction is also fostering exciting opportunities for citizen science and participatory research. Drawing on 6 years of developmental work with Arduino-based open-source hardware and software, extensive laboratory and field testing, and incor- poration of such technology into active research programmes, we outline a series of successes, failures and lessons learned in designing and deploying environmental sensors. Six case studies are presented: a water table depth probe, air and water quality sensors, multi-parameter weather stations, a time-sequencing lake sediment trap, and a sonic anemometer for monitoring sand transport. Schematics, code and purchasing guidance to reproduce our sensors are described in the paper, with detailed build instructions hosted on our King’s College London Geography Environmental Sensors Github repository and the FreeStation project website. We show in each case study that manual design and construction can produce research-grade scientific instrumentation (mean bias error for calibrated sensors –0.04 to 23%) for a fraction of the conventional cost, provided rigorous, sensor-specific calibration and field testing is conducted. In sharing our collective experiences with build-it- yourself environmental monitoring, we intend for this paper to act as a catalyst for physical geographers and the wider environmental science community to begin incorporating low-cost sensor development into their research activities. The capacity to deploy denser sensor networks should ultimately lead to superior envi- ronmental monitoring at the local to global scales

    Effect of maternal Schistosoma mansoni infection and praziquantel treatment during pregnancy on Schistosoma mansoni infection and immune responsiveness among offspring at age five years.

    INTRODUCTION: Offspring of Schistosoma mansoni-infected women in schistosomiasis-endemic areas may be sensitised in-utero. This may influence their immune responsiveness to schistosome infection and schistosomiasis-associated morbidity. Effects of praziquantel treatment of S. mansoni during pregnancy on risk of S. mansoni infection among offspring, and on their immune responsiveness when they become exposed to S. mansoni, are unknown. Here we examined effects of praziquantel treatment of S. mansoni during pregnancy on prevalence of S. mansoni and immune responsiveness among offspring at age five years. METHODS: In a trial in Uganda (ISRCTN32849447, http://www.controlled-trials.com/ISRCTN32849447/elliott), offspring of women treated with praziquantel or placebo during pregnancy were examined for S. mansoni infection and for cytokine and antibody responses to SWA and SEA, as well as for T cell expression of FoxP3, at age five years. RESULTS: Of the 1343 children examined, 32 (2.4%) had S. mansoni infection at age five years based on a single stool sample. Infection prevalence did not differ between children of treated or untreated mothers. Cytokine (IFNγ, IL-5, IL-10 and IL-13) and antibody (IgG1, Ig4 and IgE) responses to SWA and SEA, and FoxP3 expression, were higher among infected than uninfected children. Praziquantel treatment of S. mansoni during pregnancy had no effect on immune responses, with the exception of IL-10 responses to SWA, which was higher in offspring of women that received praziquantel during pregnancy than those who did not. CONCLUSION: We found no evidence that maternal S. mansoni infection and its treatment during pregnancy influence prevalence and intensity of S. mansoni infection or effector immune response to S. mansoni infection among offspring at age five years, but the observed effects on IL-10 responses to SWA suggest that maternal S. mansoni and its treatment during pregnancy may affect immunoregulatory responsiveness in childhood schistosomiasis. This might have implications for pathogenesis of the disease

    Population genetics of trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense: clonality and diversity within and between foci

    African trypanosomes are unusual among pathogenic protozoa in that they can undergo their complete morphological life cycle in the tsetse fly vector with mating as a non-obligatory part of this development. Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense, which infects humans and livestock in East and Southern Africa, has classically been described as a host-range variant of the non-human infective Trypanosoma brucei that occurs as stable clonal lineages. We have examined T. b. rhodesiense populations from East (Uganda) and Southern (Malawi) Africa using a panel of microsatellite markers, incorporating both spatial and temporal analyses. Our data demonstrate that Ugandan T. b. rhodesiense existed as clonal populations, with a small number of highly related genotypes and substantial linkage disequilibrium between pairs of loci. However, these populations were not stable as the dominant genotypes changed and the genetic diversity also reduced over time. Thus these populations do not conform to one of the criteria for strict clonality, namely stability of predominant genotypes over time, and our results show that, in a period in the mid 1990s, the previously predominant genotypes were not detected but were replaced by a novel clonal population with limited genetic relationship to the original population present between 1970 and 1990. In contrast, the Malawi T. b. rhodesiense population demonstrated significantly greater diversity and evidence for frequent genetic exchange. Therefore, the population genetics of T. b. rhodesiense is more complex than previously described. This has important implications for the spread of the single copy T. b. rhodesiense gene that allows human infectivity, and therefore the epidemiology of the human disease, as well as suggesting that these parasites represent an important organism to study the influence of optional recombination upon population genetic dynamics

    Factors affecting post-fire crown regeneration in cork oak (Quercus suber L.) trees

    Cork oak (Quercus suber) forests are acknowledged for their biodiversity and economic (mainly cork production) values. WildWres are one of the main threats contributing to cork oak decline in the Mediterranean Basin, and one major question that managers face after Wre in cork oak stands is whether the burned trees should be coppiced or not. This decision can be based on the degree of expected crown regeneration assessed immediately after Wre. In this study we carried out a post-Wre assessment of the degree of crown recovery in 858 trees being exploited for cork production in southern Portugal, 1.5 years after a wildWre. Using logistic regression, we modelled good or poor crown recovery probability as a function of tree and stand variables. The main variables inXuencing the likelihood of good or poor crown regeneration were bark thickness, charring height, aspect and tree diameter. We also developed management models, including simpler but easier to measure variables, which had a lower predictive power but can be used to help managers to identify, immediately after Wre, trees that will likely show good crown regeneration, and trees that will likely die or show poor regeneration (and thus, potential candidates for trunk coppicin

We review the physics of gravitational waves, how they interact with detectors (bars and interferometers), and how these detectors operate. We study the most likely sources of gravitational waves and review the data analysis methods that are used to extract their signals from detector noise.     Opposite polarities of ENSO drive distinct patterns of coral bleaching potentials in the southeast Indian Ocean.

    Episodic anomalously warm sea surface temperature (SST) extremes, or marine heatwaves (MHWs), amplify ocean warming effects and may lead to severe impacts on marine ecosystems. MHW-induced coral bleaching events have been observed frequently in recent decades in the southeast Indian Ocean (SEIO), a region traditionally regarded to have resilience to global warming. In this study, we assess the contribution of El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) to MHWs across the mostly understudied reefs in the SEIO. We find that in extended summer months, the MHWs at tropical and subtropical reefs (divided at ~20°S) are driven by opposite ENSO polarities: MHWs are more likely to occur at the tropical reefs during eastern Pacific El Niño, driven by enhanced solar radiation and weaker Australian Monsoon, some likely alleviated by positive Indian Ocean Dipole events, and at the subtropical reefs during central Pacific La Niña, mainly caused by increased horizontal heat transport, and in some cases reinforced by local air-sea interactions. Madden-Julian Oscillations (MJO) also modulate the MHW occurrences. Projected future increases in ENSO and MJO intensity with greenhouse warming will enhance thermal stress across the SEIO. Implementing forecasting systems of MHWs can be used to anticipate future coral bleaching patterns and prepare management responses

    First observations of separated atmospheric nu_mu and bar{nu-mu} events in the MINOS detector

    The complete 5.4 kton MINOS far detector has been taking data since the beginning of August 2003 at a depth of 2070 meters water-equivalent in the Soudan mine, Minnesota. This paper presents the first MINOS observations of nuµ and [overline nu ]µ charged-current atmospheric neutrino interactions based on an exposure of 418 days. The ratio of upward- to downward-going events in the data is compared to the Monte Carlo expectation in the absence of neutrino oscillations, giving Rup/downdata/Rup/downMC=0.62-0.14+0.19(stat.)±0.02(sys.). An extended maximum likelihood analysis of the observed L/E distributions excludes the null hypothesis of no neutrino oscillations at the 98% confidence level. Using the curvature of the observed muons in the 1.3 T MINOS magnetic field nuµ and [overline nu ]µ interactions are separated. The ratio of [overline nu ]µ to nuµ events in the data is compared to the Monte Carlo expectation assuming neutrinos and antineutrinos oscillate in the same manner, giving R[overline nu ][sub mu]/nu[sub mu]data/R[overline nu ][sub mu]/nu[sub mu]MC=0.96-0.27+0.38(stat.)±0.15(sys.), where the errors are the statistical and systematic uncertainties. Although the statistics are limited, this is the first direct observation of atmospheric neutrino interactions separately for nuµ and [overline nu ]µ
