COVID-19, the illness caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus belonging to the Coronaviridade family, a single-strand positive-sense RNA genome, has been spreading around the world and has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. On 17 January 2022, there were more than 329 million cases, with more than 5.5 million deaths. Although COVID-19 has a low mortality rate, its high capacities for contamination, spread, and mutation worry the authorities, especially after the emergence of the Omicron variant, which has a high transmission capacity and can more easily contaminate even vaccinated people. Such outbreaks require elucidation of the taxonomic classification and origin of the virus (SARS-CoV-2) from the genomic sequence for strategic planning, containment, and treatment of the disease. Thus, this work proposes a high-accuracy technique to classify viruses and other organisms from a genome sequence using a deep learning convolutional neural network (CNN). Unlike the other literature, the proposed approach does not limit the length of the genome sequence. The results show that the novel proposal accurately distinguishes SARS-CoV-2 from the sequences of other viruses. The results were obtained from 1557 instances of SARS-CoV-2 from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) and 14,684 different viruses from the Virus-Host DB. As a CNN has several changeable parameters, the tests were performed with forty-eight different architectures; the best of these had an accuracy of 91.94 +/- 2.62% in classifying viruses into their realms correctly, in addition to 100% accuracy in classifying SARS-CoV-2 into its respective realm, Riboviria. For the subsequent classifications (family, genera, and subgenus), this accuracy increased, which shows that the proposed architecture may be viable in the classification of the virus that causes COVID-19.Coordenacao de Aperfeicoamento de Pessoal de Nivel Superior (CAPES)High-Performance Computing Center at UFRN(NPAD/UFRN

This paper describes the improvement of the stylistic quality of the texts generated by the PRINCE system, a natural language generation application designed for building texts for simple fairy tales. This is done by exploiting the potential of a lexical resource - such as WordNet - and structure mapping algorithms to enhance the output texts with simple rhetorical tropes such as metaphor and analogy. The enhanced system follows the OAA multi-agent system architecture, with various agents cooperating to achieve the final texts. The results of the enhanced version are presented and discussed. Finally, some problems and possible extensions are described.Partially supported by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science, Acción Integrada Hispano-Portuguesa (HP2003-0068

This paper deals with the vote on Bill (PL) 3262/2019, which advocates the creation of a new teaching modality: home education. The PL integrates the agenda of customs taking a priority seat in the National Congress under the auspices of the “Bible Bench”. The objective is to observe speeches in the defense of homeschooling, to analyze issues that support the proposal and to assess the possible consequences for Brazilian Public Education. Our theoretical research bias is Dialectical Historical Materialism and as data collection techniques, we use documentary research through the analysis of PLs that aim to approve homeschooling and videos from public hearings and debates on home education. To base ourselves theoretically, we use Wendler and Flach (2020), Oliveira and Barbosa (2017) and Barbosa (2013), among others. We conclude, then, that this is a Neoliberal perspective that preaches the minimum taking the responsibility off from the State and dismantling Education.

Butyrate Attenuates Lung Inflammation by Negatively Modulating Th9 Cells

Th9 cells orchestrate allergic lung inflammation by promoting recruitment and activation of eosinophils and mast cells, and by stimulating epithelial mucus production, which is known to be mainly dependent on IL-9. These cells share developmental pathways with induced regulatory T cells that may determine the generation of one over the other subset. In fact, the FOXP3 transcription factor has been shown to bind il9 locus and repress IL-9 production. The microbiota-derived short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) butyrate and propionate have been described as FOXP3 inducers and are known to have anti-inflammatory properties. While SCFAs attenuate lung inflammation by inducing regulatory T cells and suppressing Th2 responses, their effects on Th9 cells have not been addressed yet. Therefore, we hypothesized that SCFAs would have a protective role in lung inflammation by negatively modulating differentiation and function of Th9 cells. Our results demonstrated that butyrate is more effective than propionate in promoting FOXP3 expression and IL-9 repression. In addition, propionate was found to negatively impact in vitro differentiation of IL-13-expressing T cells. Butyrate treatment attenuated lung inflammation and mucus production in OVA-challenged mice, which presented lower frequency of lung-infiltrated Th9 cells and eosinophils. Both Th9 cell adoptive transfer and IL-9 treatment restored lung inflammation in butyrate-treated OVA-challenged mice, indicating that the anti-inflammatory effects of butyrate may rely on suppressing Th9-mediated immune responses

In Brazil and in the world, it is common to offer vegan products with complementary characteristics, either to serve the public interested in natural products, without additives and/or organics, or for religious reasons. The use of peach palm as a basis for the elaboration of a hamburgers with the substitution of wheat flour for flaxseed flour showed a high food and socioeconomic potential with regional character. Thus, this study aimed to elaborate two formulations of pupunha vegan hamburger (f1 and f2) and perform microbiological, physical-chemical, and sensorial analyzes, as well as evaluate the yield and cost. The products showed, in the physical-chemical analyzes, lower protein contents (6.3 and 4.5% for f1 and f2, respectively) when compared to other hamburgers of animal origin. In addition, the formulations f1 and f2 presented the following levels, respectively: 58.6 and 58.5% for moisture, 13.4 and 11.5 for lipids 1.8 and 2.8 for ash,18.6 and 21.8% for carbohydrates, and energetic value of (231.6 and 214.6 Kcal. Sensory analysis showed that the use of different flours does not interfere with future consumer choices. The formulations showed no microbiological contamination, being absent of Salmonella (aus/25g), mesophilic Aerobes/g, and Escherichia coli/g, with values below those allowed by legislation. It demonstrated a potential food product for the food industry, presenting little loss of income after cooking, and also offering a low-cost marketing option for three niches: veganism, celiac patients, and regional products.
