Qualitative dynamics of interacting vacuum cosmologies

We present a phase-space analysis of the qualitative dynamics cosmologies where dark matter exchanges energy with the vacuum component. We find fixed points corresponding to power-law solutions where the different components remain a constant fraction of the total energy density and given an existence condition for any fixed points with nonvanishing energy transfer. For some interaction models we find novel fixed points in the presence of a third noninteracting fluid with constant equation of state, such as radiation, where the interacting vacuum+matter tracks the evolution of the third fluid, analogous to tracker solutions previously found for self-interacting scalar fields. We illustrate the phase-plane behavior, determining the equation of state and stability of the fixed points in the case of a simple linear interaction model, for interacting vacuum and dark matter, including the presence of noninteracting radiation. Tecnología y autogestión en cooperativas de trabajo

¿Una forma de organización social diferente requiere de la implementación de tecnologías productivas y de organización diferentes? Partimos de esta pregunta para analizar el rol asignado a la tecnología en cooperativas de trabajo autogestionadas ubicadas en la provincia de Buenos Aires y Santa Fe. Nuestro análisis permite concluir que estas cooperativas, en tanto organizaciones sociales y productivas diferentes a aquellas que tienen al capital como eje organizador, a través de determinados mecanismos específicos -igualdad entre los miembros, posibilidad de tomar decisiones por parte de todos los trabajadores, orientaciones hacia la justicia, dispersión del poder-, posibilitan otras formas de interactuar e implementar tecnologías. Por otro lado, observamos que en aquellas cooperativas en las cuales los trabajadores asumían un fuerte compromiso político y cuestionamiento del orden social vigente, también había una preocupación por implementar modos de trabajo que resguarden la salud física y mental de los trabajadores

Trabajo y salud mental. Dispositivos social solidarios y políticas públicas durante y pospandemia

Como en todos los lugares del mundo, la pandemia por covid-19 provocó en Argentina situaciones inesperadas y complejas, no solamente por ser completamente nuevas, sino por su gravedad y por la velocidad de sus efectos. En el ámbito de la salud mental pública se plantearon desafíos muy severos y algunos de ellos fueron atendidos con una enorme dosis de creatividad y cooperación. Un caso singular lo constituyeron los dispositivos de inclusión sociolaboral, término usado en la Ley de Salud Mental Nº 26657 para referirse a las alternativas de atención e inclusión por vía del trabajo. En tanto dichos dispositivos están insertos en diferentes contextos organizacionales (hospitales monovalentes y polivalentes, centros de día, universidades públicas, asociaciones civiles, talleres protegidos, centros de formación profesional y cooperativas de trabajo), se les presentaron cuestiones que dejaron al descubierto más claramente la importancia y necesidad de comprender cómo se efectúa en ellos el trabajo y qué aspectos normativos es preciso continuar revisando para que sus propósitos puedan cumplirse con mayor facilidad. Como punto de partida, sostenemos que estas formas de organizar el trabajo están inscriptas en el sector de la Economía social solidaria por las características que asumen. Nos concentramos en dos aspectos en nuestro análisis: por un lado, los esfuerzos por sostener el acceso al trabajo autogestionado, realizados por parte de dispositivos que participaron de un proyecto de incubación de emprendimientos sociolaborales que pertenecen a la Red de Cooperativas Sociales en Argentina y, por otro, los cambios en materia de política pública (en particular las resoluciones del Instituto Nacional de Asociativismo y Economía Social 1000/2021 y 1366/22), ya que tuvieron lugar durante y pospandemia y se vieron, en parte, informados por la labor de algunas organizaciones vinculadas a la Red de Cooperativas Sociales, entramado que nuclea a los dispositivos antes enunciados

No obstante, dicha perspectiva se encuentra en tensión con otros modos de pensar y hacer la vida que re-significan al espacio como bien de uso común y como lugar para habitar decidiendo en conjunto. Desde una concepción teórica y metodológica situada en la perspectiva de la geografía crítica con aportes de otras disciplinas (filosofía política, historia jurídica y estudios culturales) y una metodología que combina la etnografía colaborativa y el análisis institucional, este artículo indaga en las prácticas y sentidos acerca del uso del espacio junto a una red de organizaciones denominada “Movimiento de Trabajadores Autogestionados” (MTA), ubicada en la ciudad de Rosario (provincia de Santa Fe, Argentina). Nuestro objetivo radica en poner en visibilidad los modos en que sus participantes usan y deciden sobre el espacio para interpretar los sentidos y orientaciones que surgen de dichos modos, ya que constituyen una forma distinta a la propuesta por el marco conceptual y de práctica capitalista

Processes of subjectivation and cooperative learning: The case of PRONOAR, Rosario, Argentina as a poststructural intervention

Desde una perspectiva que integra disciplinas diferentes, se interroga el quehacer cooperativo de un grupo de trabajo autogestionado en la ciudad de Rosario, Argentina, perteneciente al Movimiento de Trabajadores Autogestionados, para poner en visibilidad los procesos de subjetivación y aprendizajes llevados adelante a lo largo del tiempo. Dichos procesos se interpretan en relación con posicionamientos generados en América Latina, América del Norte, Europa, Australia y Nueva Zelanda por parte de autores y autoras que han venido trabajando en el estudio de las economías situadas localmente como economías otras, es decir, diferentes de, y en muchos casos opuestas a, el modo considerado hegemónico (capitalista y capitalocéntrico). El texto ha sido escrito por ocho personas que pertenecemos a un Programa de Investigación Colaborativa de Propiedad Colectiva en Argentina.From a perspective that integrates different disciplines, the cooperative work of a self-managed work group in the city of Rosario, Argentina, belonging to the Selfmanaged Workers Movement, is presented to make visible the processes of subjectivation and learning carried out over time. TAO Conceptual Design Report: A Precision Measurement of the Reactor Antineutrino Spectrum with Sub-percent Energy Resolution

The Taishan Antineutrino Observatory (TAO, also known as JUNO-TAO) is a satellite experiment of the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO). A ton-level liquid scintillator detector will be placed at about 30 m from a core of the Taishan Nuclear Power Plant. The reactor antineutrino spectrum will be measured with sub-percent energy resolution, to provide a reference spectrum for future reactor neutrino experiments, and to provide a benchmark measurement to test nuclear databases. A spherical acrylic vessel containing 2.8 ton gadolinium-doped liquid scintillator will be viewed by 10 m^2 Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) of >50% photon detection efficiency with almost full coverage. The photoelectron yield is about 4500 per MeV, an order higher than any existing large-scale liquid scintillator detectors. The detector operates at -50 degree C to lower the dark noise of SiPMs to an acceptable level. The detector will measure about 2000 reactor antineutrinos per day, and is designed to be well shielded from cosmogenic backgrounds and ambient radioactivities to have about 10% background-to-signal ratio. The experiment is expected to start operation in 2022

Psychometrics of Disembodiment and Its Differential Modulation by Visuomotor and Visuotactile Mismatches

Altered states of embodiment are fundamental to the scientific understanding of bodily self consciousness. The feeling of disembodiment during everyday activities is common to clinical conditions; however, the direct study of disembodiment in experimental setups is rare compared to the extensive investigation of illusory embodiment of an external object. Using mixed reality to modulate embodiment through temporally mismatching sensory signals from the own body, we assessed how such mismatches affect phenomenal and physiological aspects of embodiment and measured perceptual thresholds for these across multimodal signals. The results of a principal component analysis suggest that multimodal mismatches generally induce disembodiment by increasing the sense of disownership and deafference and decreasing embodiment; however, this was not generally reflected in physiological changes. Although visual delay decreased embodiment both during active movement and passive touch, the effect was stronger for the former. We discuss the relevance of these findings for understanding bodily self plasticity

A Guide for Social Science Journal Editors on Easing into Open Science

Journal editors have a large amount of power to advance open science in their respective fields by incentivising and mandating open policies and practices at their journals. The Data PASS Journal Editors Discussion Interface (JEDI, an online community for social science journal editors: www.dpjedi.org) has collated several resources on embedding open science in journal editing (www.dpjedi.org/resources). However, it can be overwhelming as an editor new to open science practices to know where to start. For this reason, we created a guide for journal editors on how to get started with open science. The guide outlines steps that editors can take to implement open policies and practices within their journal, and goes through the what, why, how, and worries of each policy and practice.
