    Syftet med studien Àr att undersöka den anormala avkastningen hos börsintroduktioner pÄ Stockholmsbörsen, mellan Är 2000 och 2011, jÀmfört med ett relevant branschindex. Författarna undersöker sedan huruvida det finns nÄgot signifikant samband mellan ett antal utvalda variabler och erhÄllen BHAR. Förhoppningen Àr att studien kan bidra med ny kunskap inom aktuellt omrÄde, samt fungera som inspirationskÀlla för framtida studier. Författarna har anvÀnt sig av en kvantitativ metod med en deduktiv ansats för att analysera den sekundÀrdata som samlats in. Tidigare forskning som ligger till grund för denna studie undersöker huvudsakligen börsintroduktioner, och deras lÄngsiktiga anormala avkastning, pÄ de amerikanska börserna. Urvalet utgörs av 59 börsnoteringar som har matchats ihop med nio olika branschindex. All data Àr hÀmtad frÄn Datastream, Nasdaq OMX samt Skatteverket. Studien pÄvisade att börsintroduktionerna i urvalet presterar signifikant sÀmre Àn jÀmförbart branschindex. Av de förklarande variablerna visade sig tvÄ av branscherna ha ett signifikant positivt samband med BHAR, Consumer Goods and services samt Technology.The purpose of the study is to examine the abnormal performance of IPOs, conducted on Nasdaq OMX Stockholm between the years 2000 and 2011, compared to a relevant sector index. The authors examine if there is a significant relationship between a selection of variables and obtained BHAR. Hopefully the study will contribute with new knowledge within this research area, and act as a source of inspiration for future studies. The authors used a quantitative method with a deductive approach to analyze the secondary data that has been collected. Earlier research that has been the foundation for this study has mainly examined IPOs, and their long term performance, on the American stock exchanges. The data sample consists of 59 IPOs that have been matched together with nine different sector indexes. All data is collected from Datastream, Nasdaq OMX and The Swedish Tax Agency. The study showed that the sampled IPOs performed significantly worse than comparable index. Two of the explaining variables were determined to have a significant positive relationship with BHAR, Consumer Goods and Services as well as Technology

    Improving Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs in Small Community Hospitals Through an Assessment and Feedback Model

    Small community hospitals often lack expertise and resources for antimicrobial stewardship program implementation. Using an assessment-and-feedback model, Nebraska ASAP performed onsite assessment of antimicrobial stewardship efforts in 5 small community hospitals and provided facility specific feedback on implementation/augmentation of antimicrobial stewardship program.     PROVE-Pre-Eclampsia Obstetric Adverse Events:Establishment of a Biobank and Database for Pre-Eclampsia

    Pre-eclampsia is a leading cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. The burden of disease lies mainly in low-middle income countries. The aim of this project is to establish a pre-eclampsia biobank in South Africa to facilitate research in the field of pre-eclampsia with a focus on phenotyping severe disease.The approach of our biobank is to collect biological specimens, detailed clinical data, tests, and biophysical examinations, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain, MRI of the heart, transcranial Doppler, echocardiography, and cognitive function tests.Women diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and normotensive controls are enrolled in the biobank at admission to Tygerberg University Hospital (Cape Town, South Africa). Biological samples and clinical data are collected at inclusion/delivery and during the hospital stay. Special investigations as per above are performed in a subset of women. After two months, women are followed up by telephonic interviews. This project aims to establish a biobank and database for severe organ complications of pre-eclampsia in a low-middle income country where the incidence of pre-eclampsia with organ complications is high. The study integrates different methods to investigate pre-eclampsia, focusing on improved understanding of pathophysiology, prediction of organ complications, and potentially future drug evaluation and discovery

    Counting Yang-Mills Dyons with Index Theorems

    We count the supersymmetric bound states of many distinct BPS monopoles in N=4 Yang-Mills theories and in pure N=2 Yang-Mills theories. The novelty here is that we work in generic Coulombic vacua where more than one adjoint Higgs fields are turned on. The number of purely magnetic bound states is again found to be consistent with the electromagnetic duality of the N=4 SU(n) theory, as expected. We also count dyons of generic electric charges, which correspond to 1/4 BPS dyons in N=4 theories and 1/2 BPS dyons in N=2 theories. Surprisingly, the degeneracy of dyons is typically much larger than would be accounted for by a single supermultiplet of appropriate angular momentum, implying many supermutiplets of the same charge and the same mass.Comment: 34 pages, 1 figure, LaTe

    Frequently Identified Gaps in Antibiotic Stewardship Programs in Critical Access Hospitals

    Background: Nebraska (NE) Infection Control Assessment and Promotion Program (ICAP) is a CDC funded project. ICAP team works in collaboration with NE Department of Health and Human Services (NEDHHS) to assess and improve infection prevention and control programs (IPCP) in various health care settings including resource limited settings like critical access hospitals (CAH). Little is known about the existing gaps in antimicrobial stewardship programs (ASP) of CAH. Hence, we decided to study the current level of ASP activities and factors associated with these activities in CAH. Methods: NE ICAP conducted on-site surveys in 36 CAH from October 2015 to February 2017. ASP activities related to the 7 CDC recommended core elements (CE) including leadership support (LS), accountability, drug expertise (DE), action, tracking, reporting, and education were assessed using a CDC Infection Control Assessment Tool for acute care hospitals. Descriptive analyses evaluated CAH characteristics and frequency of CE implementation. Fisher’s exact, Mann–Whitney, and Kruskal–Wallis tests were used for statistical analyses examining the association of various factors with level of ASP activities. Results: The 36 surveyed CAH had a median of 20 (range 10–25) beds and employed a median of 0.4 (range 0.1–1.6) infection preventionist (IP) full-time equivalent (FTE)/25-bed. Frequency of CE implementation varied among CAH with action and LS as the most (69%) and least (28%) frequently implemented elements, respectively. Close to half (47%) of surveyed CAH had implemented ≄4 CE but only 14% of facilities had all 7 CE. Median bed size and IP FTE/25-bed were similar among CAH with 0–2, 3-5, or ≄6 CE in place. CAH with LS or accountability for ASP implemented higher median numbers of the remaining CE compared with CAH without LS or accountability (5 vs. 2, P \u3c 0.01 and 4 vs. 2, P \u3c 0.01, respectively). Facilities with The presence of LS, accountability and drug expertise were more likely to have all 4 remaining CE implemented than others (56% vs. 8%, P \u3c 0.01). Conclusion: LS, accountability, and DE are important factors for the implementation of the remaining 4 CE in CAH. Although LS was the least frequently implemented CE, when present was associated with implementation of most of the other CE. These parasites possess an unusual double membrane structure located directly below the plasma membrane named the inner membrane complex (IMC). First identified in early electron micrograph studies, huge advances in genetic manipulation of the Apicomplexa have allowed the visualization of a dynamic, highly structured cellular compartment with important roles in maintaining the structure and motility of these parasites.
