Search for direct production of a2(1320) and f2(1270) mesons in e+e- annihilation
A search for direct production of C-even resonances a2(1320) and f2(1270) in
e+e- annihilation was performed with SND detector at VEPP-2M e+e- collider. The
upper limits of electronic widths of these mesons were obtained at 90%
confidence level:
Gamma(a2(1320) \to e+e-) < 0.56 eV,
Gamma(f2(1270) \to e+e-) < 0.11 eV.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, 1 table. Submitted to Phys. Lett.
Confinement, the gluon propagator and the interquark potential for heavy mesons
The interquark static potential for heavy mesons described by a massive One
Gluon Exchange interaction obtained from the propagator of the truncated
Dyson-Schwinger equations does not reproduced the expected Cornell potential. I
show that no formulation based on a finite propagator will lead to confinement
of quenched QCD. I propose a mechanism based on a singular nonperturbative
coupling constant which has the virtue of giving rise to a finite gluon
propagator and (almost) linear confinement. The mechanism can be slightly
modified to produce the screened potentials of unquenched QCD.Comment: 12 pages and 7 figure
The Higher Derivative Expansion of the Effective Action by the String-Inspired Method, Part I
The higher derivative expansion of the one-loop effective action for an
external scalar potential is calculated to order O(T**7), using the
string-inspired Bern-Kosower method in the first quantized path integral
formulation. Comparisons are made with standard heat kernel calculations and
with the corresponding Feynman diagrammatic calculation in order to show the
efficiency of the present method.Comment: 13 pages, Plain TEX, 1 figure may be obtained from the authors,

Search for the radiative decay in the SND experiment at VEPP-2M
The decay was investigated by the SND detector
at VEPP-2M collider in the reaction .
Here we present the results and some details of this study. We report an upper
limit (90% c.l.) as our
final result. Our upper limit does not contradict the earlier measurement by
GAMS spectrometer. To facilitate future studies a rather detailed review of the
problem is also given.Comment: 24 pages, 6 figures, LaTex. To be published in Nucl. Phys.
Low Energy Chiral Lagrangian in Curved Space-Time from the Spectral Quark Model
We analyze the recently proposed Spectral Quark Model in the light of Chiral
Perturbation Theory in curved space-time. In particular, we calculate the
chiral coefficients , as well as the coefficients ,
, and , appearing when the model is coupled to gravity. The
analysis is carried for the SU(3) case. We analyze the pattern of chiral
symmetry breaking as well as elaborate on the fulfillment of anomalies.
Matching the model results to resonance meson exchange yields the relation
between the masses of the scalar, tensor and vector mesons,
. Finally, the
large- limit suggests the dual relations in the vector and scalar
channels, and .Comment: 18 pages, no figure
First Observation of Coherent Production in Neutrino Nucleus Interactions with 2 GeV
The MiniBooNE experiment at Fermilab has amassed the largest sample to date
of s produced in neutral current (NC) neutrino-nucleus interactions at
low energy. This paper reports a measurement of the momentum distribution of
s produced in mineral oil (CH) and the first observation of coherent
production below 2 GeV. In the forward direction, the yield of events
observed above the expectation for resonant production is attributed primarily
to coherent production off carbon, but may also include a small contribution
from diffractive production on hydrogen. Integrated over the MiniBooNE neutrino
flux, the sum of the NC coherent and diffractive modes is found to be (19.5
1.1 (stat) 2.5 (sys))% of all exclusive NC production at
MiniBooNE. These measurements are of immediate utility because they quantify an
important background to MiniBooNE's search for
oscillations.Comment: Submitted to Phys. Lett.
