A Case Study of Existing Peer-to-Peer Energy Trading Platforms: Calling for Integrated Platform Features
The emergence of distributed energy has led to a change in the role of the consumer in the traditional sense over the past decade. The proliferation of emerging generators and distributors has created opportunities for a more decentralised and open energy market. In particular, the emergence of peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading models, challenged by the surge in demand for sustainable energy, has eliminated the need for intermediaries in energy transactions between consumers, producers, and sellers. Due to the great promise of sustainable energy, both in terms of its contribution to the environment and production costs, this paper reviews a number of well-known P2P energy trading platforms to understand what makes P2P energy trading platforms more functional. As a result, areas for consideration were identified and grouped into five themes: (1) set-up, (2) market, (3) information, (4) price, and (5) regulation
Conferencia internacional.
claramente definidas y mutuamente excluyentes.
casos

Neuroscope
A design exhibition which presented about 30 international designers from Europe, Asia, and the US whose works map out new territories and encourage a new discourse about the role of design in shaping the world of tomorrow. Some of these designers also addressed - under the umbrella of Critical Design - social, political, and environmental concerns, bringing together new partnerships between designers and researchers of other fields such as science or biology
Dissection of mechanisms of resistance to Aspergillus flavus and aflatoxin using tropical maize germplasm
Published online: 10 April, 2018Aspergillus flavus induced ear rots and subsequent contamination of maize (Zea mays L.) by aflatoxin is a serious food safety issue, especially in developing countries where the crop is mostly cultivated by smallholder famers for own consumption and income generation. A better understanding of the mechanisms of resistance could help breeders to develop resistant maize varieties. In this study, a set of six tropical maize inbred lines previously identified as resistant or susceptible under natural field conditions were evaluated for response to A. flavus colonisation and aflatoxin contamination. Fungal biomass was significantly higher (P<0.05) in susceptible than resistant maize inbred lines, and this was highly correlated (P=0.001) to aflatoxin levels. Maize inbred lines MRI, MR2 and MR3 had low fungal biomass and low aflatoxin levels, suggesting that resistance in these lines was mediated through restricted fungal colonisation and establishment. Among the three putatively resistant inbred lines mentioned above, MR2 had a relatively high colonisation compared to the other two lines, revealing that A. flavus could establish and colonise kernels that were injured during inoculation, but did not contain high levels of aflatoxin. This could signify the presence of host genes that interfere with the aflatoxin biosynthetic pathway
Neuroscope
An exhibition aimed at celebrating the 150th anniversary of Italian unity and specifically the Tour of the Thousand, the initiative that throughout 2001 celebrated innovative projects developed by Italian researchers. Stazione Futuro was held at the Officine Grandi Riparazioni in Turin
Neuroscope
An exhibition at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan which looked at the changes taking place in the world of design, technology, management, fashion and scientific research. The show presentednew scenarios from the point of view of products and services (interaction design, service design, brand design and retail design)
