The use of renewable energy in different parts of the world is increasing in recent years, therefore, understanding the way and how to use these energies is very important. Today, the use of climate and productive energies has attracted more researchers. The purpose of this research is to determine the potential of the wind turbine power plant and mapping in guilan province based on fuzzy logic and AHP. In this research, wind direction and speed data of 4 synoptic stations of guilan province were provided to assess the potential, mapping and determine the establishment of a wind turbine plant in guilan province for sustainable development using fuzzy logic in a statistical period for each synoptic station since its establishment until 2014. In this systemic model, the monthly and seasonal wind speed were scored using the fuzzy method and WindRose Plot and SabaWind software were used to determine the wind direction. Wind speed mapping map was drawn to establish a wind turbine plant with scores obtained for each of the stations using the GIS. The findings of the research show that fuzzy logic method showed a large variation to establish wind turbine power plants using wind speed and wind direction. In total, the Manjil station with the highest windy with the score of 29.29 were ranked first in the construction of wind turbines after obtaining the final rating each of the 4 stations in guilan province to build a high-confidence wind power plant and other stations are the next priorities in the province of Gilan for the establishment of the turbine plant with the scores (Bandar Anzali: 22.79, Astara: 20.37 and Rasht: 17.91). guilan province is suitable for establishing a turbine plant, because of the potential and windy favorable conditions to use it to meet the needs of various energies, including the electricity of the area. Therefore, it is necessary to take steady steps in order to develop this important industry. Keywords: Wind direction and Speed, Potentiometric, Fuzzy logic, Wind power plant, Statistical analysi

    Get PDF
Introduction Tumoral calcinosis (TC) is a rare disorder characterized by the development of calcified masses within the periarticular soft tissues of large joints. It commonly involves the hip, shoulders, and elbows. TC rarely involves the feet. Case presentation In this report, we describe an unusual case of primary TC of the foot in a 76-year-old female and discuss the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions of the condition. Discussion Due to the wide range of conditions mimicking TC, its diagnosis could be challenging. Diagnosis of TC is mainly based on the radiographic findings, the patient's biochemical profile, and the medical history plus differentiating the condition from its mimics. Conclusion TC should be considered in the differential diagnosis of any soft tissue calcification. ©2015 Published by Elsevier Ltd. on behalf of Surgical Associates Ltd

    Get PDF
Many organizations rely on social media like Facebook as a screening or selection tool; however, research still largely lags behind practice. For instance, little is known about how individuals are strategically utilizing their Facebook profile while applying for jobs. This research examines job seekers’ impression management (IM) tactics on Facebook, personality traits associated with IM use, and associations between IM and job-search outcomes. Results from two complementary studies demonstrate that job seekers engage in three main Facebook IM tactics: defensive, assertive deceptive, and assertive honest IM. Job seekers lower in Honesty–Humility use more Facebook IM tactics, whereas those higher in Extraversion use more honest IM and those higher on Conscientiousness use less deceptive IM. Honest IM tactics used on Facebook are positively related to job-search outcomes. This paper therefore extends previous IM research by empirically examining IM use on Facebook, along with its antecedents and outcomes

    Aharonov-Bohm effect in graphene

We investigate experimentally transport through ring-shaped devices etched in graphene and observe clear Aharonov-Bohm conductance oscillations. The temperature dependence of the oscillation amplitude indicates that below 1 K the phase coherence length is comparable to or larger than the size of the ring. An increase in the amplitude is observed at high magnetic field, when the cyclotron diameter becomes comparable to the width of the arms of the ring. By measuring the dependence on gate voltage, we also observe an unexpected linear dependence of the oscillation amplitude on the ring conductance, which had not been reported earlier in rings made using conventional metals or semiconducting heterostructures.Comment: 14 pages, 5 figure

Distributed multi-agent Load Frequency Control for a Large-scale Power System Optimized by Grey Wolf Optimizer

    Get PDF
This paper aims to design an optimal distributed multi-agent controller for load frequency control and optimal power flow purposes. The controller parameters are optimized using Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithm. The designed optimal distributed controller is employed for load frequency control in the IEEE 30-bus test system with six generators. The controller of each generator is considered as one agent. The controllers of agents are implemented in a distributed manner that is control rule of each agent depends on the agents’ own state and the states of their neighbors. Three other types of controllers including centralized controller, decentralized controller, and optimal centralized controller are considered for comparison. The performances of decentralized and distributed controllers are compared with two centralized controllers. In the optimal centralized controller and optimal distributed controller, the objective function is considered to achieve the objective of load frequency control as well as minimize power generation. Simulation results using MATLAB/SIMULINK show that although there is no global information of system in the optimal distributed controller, it has suitably reduced the frequency deviation. Meanwhile the power is optimally generated in the three scenarios of load increasing, load reduction and generator outage

In order to obtain live individuals of cobia (Rachycentrun canadum) , coastal waters of Jask, Sirik, Kolahi , Bandar Abbas, Bandar-e Lengeh ,Bandar-e Bostaneh and Abu moosa ,Hormoz and Qeshm Islands have been surveyed from March 2008 to January 2010 in Northern waters of Persian Gulf (Hormozgan province). All in all 60 alive fishes obtained from fishing boats and transferred to Aquaculture Department of Persian Gulf and Oman Sea Ecological Research Institute (PGOSERI), but 50 of them died and only 10 fish survived. They divided in two groups and cultured in separated concrete tanks. Fished were fed with trush fish twice a day at a feeding rate of 4-5 percent of body weight. Culturing period last about 6 months. All the fishes gradually died through the culturing period. Average of specific growth rate in group 1 and 2 were about 0/49 and 0/77 respectively. The weight gain for group 1 (WG) was %75 for 75 days of culturing time and % 142 for 190 days of culturing time while for group 2 it was %31 for 54 days of culturing time and % 75 for 190 days . Average weight of fishes belong to group 1 reached from 950(g) to 2150 (g) during 6 months, while group 2 reached from 872(g) to 1271/5 (g) in 3 months. Feed conversion rate (FCR) for group 1 and 2 were respectively about 6.9 and 6.8. With regard to cost of trash fish (about 2000 Rials per kilogram trash fish) the per unit feed cost of cobia production were 13613 and 13730 Iranian Rials per kilogram, respectively for group 1 and group 2. Results revealed that obtaining live individuals of cobia is very difficult and also cobia didn’t grow well in concrete tanks but if we have better cooperation of local fishermen and also provide some Equipment such as cages in order to rear cobia in the sea , it is possible to achieve more success and obtaining better results

Immune-related pan-cancer gene expression signatures of patient survival revealed by NanoString-based analyses

The immune system plays a central role in the onset and progression of cancer. A better understanding of transcriptional changes in immune cell-related genes associated with cancer progression, and their significance in disease prognosis, is therefore needed. NanoString-based targeted gene expression profiling has advantages for deployment in a clinical setting over RNA-seq technologies. We analysed NanoString PanCancer Immune Profiling panel gene expression data encompassing 770 genes, and overall survival data, from multiple previous studies covering 10 different cancer types, including solid and blood malignancies, across 515 patients. This analysis revealed an immune gene signature comprising 39 genes that were upregulated in those patients with shorter overall survival; of these 39 genes, three (MAGEC2, SSX1 and ULBP2) were common to both solid and blood malignancies. Most of the genes identified have previously been reported as relevant in one or more cancer types. Using Cibersort, we investigated immune cell levels within individual cancer types and across groups of cancers, as well as in shorter and longer overall survival groups. Patients with shorter survival had a higher proportion of M2 macrophages and γδ T cells. Patients with longer overall survival had a higher proportion of CD8+ T cells, CD4+ T memory cells, NK cells and, unexpectedly, T regulatory cells. Using a transcriptomics platform with certain advantages for deployment in a clinical setting, our multi-cancer meta-analysis of immune gene expression and overall survival data has identified a specific transcriptional profile associated with poor overall survival
