Orientalism is synonymous with the Western male view of Eastern men and women. The discourse of Orientalism is a masculine discourse that rarely portrays women, especially mothers, as subjects of analysis. The problem of this research lies in the Orientalist discourse in the Indonesian version of the novel "Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng, which is approached from the viewpoint of women, particularly mothers, resulting in a contest to become the best mother. The mothers in this novel are divided into two categories: the West mother, represented by Elena Richardson, and the Orient mother, represented by Mia Warren. This study aims to reveal the contestation between the West and Orient mothers. This research uses a qualitative method, and the theoretical framework used is Orientalism, as proposed by Edward W. Said. This research found latent Orientalism in the West mother's perspective towards the Orient mother, resulting in competition to become the best mother figure. This research also found that both mothers failed to become the best mothers for their children, whether from the West or the Orient

Dalam Under The Greenwood Tree, Dick Dewy tidak hanya menginginkan Fancy Day sebatas keinginan saja. Tiga proses tersebut adalah law of attraction, law of creating, dan law of allowing.Kata-kata kunci: Hukum Tarik-Menarik, Thomas Hardy, Era Victoria, Sastra Banding, Michael J. Losier

A Pair of Jeans” karya Qaisra Shahraz. Kata Kunci: multikulturalisme; hibriditas; mimikri; ambivalensi; krisis identitas Multiculturalism becomes a glorified discourse in the twenty-first century because it reflects the modernity in which the meeting and mixing of two or more cultures are considered as a reflection of a modern society that is open to acculturation. Today, multiculturalism is a common phenomenon in various parts of the world because of the ongoing process of migration in various countries, one of which is Britain (United Kingdom). According to the 2011 census, it was recorded that Britain was home to eighteen different ethnic groups scattered throughout Britain and Pakistan is one of the ethnic groups, ranking third with 2% of the total population in the UK. These eighteen ethnic groups live together so their cultures meet and are mixed in the space of multiculturalism. This multiculturalism then triggers an identity crisis. Using contemporary literature published in the twenty-first century, this study aims to reveal how Miriam's identity crisis, a Pakistani Muslim woman living in Britain, is described in Qaisra Shahraz’s “A Pair of Jeans”. By applying the method of post-colonialism analysis of Homi K. Bhabha, this study finds that the process of hybridity and mimicry in multiculturalism can lead to ambivalence in the form of identity crisis. Keywords: multiculturalism; hybridity; mimicry; ambivalence; identity crisis

The COVID-19 pandemic had several negative impacts, including delaying the thesis completion, which has increased compared to before the pandemic. This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and academic procrastination in students working on their thesis during the pandemic. There were 161 participants, and the purposive sampling technique was used. Furthermore, this study used a quantitative design with a correlational method. The hypothesis proposed a significant negative relationship between these students' social support and academic procrastination. Furthermore, the Tuckman Procrastination Scale and the Interpersonal Support Evaluation List were employed. Also, the data analysis was conducted using Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 24 for Windows. Before testing the hypothesis, several statistical tests were carried out, such as the assumption test, which included the normality and linearity test. The results showed a significant negative relationship between social support and academic procrastination in the students, and the correlation coefficient value obtained wasr = -0.380 and p = 0.000 (p <0.05). This indicates that the higher the level of social support obtained by students, the lower the academic procrastination behavior carried out, and vice versa. Therefore, the hypothesis in this study is accepted.
