An Analysis of Metaphoric Symbol “Tree” in Myanmar Poem “Pyin Ma Ngote Toe” and Russian Poem “The White Birch”

This paper compares two poems each describing a “tree” which endured the strike of the war and revived again when an appropriate time came. Myanmar national poet Min Thu Won's poem “Pyin Ma Ngote Toe” (the Old Stump) and Russian poet Alexandrovich Vasilyev's poem (The White Birch) are selected for analysis and comparison as they are similar in a way that both were composed after World War II and, the miserable images of the war and the appearance of each tree before and after the war are perfectly described. The descriptive method is used to compare how the salient features of these two trees in the respective poems symbolize the hard time during the war and the revival of nature as they came about to life again. The students of Russian specialization can be expected to appreciate the aesthetic value of nature and life thereby being able to embrace the historic and cultural beauties of the two countries through their learning and enjoyment of such a genre of literature as poetry

Graphene is neither Relativistic nor Non-Relativistic case: Thermodynamics Aspects

Discovery of electron hydrodynamics in graphene system has opened a new scope of analytic calculations in condensed matter physics, which was traditionally well cultivated in science and engineering as a non-relativistic hydrodynamics and in high energy nuclear and astro physics as relativistic hydrodynamics. Electrons in graphene follow neither non-relativistic nor relativistic hydrodynamics and thermodynamics. Present article has gone through systematic microscopic calculations of thermodynamical quantities like pressure, energy density, etc. of electron-fluid in graphene and compared with corresponding estimations for non-relativistic and ultra-relativistic cases. Identifying the Dirac fluid and Fermi liquid domains, we have sketched the transition of temperature and Fermi energy dependency of electron thermodynamics for graphene and other cases. An equivalent transition for quark matter is also discussed. The most exciting part is the general expression of specific heat, whose Fermi to Dirac fluid domain transition can be realized as a transition from a solid-based to a fluid-based picture. This understanding may be connected to the experimentally observed Wiedemann-Franz Law violation in the Dirac fluid domain of graphene system.Comment: 16 pages, 13 figure

This article discusses the interference analysis of medium voltage air line 20 kv feeder using failure mode and effects analysis method. The distribution network consists of two parts, the first the distribution network consists of two parts, the first is the medium / primary voltage (JTM) network, which supplies electrical power from the sub-transmission substation to the distribution substation, the primary distribution network uses three wires or four wires for three phases. the impact of the reliability index from the calculation of the impact of the reliability index based on the number of disturbances (SAIFI), it shows that in January 2019 it has the highest index value, namely SAIFI, 1,695 disturbances/ subscribers. From the results of the calculation of the impact of the reliability index based on the number of blackouts (SAIDI), it shows that in January 2019 the SAIDI index value was 3,883 hours/customer

Sonic Integrity Test on Piles Founded in Bangkok Subsoil: Signal Characteristics and Their Interpretations

    Get PDF
Sonic integrity testing is a common method used to test the integrity of piles in Bangkok. An acoustic technique equipped with computer software, developed by TNo. PDL IFCO, etc. is commonly used to test the piles. This paper presents the signal characteristics and their interpretations from sonic integrity test performed on mainly bored piles varying in length, size, construction method and founded soil strata. Toe reflection of small bored piles (diameter of 0.35m to 0.60m) constructed in Bangkok subsoil can be observed for pile length of up to 20m to 24m. Beyond 35m below the ground, visibility of toe reflection is uncommon for large bored piles (diameter of 0.80m and larger). Commonly predicted defects and frequency of occurrences are tabulated. Data sets have been selected from the Data Bank of a foundations specialists\u27 organization to which the authors are associated with. Recently completed and current projects in Bangkok have been selected so that the data set could be well represented by over 8000 piles. 285 piles (3.3%) out of 8689 piles have been interpreted for poor concrete or inclusions, cracks and size reduction. Among these, cracks contribute the major portion (2.2% or 194 piles). Cracks are mainly induced by either improper excavation adjacent to the piles or trimming the pile head by ill fated ways. Small diameter piles are the most suffered by cracks. Prominent sectional variations have been indicated by the signals at depth where temporary casing ends. Intermittent variations also are common at the interface of soft clay and medium to stiff clay layers

Design and Optimization of Aircraft Configuration for Minimum Drag

    Get PDF
This paper presents a reliable and robust optimization for minimum drag of an aircraft at the conceptual design phase. Firstly, the conceptual design code was developed and existing Single Seat Aerobatic (SSA) aircraft was chosen to validate the reliability of developed code. The resulted data from the developed code showed good agreement with the existing data. Secondly, Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) optimizer was created and employed as a tool to explore possible aircraft configurations that are more efficient and less costly than an existing design. The optimized results gave lower Drag and better performance
