“Estimasi Parameter Model Regresi Robust Menggunakan Pembobot Welsch

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh suatu model persamaan regresi yang tidak terpengaruh oleh adanya pencilan. Data yang digunakan adalah data Produksi Jagung di Sulawesi Selatan Tahun 2015 yang diperoleh dari Badan Pusat Statistik Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Metode kuadrat terkecil merupakan salah satu metode yang sering digunakan untuk memperoleh nilai-nilai penduga parameter model regresi. Namun demikian, metode ini juga memiliki kelemahan, dimana penduga yang dihasilkan sangat dipengaruhi oleh adanya data yang polanya menyimpan dari pola umum data yang disebut pencilan. Dalam analisis regresi, adanya data pencilan dapat mengakibatkan residual dari data tidak berdistribusi normal sehingga estimasi koefisien regresi yang diperoleh tidak tepat. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan suatu model regresi yang tidak terpengaruh oleh adanya pencilan. Metode regresi robust dengan pembobot welcsh merupakan metode yang dapat mengatasi data pencilan. Perhitungan regresi robust dengan pembobot Welsch berlangsung secara iteratif sampai diperoleh estimasi parameter yang konvergen dengan estimasi sebelumnya

ABSTRACT AULIA FILIQ ASMARANI, 2011, DIFFICULTIES IN ENGLISH TEACHING-LEARNING ACTIVITY FOR 8th GRADE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN SMP NEGERI 4 KARANGANOM, English Diploma Program, Faculty of Letters and Fine Arts, Sebelas Maret University. This final project was written based on the writer’s job training activities as an English teacher in SMP Negeri 4 Karanganom. By observing the class and teaching directly at the 8th grade class, the writer could write the final project completely. The purpose was to describe the English teaching-learning activity conducted in SMP Negeri 4 Karanganom. Besides, the writer also discussed the solution to the problems faced by both the teacher and the students during English teaching-learning activity. There were some problems during English teaching and learning activities for 8th grade students in SMP Negeri 4 Karanganom. The difficulty faced by the teacher was class management, which were noisy student, lazy student, and passive student. The difficulties faced by the students were lack of grammar and vocabulary. Language style among characters in different social classes in crash movie

This research focused on finding out the language style used by the characters in different social class, and in different situation. The theory applied in this research, to get the real essence of language style that the characters used and several elements that influence on their speech, is sociolinguistic language style by William Labov. The result shows that only two language styles that appear in the movie, those are formal style and casual style. The characters who use formal style, in this case, are those who come from upper class, upper middle class, and lower middle class. Meanwhile, the casual style is used by all of the characters in different social class. On the other hand, there are disparities as the reflection of anger by these characters, i.e. formal style is used by the characters in upper class and lower middle class, and the others apply the casual style. In the normal situation, all characters apply casual style, however, only upper class, upper middle class, lower middle class uses formal style

CLASSROOM RESEARCH: the Idea of Teachers as Researchers

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendiskusikan ide tentang guru yang juga berperanan sebagai peneliti. Pemikiran ini timbul dari kenyataan bahwa pihak yang dominan melakukan penelitian tentang hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan proses belajar mengajar adalah peneliti bukan guru yang terlibat langsung dalam proses belajar mengajar. Hal ini akan menimbulkan beberapa permasalahan. Sementara itu pihak guru sendiri belum tentu menyambut baik ide tentang guru sebagai peneliti dengan alasan kesibukan mengajar untuk menutupi alasan sebenarnya yang tidak terucapkan. Sebenarnya banyak manfaat yang bisa dipetik baik oleh guru sendiri maupun oleh pembelajar kalau penelitian tentang kegiatan/materi belajar mengajar dilakukan oleh guru kelas yang bersangkutan

PERJUANGAN EKSISTENSIAL DUA TOKOH PEREMPUAN JAWA DALAM NOVEL ENTROK KARYA OKKY MADASARI

ABSTRAK Tujuan penulisan makalah ini adalah untuk mengkaji perjuangan eksistensial tokoh Ibu dan anak perempuan dalam novel Entrok karya Okky Madasari. Metode penelitian kontekstual yang digunakan didukung oleh prinsip-prinsip eksistensialisme yang dibawa ke ranah eksistensi perempuan Jawa. Dalam kerangka analisis feminisme, lecut balik eksistensial juga menjadi salah satu faktor pendukung analisis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan-perempuan Jawa yang memperjuangkan bentuk eksistensi yang dianggap berbeda oleh patriarki harus menghadapi serangkaian lecut balik yang membawa kehancuran eksistensi. KataKunci:perjuangan eksistensial, eksistensi perempuan Jawa, feminisme, lecut balik eksistensial ABSTRACT The aim of writing this paper is to analyze the existential struggles of a mother and a daughter in Okky Madasari’s novel entitled Entrok. The contextual method of analysis is used which is supported by the concepts of existentialism brought into the sphere of Javanese women existence. Within the feminism frame of analysis, existential backlash also becomes one of the factors supporting the analysis. The result of the analysis indicates that the Javanese women who fight for the existential forms considered different by the patriarchy have to face a series of existential backlashes leading to the existential downfall. The Housewife’s Resistance as Portrayed in Somerset Maugham’s Short Story Entitled `The Colonel’s Lady`

The focus of this paper is to analyze the domination and resistance in the domestic area as portrayed in Maugham‟s The Colonel’s Lady. The special aims are to analyze the factors that trigger the wife‟s resistance, the kind of resistance carried out by the wife, and the impacts of the wife‟s resistance on the husband. The analysis is supported by the concept of power by Foucault, the concepts of resistance and how to face domination by Vinthagen and Johanson, Husu, Butler et al., Cohen and Taylor, and Woolf. The qualitative method is used in the contextual analysis focusing on the character, conflict, and setting. The result shows that the wife subtly resists the constricting patriarchal atmosphere in the household by constructing a private area in which she actualizes herself in the world of poetry. Her great success enables her to enter a new and different zone where she is the star. This makes the husband feel uncomfortable and even insulted but he cannot do anything because his wife still shows her respect to him and she does nothing unlawful against him
