Mehar Methods for Fuzzy Optimal Solution and Sensitivity Analysis of Fuzzy Linear Programming with Symmetric Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers
The drawbacks of the existing methods to obtain the fuzzy optimal solution of such linear programming problems, in which coefficients of the constraints are represented by real numbers and all the other parameters as well as variables are represented by symmetric trapezoidal fuzzy numbers, are pointed out, and to resolve these drawbacks, a new method (named as Mehar method) is proposed for the same linear programming problems. Also, with the help of proposed Mehar method, a new method, much easy as compared to the existing methods, is proposed to deal with the sensitivity analysis of the same type of linear programming problems
Nutritional Status of School Children Aged 8-12 Years in Deprived Areas of Mauritius
This study investigated the nutritional status of school children in deprived areas of Mauritius and determined whether specific socio-economic factors were associated with poor nutritional status among children. A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 240 primary school children aged 8-12 years old. Out of 27 schools located in the deprived regions of Mauritius, eight of them were selected for the study. The data collection tools included a questionnaire, anthropometric measurements (weight and height) and a 24-hour dietary recall. A questionnaire was used to gather information on the socioeconomic profile of the children and their eating patterns. The Centre for Disease Control (CDC) BMI-for-age and stature-for-age percentiles were used to identify children who were stunted (<5th percentile stature-for-age), underweight (< 5th BMI-for age percentile), overweight (85th to 95th percentile BMI-for age) or obese (≥95th percentile BMI-for-age). Findings revealed that the main meals taken by the children included breakfast, lunch and dinner. Ninety two percent of the children mentioned taking breakfast in the morning; the most commonly consumed food commodities being bread, margarine, cheese, jam and tea; milk, yoghurt, fruits or fruit juice were rarely consumed. Packed lunches consisted mainly of eggs and convenience foods such as sausages without any vegetables. Poor snacking habits, that is, high consumption of salty corn-based snacks, were identified among these children. Age of school children was significantly associated (p<0.05) with the amount of money spent on snacks at school. Anthropometric measurements revealed the prevalence of both undernutrition and overnutrition among the children. Thirty seven per cent of the children were underweight, four per cent were overweight, three per cent were obese and there were no cases of stunting. The study findings indicate that the children are being fed the wrong kinds of foods or the wrong proportions. Thus, there is a need for local education and health authorities to develop nutrition education programmes that are contextually sensitive to specifically target school children and parents in deprived areas of Mauritius.Key words: Nutritional status, deprived children, Mauritiu
Modified Approach for Optimization of Real Life Transportation Problem in Neutrosophic Environment
To the best of our knowledge, there is only one approach for solving neutrosophic cost minimization transportation problems. Since neutrosophic transportation problems are a new area of research, other researchers may be attracted to extend this approach for solving other types of neutrosophic transportation problems like neutrosophic solid transportation problems, neutrosophic time minimization transportation problems, neutrosophic transshipment problems, and so on. However, after a deep study of the existing approach, it is noticed that a mathematical incorrect assumption has been used in these existing approaches; therefore there is a need to modify these existing approaches. Keeping the same in mind, in this paper, the existing approach is modified. Furthermore, the exact results of some existing transportation problems are obtained by the modified approach
The Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey: IV. Resolved dust analysis of spiral galaxies
We present a resolved dust analysis of three of the largest angular size
spiral galaxies, NGC 4501 and NGC 4567/8, in the Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey
(HeViCS) Science Demonstration field. Herschel has unprecedented spatial
resolution at far-infrared wavelengths and with the PACS and SPIRE instruments
samples both sides of the peak in the far infrared spectral energy distribution
(SED).We present maps of dust temperature, dust mass, and gas-to-dust ratio,
produced by fitting modified black bodies to the SED for each pixel. We find
that the distribution of dust temperature in both systems is in the range ~19 -
22 K and peaks away from the centres of the galaxies. The distribution of dust
mass in both systems is symmetrical and exhibits a single peak coincident with
the galaxy centres. This Letter provides a first insight into the future
analysis possible with a large sample of resolved galaxies to be observed by

The far-infrared view of M87 as seen by the Herschel Space Observatory
The origin of the far-infrared emission from the nearby radio galaxy M87
remains a matter of debate. Some studies find evidence of a far-infrared excess
due to thermal dust emission, whereas others propose that the far-infrared
emission can be explained by synchrotron emission without the need for an
additional dust emission component. We observed M87 with PACS and SPIRE as part
of the Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey (HeViCS). We compare the new Herschel data
with a synchrotron model based on infrared, submm and radio data to investigate
the origin of the far-infrared emission. We find that both the integrated SED
and the Herschel surface brightness maps are adequately explained by
synchrotron emission. At odds with previous claims, we find no evidence of a

The Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey: I. Luminosity functions
We describe the Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey (HeViCS) and the first data
obtained as part of the Science Demonstration Phase (SDP). The data cover a
central 4x4 sq deg region of the cluster. We use SPIRE and PACS photometry data
to produce 100, 160, 250, 350 and 500 micron luminosity functions (LFs) for
optically bright galaxies that are selected at 500 micron and detected in all
bands. We compare these LFs with those previously derived using IRAS, BLAST and
Herschel-ATLAS data. The Virgo Cluster LFs do not have the large numbers of
faint galaxies or examples of very luminous galaxies seen previously in surveys

The Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey: II. Truncated dust disks in HI-deficient spirals
By combining Herschel-SPIRE observations obtained as part of the Herschel
Virgo Cluster Survey with 21 cm HI data from the literature, we investigate the
role of the cluster environment on the dust content of Virgo spiral galaxies.We
show for the first time that the extent of the dust disk is significantly
reduced in HI-deficient galaxies, following remarkably well the observed
'truncation' of the HI disk. The ratio of the submillimetre-to- optical
diameter correlates with the HI-deficiency, suggesting that the cluster
environment is able to strip dust as well as gas. These results provide
important insights not only into the evolution of cluster galaxies but also
