    Analysis of the rear leg rotation movement during the fencing lunge

All the authors coincide thai it is important to keep the whole sole of the rear Foot supported on the Boor, keeping the same direction and without sliding it during the movernent, being the only one support that assures a really fast and balanced lunge, allowing the return to the on guard position or to continue towards ahead. Nevertheless, in a competition it may be observed that there are just a few fencers that keep the position of the feet in 90° angle during the lunge, as proposed in the fencing books. From this situation, we try to know if the rotation movement of the rear leg improve the speed of the Mass Centre and the weapon

    [ES] El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar las tendencias de la investigación en judo como deporte de combate por medio de un análisis bibliométrico de la producción científica en la base de datos WebofScience,a través de los 336 artículos publicados entre los años 2007 al 2017. Tras utilizar la metodología Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta‐Analysis (PRISMA‐P), la muestra del estudio fueron 88 artículos. Se analizaron diferentes tipos de variables agrupadas en: a) características institucionales; b) características de la muestra; y c) métodos e instrumentos de investigación. Los resultados mostraron que los años más productivos fueron 2014 y 2016, donde el número medio de autores fue de 4,56±1,79, y el de citas en la Web of Science fue de 9,25±11,9. El mayor porcentaje de publicaciones presentó una muestra masculina, de alto rendimiento y bajo la disciplina de la teoría del entrenamiento. La metodología más utilizada fue el estudio observacional con estadística univariante a través de instrumental y hojas de observación. Los parámetros más estudiados fueron los fisiológicos y los técnico‐tácticos. Parece ser que el judo como deporte de combate muestra mayor interés científico en su carácter deportivo y competitivo.     Kinematic pattern of the drag-flick: a case study

    The drag-flick is more efficient than hits or pushes when a penalty corner situation is in effect in field hockey. Previous research has studied the biomechanical pattern of the drag-flick, trying to find the cues for an optimal performance. On the other hand, some other studies have examined the most effective visual pick-up of relevant information in shots and goalkeeper anticipation. The aim of this study was to analyse the individual differences in the drag-flick pattern in order to provide relevant information for goalkeepers. One female skilled drag-flicker participated in the study. A VICON optoelectronic sy stem (Oxford Metrics, Oxford, UK) was used to capture the drag-flicks with six cameras. The results showed that the main significant differences between right and left shots (p<0.05) in the stick angles, stick minimum angular velocity and front foot-ball distance were when the front foot heel contacted the floor(T1) and at the minimum velocity of the stick, before the dragging action (T3). The findings showed that the most relevant information might be picked up at the ball-and-stick location before the dragging action

    Influence of liquid-to-biogas ratio and alkalinity on the biogas upgrading performance in a demo scale algal-bacterial photobioreactor

    The influence of the liquid-to-biogas ratio (L/G) and alkalinity on methane quality was evaluated in a 11.7 m3 outdoors horizontal semi-closed tubular photobioreactor interconnected to a 45-L absorption column (AC). CO2 concentrations in the upgraded methane ranged from <0.1 to 9.6% at L/G of 2.0 and 0.5, respectively, with maximum CH4 concentrations of 89.7% at a L/G of 1.0. Moreover, an enhanced CO2 removal (mediating a decrease in CO2 concentration from 9.6 to 1.2%) and therefore higher CH4 contents (increasing from 88.0 to 93.2%) were observed when increasing the alkalinity of the AC cultivation broth from 42 ± 1 mg L−1 to 996 ± 42 mg L−1. H2S was completely removed regardless of the L/G or the alkalinity in AC. The continuous operation of the photobioreactor with optimized operating parameters resulted in contents of CO2 (<0.1%–1.4%), H2S (<0.7 mg m−3) and CH4 (94.1%–98.8%) complying with international regulations for methane injection into natural gas grids.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version

    La Eficacia del Efecto Látigo en el Dragflick en Hockey Hierba

    El penalty córner es una de las jugadas más importantes en el hockey hierba. El drag-flick es la técnica de golpeo más eficaz en las jugadas de penalty córner (McLaughin, 1997). Los objetivos del presente estudio fueron el describir los parámetros cinemáticos del drag-flick en jugadores de nivel internacional y analizar las diferencias intergénero. La muestra fueron trece sujetos, un modelo, seis hombres y seis mujeres. El sistema de captura automático VICON registró 20 lanzamientos de cada jugador con una frecuencia de muestreo de 250 Hz. Las velocidades máximas angulares de las caderas, hombros y stick fueron superiores (p<0.01) en el modelo que en ambos grupos de género. Mediante la comparación estadística del modelo con ambos grupos de género se han podido determinar las claves de este gesto técnico, siendo necesario un movimiento hacia atrás del stick (efecto látigo) antes de la aceleración de caderas y hombros, para terminar el gesto con la máxima aceleración del stick

    Valoración de la Fuerza Explosiva General y Específica en Futbolistas Juveniles de Alto Nivel.

    La fuerza explosiva es una capacidad física fundamental en el fútbol, por lo que su valoración resulta importante para el control y planificación del entrenamiento. El objetivo de este estudio fue valorar la Fuerza explosiva general y específica en futbolistas juveniles de alto nivel. 21 jugadores pertenecientes a un club de alto nivel (16,1 ± 0,2 años; 1,77 ± 0,06 m; 67,7 ± 6,3 kg) llevaron a cabo un test general de fuerza explosiva (salto vertical con contra movimiento -CMJ) y un test específico (golpeo de balón con la máxima potencia), obteniéndose, a través de una plataforma de fuerzas Dinascan IBV y de un sistema de captura automática del movimiento en 3D Vicon, datos de diversas variables relacionadas con la fuerza explosiva, siendo posteriormente registrados en una hoja de cálculo Excel diseñada al efecto. Se observa que los tests llevados a cabo proporcionan, en un corto periodo de tiempo, una información de gran relevancia para el control y la planificación del entrenamiento con el objetivo de intentar optimizar el rendimiento de los futbolistas
