Needs before means: the dialectics of learning and technology

The general argument advanced in this paper is that in the changing context of present-day higher education it is vital that our educational purposes and student needs are clarified before decisions are taken about the means, including the use of learning technology, of satisfying those purposes and needs. The development of a critical understanding is still seen as the central purpose of higher education even in the context of a more vocationally relevant mass higher education. It is argued here that dialogue is the key to critical learning based on a process of dialectical communication. The task then is to construct an understanding learning environment which fosters interaction between students, staff and resources, reconciling individual needs with collective purposes. The specific role of learning technology as a means of encouraging dialogue within a learning environment is illustrated through examples of language learning such as TLTP CKS33 and the RACE Hipernet Project. Through a dialectical process, the appropriate use of learning technologies in meeting students' changing needs can be progressively refined

MOTIF PELAJAR SMA SEKOLAH ISLAM DI GRESIK DALAM MENONTON TAYANGAN PROGAM ACARA “ISLAM” KTP DI SCTV (Study Deskriptif Motif Pelajar Sma Sekolah Islam Di Gresik Dalam Menonton Tayangan Progam Acara “Islam KTP” Di SCTV)

Tujuan penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apa motif pelajar SMA Sekolah Islam Gresik dalam menonton acara ISLAM KTP di SCTV. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Teori pendekatan uses and gratification yaitu khalyak dianggap aktif menggunakan media untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya. Menunjukkan bahwa yang menjadi permasalahan utama bukanlah bagaimana media mengubah sikap dan perilaku khalayak tetapi bagaimana media memenuhi kebutuhan pribadi dan sosial khalayak dalam tabel frekuensi yang selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif. Pengolahan data dari kuesioner terdiri dari mengedit, mengkode, dan memasukkan tabel frekuensi berdasarkan kategori yang ditentukan. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah pelajar SMA Sekolah Islam Gresik kelas 1, 2, 3 yang masi aktif. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar motif pelajar SMA Sekolah Islam di Gresik pada motif informasi, motif integritas dan interaksi sosial,dan motif hiburan termasuk kategori tinggi, sedangkan motif identitas personal pada kategori sedang. Rate and Mechanism of the Oxidative Addition of Benzoic Anhydride to Palladium(0) Complexes in DMF

The rate constant of the oxidative addition of the benzoic anhydride (PhCO)2O to [Pd0(PPh3)4] has been determined in DMF and compared to that of phenyl halides and phenyl triflate. The following reactivity order has been established: PhI >> (PhCO)2O > PhOTf > PhBr. The oxidative addition of (PhCO)2O proceeds by activation of one C−O bond. Two acyl-PdII complexes are formed: a neutral complex trans-[(PhCO)Pd(OCOPh)(PPh3)2] and a cationic complex trans-[(PhCO)PdS(PPh3)2]+ (S = DMF) showing that the decarbonylation process is highly endergonic. The exchange of PPh3 by the bidentate ligand dppp does not favor the decarbonylation process.

Santa fingida y falsos prodigios : el proceso instruido por el Tribunal de Toledo contra María Pizarro, ilusa (1636-1641)

En el siglo XVII frente a la proliferación de movimientos heterodoxos que se desarrollaron entorno a la fe mística y a extravagancias pseudoreligiosas originadas por un afán de prácticas maravillosistas, el Tribunal de la Inquisición de Toledo tuvo que juzgar algunos casos de superchería religiosa, como lo fue el de María Pizarro en 1636, acusada de ilusa y condenada como tal en 1641. A través de un proceso muy completo, varios fenómenos sobrenaturales, maravillosos, estructuran la vida de esta mujer : una vida repleta de visiones y de demonios cuyos efectos fomentaron su veneración popular como santa. ¿Cómo y por qué la Inquisición de Toledo, preocupada por la popularidad de esta mujer que gozó de los honores de santidad durante más de catorce años, decidió pronunciar una opinión contraria y perseguirla por el delito de ilusa ? Y sobre todo, ¿ por qué (consciente o inconscientemente, lo que tratará de averiguar el Tribunal inquisitorial) se hizo pasar por una santa ? ¿ Qué beneficios podía sacar de ello a nivel religioso y social ? PENETAPAN KADAR SENYAWA α-MANGOSTIN PADA SEDIAAN DECOCTA KULIT BUAH MANGGIS (Garcinia mangostana L.)

Kulit buah manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) dapat dimanfaatkan dalam sediaan herbal berupa decocta. Kandungan utama senyawa aktif pada kulit buah manggis adalah α-mangostin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar senyawa α-mangostin pada sediaan decocta kulit buah manggis dengan metode KCKT. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan membuat sediaan decocta kulit buah manggis (Gacinia mangostana L.) menggunakan pelarut air. Penetapan kadar ini menggunakan metode KCKT dengan fase diam C18, fase gerak methanol : asam formiat 0,1% dalam air (75:25), deteksi UV. Penetapan kurva baku dilakukan dengan kurva baku senyawa standard. Berdasarkan persamaan konsentrasi dan luas area sampel dari α-mangostin diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi untuk kurva baku α-mangostin cukup baik yaitu sebesar 0,999 maka kurva baku standard dapat digunakan untuk menghitung konsentrasi α-mangostin pada sediaan decocta kulit buah manggis Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kadar α-mangostin dalam sediaan decocta kulit buah manggis adalah (0,2644 ± 8,3067x10-2)%

Now, because culturally an aura of wickedness precedes the female condition, to judge the driving of a woman is not simple. The question which appears from the confrontation of the trials of witches and visionaries studied is the following one : as far as anybody does not know the real intentions of the women which have a link with the supernatural, in which their slightest schemes are going to be able to be likened to a devilish or heterodox threat which it is advisable to counter ?Aux XVIe et XVIIe siècles, personne n'échappe au poids de la relation à l'autre, ni à son regard, pas même les femmes.
