Nursing care for central venous catheter obstruction
A central venous catheter stops working properly when it is impossible or difficult to infuse enteral therapy or nutrition by some light and / or when there is difficulty or impossibility of the blood to flow back. Before withdrawal of the catheter, an attempt should be made to solve the problem and recover the normal functionality of the catheter. The mechanical complications of central venous access are frequent and can sometimes compromise the patient's life

Ethics and Aesthetics for Enhancing Design and Transforming Social Reality
Design is preponderant in the world economy; it allows competition and enhances the development of innovations in the market. The expansion of product offerings provides options to satisfy the user’s needs, which is an undeniable advance driven by design. However, this has led to a significant increase in the production of solid waste related to design, which generates environmental deterioration. Additionally, the supply of design products has been concentrated in the most economically favored sector, leaving out a large part of the world’s population which are not met because they are not a market of interest for the productive industry in general.
The content of this paper is the result of a collective debate from the authors, based on the analysis of documentary sources and their own experience as academics. Our objective is to encourage discussion for the creation of a common front oriented towards a design practice focused simultaneously on social development and environmental care; a design practice based on ethics and commitment to the environment and society
A data generator for covid-19 patients’ care requirements inside hospitals
[EN] A Spanish version of the article is provided (see section before references). This paper
presents the generation of a plausible data set related to the needs of COVID-19 patients
with severe or critical symptoms. Possible illness’ stages were proposed within the context
of medical knowledge as of January 2021. The parameters chosen in this data set were
customized to fit the population data of the Valencia region (Spain) with approximately 2.5
million inhabitants. They were based on the evolution of the pandemic between September
2020 and March 2021, a period that included two complete waves of the pandemic.
Contrary to expectation and despite the European and national transparency laws (BOE-A2013-12887, 2013; European Parliament and Council of the European Union, 2019), the
actual COVID-19 pandemic-related data, at least in Spain, took considerable time to be
updated and made available (usually a week or more). Moreover, some relevant data
necessary to develop and validate hospital bed management models were not publicly
accessible. This was either because these data were not collected, because public agencies
failed to make them public (despite having them indexed in their databases), the data were
processed within indicators and not shown as raw data, or they simply published the data
in a format that was difficult to process (e.g., PDF image documents versus CSV tables).
Despite the potential of hospital information systems, there were still data that were not
adequately captured within these systems.
Moreover, the data collected in a hospital depends on the strategies and practices specific
to that hospital or health system. This limits the generalization of "real" data, and it
encourages working with "realistic" or plausible data that are clean of interactions with
local variables or decisions (Gunal, 2012; Marin-Garcia et al., 2020). Besides, one can parameterize the model and define the data structure that would be necessary to run the
model without delaying till the real data become available. Conversely, plausible data sets
can be generated from publicly available information and, later, when real data become
available, the accuracy of the model can be evaluated (Garcia-Sabater and Maheut, 2021).
This work opens lines of future research, both theoretical and practical. From a theoretical
point of view, it would be interesting to develop machine learning tools that, by analyzing
specific data samples in real hospitals, can identify the parameters necessary for the
automatic prototyping of generators adapted to each hospital. Regarding the lines of
research applied, it is evident that the formalism proposed for the generation of sound
patients is not limited to patients affected by SARS-CoV-2 infection. The generation of
heterogeneous patients can represent the needs of a specific population and serve as a
Learning contract, co-operative and flipped learning as useful tools for studying metabolism
Es el Abstract de una comunicación a un congreso internacional sobre educaciónUndergraduate students in Biology identify Metabolic Biochemistry as a particularly difficult subject. This is due to the fact that students need to interconnect properly all the contents of its syllabus throughout their study of the subject in order to get a global insight of the complex regulatory features controlling metabolic pathways within the metabolic network under different physiologic and pathologic conditions, as well as metabolism as a whole. Due to these objective difficulties, a high percentage of our students face the study of this subject as a very hard task beyond their forces and capacities. This perception leads to high rates of premature dropout. In previous years, less than 40% of all the registered students attended the examinations of Metabolic Biochemistry (a subject in the second year of the Degree of Biology at our University). Even worse, less than 25% of our students passed the exams.
From the academic year 2015/16 on, we are developing innovative teaching projects (PIE15-163 and PIE17-145, funded by University of Malaga) aimed to increase our student loyalty to the subject (and hence to increase their attendance to exams) and to help them to learn more effectively metabolism and its regulation. These innovative teaching projects are based on the use of several powerful tools: a learning contract and problem-based learning within the framework of group tasks promoting an actual collaborative learning in a flipped classroom.
The present communication will show the implementation of the PIE15-163 and PIE17-145 projects and some results obtained from them. This work was supported by Malaga University funds granted to the educational innovation project PIE17-145. The attendance to the END2018 International Conference on Education and New Developments (June 2018, Budapest, Hungary) has received a grant from "I Plan Propio Integral de Docencia. Molecular gas in the immediate vicinity of Sgr A* seen with ALMA
We report serendipitous detections of line emission with ALMA in band 3, 6,
and 7 in the central parsec of the Galactic center at an up to now highest
resolution (<0.7''). Among the highlights are the very first and highly
resolved images of sub-mm molecular emission of CS, H13CO+, HC3N, SiO, SO, C2H,
and CH3OH in the immediate vicinity (~1'' in projection) of Sgr A* and in the
circumnuclear disk (CND). The central association (CA) of molecular clouds
shows three times higher CS/X (X: any other observed molecule) luminosity
ratios than the CND suggesting a combination of higher excitation - by a
temperature gradient and/or IR-pumping - and abundance enhancement due to UV-
and/or X-ray emission. We conclude that the CA is closer to the center than the
CND is and could be an infalling clump consisting of denser cloud cores
embedded in diffuse gas. Moreover, we identified further regions in and outside
the CND that are ideally suited for future studies in the scope of hot/cold
core and extreme PDR/XDR chemistry and consequent star formation in the central

behavior of the market and the demand for a product, has always been fundamental
for the companies. Therefore, various efforts have been made to create
methodologies to predict with a high degree of accuracy the behavior of a
business. Usually, statistical models of linear prediction and statistical
descriptive have been the most used for its simplicity and easy interpretation. In this work
a model of recurrent neural networks LSTM was carried out to predict the units
invoiced for a certain reference, reaching low error levels, which confirms
the reliability of the demand forecasting too
