Development of an FPGA-based gate signal generator for a multilevel inverter
The application of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) in the development of power electronics circuits control scheme has drawn much attention lately due to its shorter design cycle, lower cost and higher density. This paper presents an FPGA-based gate signal generator for a multilevel inverter employing an online optimal PWM switching strategy to control its output voltage. FPGA is
chosen for the hardware implementation of the switching strategy mainly due to its high computation speed that can
ensure the accuracy of the instants that gating signals are
generated. The gate signal generator has been realized by an FPGA (FLEXlOKZO) from Altera. The design and development of the FPGA based gate signal generator is
described in detail. Results from the timing simulation using MAX+PLUSII software are given and verified by the results obtained from the FLEXlOK2O output

A whole-health-economy approach to antimicrobial stewardship: Analysis of current models and future direction.
Antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) strategies are widely implemented in single healthcare sectors and organisations; however, the extent and impact of integrated AMS initiatives across the whole health economy are unknown.
Assessing degree of integration of AMS across the whole health economy and its impact is essential if we are to achieve a ‘One Health’ approach to addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and therefore we searched systematically for and analysed published examples of integrated AMS initiatives to address this gap.
Application of a system-level framework to analyse integration of AMS initiatives across and within healthcare sectors shows that integration is emerging but needs strengthening.
Findings from a small number of evaluations in high-income countries suggest that antimicrobial prescribing and healthcare-associated infections can be reduced using a multisectoral integrated AMS approach.
More robust research designs to evaluate and understand the impact of multisectoral integrated AMS are needed, particularly with respect to differing health systems in different countries and local organisational contexts.
Our analysis highlights a number of challenges and ways forward for enhancing the delivery of AMS through an integrated approach
Phase-Fitted and Amplification-Fitted Higher Order Two-Derivative Runge-Kutta Method for the Numerical Solution of Orbital and Related Periodical IVPs
A phase-fitted and amplification-fitted two-derivative Runge-Kutta (PFAFTDRK) method of high algebraic order for the numerical solution of first-order Initial Value Problems (IVPs) which possesses oscillatory solutions is derived. We present a sixth-order four-stage two-derivative Runge-Kutta (TDRK) method designed using the phase-fitted and amplification-fitted property. The stability of the new method is analyzed. The numerical experiments are carried out to show the efficiency of the derived methods in comparison with other existing Runge-Kutta (RK) methods

A novel Multi-permittivity Cylindrical Dielectric Resonator Antenna for Wideband Applications
In this paper, a novel multi-permittivity cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna for wideband application is presented. The multi-permittivity cylinder is formed by combining two different permittivity material sectors in such a way that each sector (with constant permittivity) is 90 degree apart. A direct microstrip line coupling terminated with T-stub at the open end is used to excite the multi-permittivity cylindrical dielectric resonator. The angular position of the multi sector dielectric resonator with respect to the longitudinal axis of the microstrip line and length of the additional strip at the open end of the feeding circuit is key parameters for wideband operation of the antenna. By optimizing all parameters of the proposed antenna, wideband impedance bandwidth of 56% (12.1 GHz - 21.65 GHz) is achieved. The average gain of the antenna throughout the bandwidth is 5.9 dB with good radiation properties in both E-plane and H-plane. A well matched simulation and experimental results show that the antenna is suitable for wideband applications

The establishment of minimum luminous range for existing lighthouses in the age of global navigation satellite system by limiting the luminous range within geographical range
Long range marine aids to navigation is not required by current marine navigational practice, therefore luminous range of lighthouses should be reduced. The objective of this study is to determine a minimum luminous range for major lighthouses. The minimum luminous ranges is determined by conducting two steps, namely by modifying the existing geographical range formula and determine a strong linear correlation between light intensity and luminous range with the lowest gradient as possible in a linear graph. The application of minimum luminous range would eliminate the loom of light beyond the lighthouse's geographical range, which is not necessary for current navigational practice. This method is applied to seven major lighthouses in Peninsular Malaysia, which resulted minimum luminous range that ranging from 12.2 nm to 14 nm. The existing luminous ranges of these lighthouses are ranging from 18 nm to 25 nm. These new minimum luminous ranges are sufficient for mariners who primarily rely on GNSS, reduce service provider operational cost and may sustain lighthouses operation in the future
