A Study of Cowboy Diction with a Glossary of Terms
This thesis is a study of cowboy speech in its origin and process of formation with a glossary of terms. I do not attempt to present an exhaustive study. The words that I have gathered are representative, for the most part, are taken from books that have been written by men who spent the early part of their lives in the saddle, and thus have been in a position to use and know the speech of vaquero. No doubt there are many words and many phrases which I have not found. I present only that group which has been available through careful examination of those books included in my bibliography

A Study of some Relationships between Level of Self-Concept, Academic Achievement and Classroom Adjustment
The purpose of this study is two-fold: (1) to evaluate an instrument for measuring the self-concept of middle grade children; and (2) to determine the relationship of a middle-grade child's self-concept to his peer status, his classification by the teacher as a problem in behavior or classroom management, and to his academic achievement
Graduate College Climate Survey
The purpose of this survey is to assess the diverse climate of graduate students’ experiences at ISU.
The retention and persistence of graduate students at ISU continues to be an ongoing topic of conversation within the graduate college and academic departments. Graduate students play an integral role in research and scholarship on campus and it is critical that the department and lab climate foster a positive environment for all graduate students at ISU. In an unhealthy climate, students are less likely to adjust academically and are less likely to develop a sense of belonging on the campus. Assessing campus climate and then taking action to create and sustain a healthy climate are essential steps to creating an environment that supports the fundamental mission of the university —teaching, research, and service. Addressing climate benefits all campus community members, not just historically underrepresented students, faculty and staff.
Our aims are to provide an outlet for graduate students to share their experiences within departments, bring awareness of climate issue, and equip faculty, staff and students with the skills and tools need to address current and future problems

The impact of seatback angle on electromyographical activity of the lower back and quadriceps muscles during bilateral knee extension
This study investigated variations in electromyographic (EMG) responses of the erector spinae (ES), vastus medialis (VM), rectus femoris (RF), and vastus lateralis (VL) to different seatback angles during leg extension. Twenty men and women (10 men, 10 women; age 27.49 +/- 6.16 years) performed 8 repetitions at 70% of 8 repetition maximum at seatback angles of 1.57, 1.75, and 1.92 radius (rad). Analyses using repeated-measures analysis of variance indicated the greatest root square mean of the EMG (rmsEMG) and integrated EMG (intEMG) for the ES were at 1.92 rad, and the greatest for the VM (concentric) and VL (eccentric) were at 1.57 rad. No differences were observed among seat angles for the RF except for a higher normalized intEMG at 1.92 than 1.75 rad (concentric). Throughout all sets for all conditions and muscles, rmsEMG and intEMG significantly increased and median power frequency significantly decreased. These data indicate that a seatback angle of 1.57 rad is best for a leg extension machine, because this angle maximizes quadriceps activity while minimizing stress on the lower back muscles
Identification of sources of information on nutrition assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS and the importance to the role of health professionals.

Suggestive Poses : Artists and Critics Respond to Censorship
An anthology of essays by 12 authors - artists and critics - in response to various facets of censorhip in the arts, including the issue of pornography at large. J. Greyson's preface introduces Eveto, a fictional character personifying censorship, then discusses the Ontario Censor Board and the Six Days of Resistance which took place in April 1984 in the Toronto area, to finally expose the merits of civil disobedience. Johnson's introduction refers to the genesis of the book project and retraces some of the battles over censorship and the visual arts in Canada. Includes compilations of short texts, facts and statistics grouped under themes such as "Children and Sex", "Homophobia", "Empowerment", etc. Artist's pages by H. Tam, Kiss & Tell, S. Adelman. 135 bibl. ref
