    Análise do impacto da implantação de sistemas ERP nas características organizacionais das empresas de construção civil

    Uma das causas do insucesso do ERP nas empresas de construção civil é o fato da implantação desse sistema ser uma grande mudança organizacional. O objetivo desta pesquisa é identificar como a implementação do sistema ERP impacta na organização e nos processos gerencias das empresas de construção civil. Foi realizada uma survey em uma amostra de empresas construtoras brasileiras. Os dados foram coletados por meio de um questionário encaminhado por email a dois grupos de empresas: com e sem ERP implantado. A partir da análise estatística discriminante foi possível identificar as variáveis relacionadas ao nível de desenvolvimento dos processos de gestão e as características organizacionais que mais distinguem os dois grupos de empresas. Os resultados revelaram que a implantação do ERP impacta nas variáveis da maturidade organizacional nos seguintes aspectos: visão estratégica, relacionamento com cliente, gerenciamento de recursos humanos, gestão financeira e de TI

    PubMedID: 12845395The therapeutic efficacy and safety of beta-adrenoreceptor-blocking drugs has been well established in patients with angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmias, and hypertension and reducing the risk of mortality and nonfatal reinfarction on survival of acute myocardial infarction. The calcium antagonists are used for the treatment of patients with angina pectoris, long-term systemic hypertension, and the management of hypertensive emergencies and also for a multitude of other cardiovascular and noncardiovascular conditions. Because adverse cardiovascular effects can occur, however, patients being considered for combination treatment with propranolol and diltiazem must be selected carefully and observed closely.     Citizenship and Civic Education for Refugees and Migrants

    In this special issue of JSSE we explore refugees and migrant\u2019s issues from the angle of citizenship and civic education. Forced migration always has been an issue that makes many people displaced from their home and it is mostly caused by war, religion, ethnicity, and political conflicts, and climate change. Refugees generally experience terrible transfer conditions, with the risk of survival and after they arrive at their \u201cnew home\u201d they encounter many difficulties, besides the financial ones, such as language barrier and cultural adaptation. Host countries have been trying to ease these difficulties and issues. Nonetheless, one of the unnoticed, but very important issues is that providing proper education to the refugees and migrants, who are of school age, which is expected to help them to understand and grasp common civic values of the host country. Therefore, in this issue we are presenting articles that discuss the philosophical and theoretical aspects of citizenship education regarding migrants in general terms and paying attention to how they are adapted to the national identity of the host country as well. We also have one piece that shows examples of good practices for teaching about migration. Finally, we have one article from outside Europe, Bangladesh, that discuss how this hosting country deals with the educational needs of a refugee group

    Introduction: Nerium oleander is a toxic ornamental plant which usually grows in the Mediterranean area. In the past it was used to produce cardiotonic medicine and there are studies on using this plant as an anti-cancer medicine and on its use in alternative medicine for many causes. Case Presentation: Our case was of a 36 years old male who came to the emergency department with sore throat and burning feel in the throat following his curious bite of the oleander leaf. He had no trouble of breathing. The physical examination of the mouth showed burn-like lesions and edema of the uvula, oropharyngeal hyperemia, congestion and on the second day; necrosis. The edema and necrosis were later reduced with the treatment. We discharged the patient after observing for three following days without any complications or side effects. Conclusion: Besides the systemic effects of the oleander plant, this case demonstrates that it could cause serious tissue necrosis when applied locally and corrosive esophagitis when taken by oral way. Patients must be examined and followed also for local toxic effects. © 2019 Emergency Medicine Association of Turke

    Altered vascular reactivity due to endothelial dysfunction, consequent to vascular damage, is observed in rheumatoid arthritis. We investigated the effect of angiotensin (Ang)-(17) on vasculature changes in arthritis induced by complete Freund's adjuvant in male Wistar rats. Arthritis decreased soluble receptor for advanced glycation end products (sRAGE) whereas elevated aortic RAGE expression, increased interleukin-1 beta (IL-1 beta) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), systolic blood pressure and the contractility induced by phenylephrine and KCl. Moreover, arthritis decreased the relaxing effect of acetylcholine. Neither arthritis nor Ang-(17) altered sodium nitroprusside relaxation. Ang-(1-7) reversed the effect of arthritis on TNF-alpha, sRAGE and RAGE expression without any effect on the IL-1 beta. Ang-(1-7) decreased phenylephrine and KCl contractility, especially in the endothelial-denuded aorta, whereas increased acetylcholine relaxation in the endothelial-intact aorta.     WOS: 000307427000005Mudurnu-Goynuk basin of the Sakarya Zone in NW Anatolia comprises ca. 1500 m thick Paleocene-Eocene terrestrial to shallow marine succession overlying the Late Cretaceous deeper marine progradational fore-arc sediments. Formed in a foreland setting in relation to southerly situated izmir-Ankara suture zone, this terrestrial succession (regionally known as Kizilcay group) comprises a thin (<200 m) oil shale-bearing lacustrine section with very good cyclic patterns that potentially serves the quantification of stratigraphy and enlightening the origin of cyclicities of various hierarchy. Our detailed fades analysis on three correlative measured sections showed that mudstone, oil shale and thinner limestone alternations characterize the relatively deeper part of the Eocene lake with probable marine intervention, while thicker limestone, coal, marl and occasional oil shale alternations typify the southern relatively freshwater shoal areas. These facies are frequently organized as meter-scale symmetric to asymmetric transgressive-regressive cycles. Spectral analysis of the mudstone beds and the cycles within the lacustrine succession strongly indicates the occurrence of full bands of Milankovitch with the shortest precession cycle (19 ka) at ca. 2.30 m. Our observations further revealed quite rhythmic thin couplets with estimated durations of 365-730 yr that might represent abrupt climatic changes during deposition. On the other hand, longer duration (ca. 1 Ma) of shoaling and deepening trends in the studied sections were attributed basically to varying subsidence due to tectonic loading in the southerly suture zone. Lastly, regarding the distribution of depositional environments we propose that the oil shale exploration activities should be carried out within a 20 km wide E-W running belt while the southern limits of this belt is more prolific for coal resources.     Rotator cuff metastases: A report of two cases with literature review

    Context: Distant metastases of primary malignancies to the skeletal muscle tissue are a very rare event. Distant metastases that affect the rotator cuff are even rarer, and only a few of cases have been reported so far. Case Report: The present article reports two cases that presented to our hospital with the complaint of shoulder pain and had a soft tissue mass affecting the muscles of the rotator cuff and invading the neighboring bone compartments. One of the patients developed mucoepidermoid cancer metastasis of the submandibular gland, and the other was found to have a malignant epithelial tumor metastasized from the lower lobe of the right lung, whose primary origin could not be diagnosed until the imaging examinations were employed. Ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging fi ndings are presented in this paper. Conclusion: Metastases to the muscle tissues could be misdiagnosed as primary sarcomas. Because the therapy regiments and prognoses are fairly different for these two entities, the possibility of a metastasis to the muscle tissue must be considered as a differential diagnosis for case of painful soft tissue mass. Ultrasound is very useful in detection of the lesion and acts as a very important tool during guidance for biopsy. Magnetic resonance imaging, however, is a very valuable asset in the evaluation of the borders of the soft tissue mass and its invasive effect on the bony tissues. Particularly when the features such as lobulated contours, peripheral edema, and intratumoral necrosis exist, the possibility of metastases must be considered. © 2014, North American Journal of Medical Sciences.     Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the effect of immunoregulatory cytokine interleukin-10 (IL-10) gene therapy on pancreas tissue rejection in a heterotopic pancreas transplantation model. Background: Modulation of inflammatory responses by anti-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IL-10) has been suggested to minimize organ rejection. In this context, modulation of cytokines using gene therapy could be a new therapeutic modality in preventing organ rejection. Methods: The study was performed using male inbred Wistar rats as recipients and Sprague-Dawley rats as donors. 24 h before transplantation, groups of rats, named IL-10 (n = 20) and green fluorescent protein (GFP, n = 20), were injected with viral vectors Ad5CMVhIL10 or Ad5CMVGFP. Sham-operated rats (n = 20) underwent saline injection only before transplantation. The pancreatic tissue from each of these donor rats was subsequently transplanted into the corresponding groups of streptozotocin-induced diabetic recipient rats. Recipients were thus transfected with either IL-10 (n = 20), GFP-only carrying viral vectors (n = 20) or no viral vectors (normal saline, n = 20). A selected (n = 5) was sacrificed at weekly intervals for 3 weeks and some were further followed up to 12 weeks before sacrifice. Histological assessment of the pancreatic tissue was made based on rejection and GFP expression. Blood glucose levels were checked daily in all groups until sacrifice. Upon sacrifice, serum cytokine and insulin levels were measured. Histopathological correlations between blood glucose levels, serum insulin levels and serum IL-10 levels were made. Results: IL-10 gene therapy significantly attenuated pancreas rejection compared to controls, provided more normal blood glucose levels and elevated plasma insulin levels. Upon assumed natural deactivation of transferred viruses after 4 weeks, differences between groups in terms of rejection, blood glucose and insulin levels disappeared. Conclusion: These findings suggest that IL-10 gene therapy significantly reduced pancreas rejection. Copyright (C) 2005 S.
