Separation of Sediment Contents and Water from Crude Oil of Khurmala and Guwayer Oil Fields in Kurdistan Region by using Centrifuge Method

The present research paper is aimed at determining water and sediment contents in crude oil by using centrifuge method in laboratory in which ASTM D 4007-02 is used to analyze the samples. Furthermore, water and sediment contents in crude oil should be removed because for custody transfer process purchasers prefer to pay only for crude oil and want to minimize the quantity of water and sediment contents in crude oil. Presence of water and sediment contents in crude oil creates problems such as corrosion of equipment when dealt in oil industry along with the problem of oil viscosity. We examined sixteen samples. Four samples were taken from Guwayer oil site area and remaining four from Khurmalla oil site area. These samples were analyzed properly at MNR laboratory in Kurdistan Region-Iraq. The crude oils is considered as the best if it contains less water and sediment content and the vice versa is for the worst quality of crude oil .The method is easy and sharp to check the quantity of sediments and water in crude oil samples in lab and this quantity helps to tell the quality of crude oil

With the development of globalization and the emergence of global English, numerous studies have been concerned with the ways Arabic is influenced by English, the adoption of many English loanwords by Arab speakers and the dominance of English as a lingua franca in different Arab countries including Saudi Arabia. These studies generally investigate the effects of global English on the Arab linguistic and cultural identity. The majority of these studies tend to list what they refer to as risks of the dominance of English loanwords in Arabic and assert the importance of keeping Arabic pure from these words which are described asدخيل  dakhil (literally meaning strange and outsider). Very few studies have been done on exploring the ways English loanwords are used in Saudi Colloquial Arabic (SCA) and the relationship between the use of English loanwords and some sociolinguistic variables such as sex, age, geographic location, and education. In the face of this, this article is concerned with exploring the relationship between sex and the use of English loanwords in Saudi Colloquial Arabic (SCA). In order to do this, the study is based on a corpus of English loanwords in Saudi Colloquial Arabic (SCA) with the purpose of investigating the frequency of English loanwords in the speeches of male and female speakers and describing the morphological adaptations used by male and female speakers. Results indicate that there are significant differences between Saudi male and female speakers in the use of English loanwords in terms of frequency, topics, and morphological adaptations. The sex or gender of the speaker is an important factor in determining the frequency, distribution, and the morphological adaptations of English loanwords in SCA

The relationship between the mobile phone service providers and their service consumers since the about seven years ago when mobile phone became fully integrated into Nigeria society is to say the least rough. Accusations of poor services coupled with high charges are levied against the service providers and in defense the service providers blame it on high running cost especially fuelling and maintenance of generating sets for power supplies. Hence, for mobile phone service providers to provide satisfactory service to their customers, there is need for efficient power management system. This work finds the average power supply per day, cost of the Base Transceiver Station (BTS) generating set, cost of installing the generating set, fuel consumption of the generating set per certain periods based on BTS equipment data provided by one of the service providers, routine maintenance cost of the generating sets, etc and compare these with Photovoltaic (PV) system. The findings reveal that an environmental friendly renewable energy technology, a photovoltaic system is a potent alternative power source especially when life cycle cost (LCC) analysis is invoked and the site management scheme proposed is adopted. PV system has been found to be cost competitive with the conventional system

Preparation and characterization of dual buoyant/mucoadhesive polypropylene microparticles (MPs) loaded with repaglinide (REP) for gastric drug delivery in order to augment the weak mucoadhesion in the stomach.Porous foam powder MPs were prepared using coating polymers with variable permeability (Eudragit L100, Eudragit RSPO) alone or in combination by the soaking method. Thiolated Eudragit L100 (Eudragit L100-SH) was also synthesized and tried in an attempt to enhance the mucoadhesive properties of MPs. All formulae were characterized for their yield, flow properties, particle size, encapsulation efficiency (EE %), morphology, and drug release and its mechanistics. Possible interactions inside MPs matrix were also elucidated using FTIR study. The suitability of the selected formulae for gastroretention was evaluated by in vitro buoyancy and ex-vivo mucoadhesion studies. All REP-loaded MPs demonstrated a passable powder flow, high yield values, promising floatation and mucoadhesion. Encapsulation efficiency % values were nearly tripled upon addition of Eudragit polymers. Compared to the Eudragit free REP loaded foam powder, all formula showed more sustained release features. Eudragit L100-SH was synthesized and confirmed by FTIR. Furthermore, its incorporation, alone or in combination, exhibited a significant increase in mucoadhesion strength compared to the unmodified one.Dual buoyant/mucoadhesive MPs loaded with REP encourage planning for future in-vivo performance studies for the management of diabetes

Formulation of hybrid 3D image segmentation algorithm based partial differential equation

Segmentation is an important tool for analysis and understanding of most images encountered in science and engineering. One of the best segmentation methods that can perform 3D segmentation is the level-set method which has its mathematical foundation in partial differential equation (PDE). Owing to its complex nature, it exhibits a level of unacceptable sluggishness on implementation hence a need to hasten up the process by hybridizing it with a faster region-based segmentation method which is inherently a logical approach to segmentation pivoted on thresholding but not as good in segmentation as the former. This work presents a mathematical hybrid of the two methods that is hoped to produce a better segmentation result

This study investigated the nutritional value of pre-treated rice and wheat bran wastes as feed formulation in experimental rats. Aspergillus niger KM isolated from decomposing organic matter was tested for cellulase assay. The lignocellulosic agricultural residues (wheat bran and rice bran) were pretreated with ammonia and diluted sulfuric acid after which solid substrate fermentation with Aspergillus niger KM was carried out. Determination of reducing sugar was carried out and the fermented residues were included as components in feed formulation and were fed to different groups of rats for four weeks. The proximate analysis of the feed formulation showed that the NH3 pretreated feeds gave higher protein content of 21.94%, relative to the control or other groups. Growth performances of animals fed with NH3 pretreated wheat bran significantly increased from 158.25 to 201.66 g throughout the feeding periods. Evaluation of the various feeds’ effect on tissue marker enzymes revealed inconsistent alterations relative to the control. Bioconverted wheat or rice bran has nutritive value to support animal growth and could be explored in animal feed preparation

Background: The lack of studies regarding the neuroendocrine tumors (NET) is related to the rarity of these tumors .Long acting Octreotide is an established treatment for NETs by both providing symptomatic relief & inhibiting tumor growth. However, studies regarding incidence of NETs & their response to long acting Octreotide are still insufficient. Objectives: To study the clinico-pathologic characteristics of Iraqi patients with NET & their response to long acting Octreotide. Patients & methods: This is a cross-sectional observational study that was conducted in Oncology teaching hospital using patients’ follow-up records. Data recruitment included all NET patients diagnosed after October 2013. Results: During the study period (2 years) ,38 patients were recorded in Iraq/oncology teaching hospital NET Registry. Patients ` data (age, gender, site of the tumor, metastatic status as well as type of therapy applied) were collected. Twenty one (55.3 %)of the patients were males, M:F=1.2:1 , while 23 patients (60.5%) were over the age of 50 years .The gastroenteropancreatic (GEP) tract being the most common primary site followed by pelvis We found metastatic disease at presentation in 17 (44.7% ) of patients and the Liver was the most common metastatic site found in (15.8%, 6 patients). Seventeen (44.7%) patients presented with Grade 3 . Most common therapy applied in our patients included systemic chemotherapy, surgery, long acting Sandostatin & radiotherapy for palliation only according to both NCCN & ESMO guidelines. The median time of remission following Somatostatin analogue (SSA) administration was 3 months compared to 7 months in patients received other modalities of treatment (p=0.003). Conclusion: Octreotide LAR provides symptomatic response & contributes to disease stabilization & tumor regression in both functional & non functional NETs

In Image Guided neuro-Surgery (IGnS) protocol relating to tumor, the planning stage is the bottleneck where most times are spent reconstructing the slices in order to; quantify the tumor, get the tumor shape and location relative to adjacent cells, and determine best incursion route among others. This time consuming assignment is handled by a surgeon using any of the standardized IGnS software. It has been observed that the approach taken to quantify tumor in those software are simply replicating the surgeons’ experience-based brain tumor quantification technique fashionable in the pre-imaging era. The result is a quantification method that is time consuming, and at bests an approximation. What is presented here is a novel brain tumor quantification method based on step response algorithm utilizing a model which itself was based on step response model resulting in smart and rapid quantification of brain tumor volume
