Reference Ontology and (ONTO)2 Agent: The Ontology Yellow pages
Knowledge reuse by means of ontologies faces three important problems at present: (1) there are no standardized identifying features that characterize ontologies from the user point of view; (2) there are no web sites using the same logical organization, presenting relevant information about ontologies; and (3) the search for appropriate ontologies is hard, time-consuming and usually fruitless. To solve the above problems, we present: (1) a living set of features that allow us to characterize ontologies from the user point of view and have the same logical organization; (2) a living domain ontology about ontologies (called Reference Ontology) that gathers, describes and has links to existing ontologies; and (3) (ONTO)2Agent, the ontology-based WWW broker about ontologies that uses Reference Ontology as a source of its knowledge and retrieves descriptions of ontologies that satisfy a given set of constraints
Spin transport of electrons through quantum wires with spatially-modulated strength of the Rashba spin-orbit interaction
We study ballistic transport of spin-polarized electrons through quantum
wires in which the strength of the Rashba spin-orbit interaction (SOI) is
spatially modulated. Subband mixing, due to SOI, between the two lowest
subbands is taken into account. Simplified approximate expressions for the
transmission are obtained for electron energies close to the bottom of the
first subband and near the value for which anticrossing of the two lowest
subbands occurs. In structures with periodically varied SOI strength, {\it
square-wave} modulation on the spin transmission is found when only one subband
is occupied and its possible application to the spin transistor is discussed.
When two subbands are occupied the transmission is strongly affected by the
existence of SOI interfaces as well as by the subband mixing
Novel sources of Flavor Changed Neutral Currents in the model
Sources of Flavor Changed Neutral Currents (FCNC) naturally emerge from a
well motivated framework called 3-3-1 with right-handed neutrinos model,
for short, mediated by an extra neutral gauge boson .
Following previous works we calculate these sources and in addition we derive
new ones coming from CP-even and -odd neutral scalars which appear due to their
non-diagonal interactions with the physical standard quarks. Furthermore we
show that bounds related to the neutral mesons systems and may be significantly strengthened in the presence of these new
interactions allowing us to infer stronger constraints on the parameter space

Crystal Structure and Physical Properties of U3T3Sn4 (T = Ni, Cu) Single-Crystals
Heat capacity experiments, crystal structure determination and transmission
electron microscopy have been carried out on U3Cu3Sn4 single-crystals. U3Cu3Sn4
was confirmed to be a heavy-fermion antiferromagnet (TN=13(1) K) with a low
temperature electronic heat capacity coefficient gamma=390 mJ/molUK2. Low
temperature heat capacity experiments on a U3Ni3Sn4 single-crystal indicate
that below 0.4 K there is a crossover between the previously observed non-Fermi

Durability of concrete structures in marine atmosphere zones – The use of chloride deposition rate on the wet candle as an environmental indicator
Durability of concrete structures under marine environments has been studied for a long time. This work was focused on marine atmosphere zone and studied the deposition of chlorides on wet candle devices and its relation with chlorides accumulated into concrete. Concrete specimens with three different mixtures were exposed at places located at four different distances from the sea. Periodically, chloride profiles were obtained and analysed taking into account environmental data. Results of numerical extrapolations show that chloride deposition rate on the wet candle can be used as an environmental indicator, helping to preview the expectancy of service life of concrete structures or suggesting minimum concrete cover thicknesses for a required service life. Regarding the studied region, service life decreases between 30% and 60% were observed when changing chloride deposition from 120 mg/m2 day to 500 mg/m2 day, which shows that chloride deposition plays an important role as an environmental indicator on service-life analysis of concrete structures in marine atmosphere zone

Photometric and spectroscopic variability of the B5IIIe star HD 171219
We analyzed the star HD171219, one of the relatively bright Be stars observed in the seismo field of the CoRoT satellite, in order to determine its physical and pulsation characteristics. Classical Be stars are main-sequence objects of mainly B-type, whose spectra show,or have shown at some epoch, Balmer lines in emission and an infrared excess. Both characteristics are attributed to an equatorially concentrated circumstellar disk fed by non-periodic mass-loss episodes (outbursts). Be stars often show nonradial pulsation gravity modes and, as more recently discovered, stochastically excited oscillations. Applying the CLEANEST algorithm to the high-cadence and highly photometrically precise measurements of the HD171219 light curve led us to perform an unprecedented detailed analysis of its nonradial pulsations. Tens of frequencies have been detected in the object compatible with nonradial g-modes. Additional ighresolution ground-based spectroscopic observations were obtained at La Silla (HARPS) and Haute Provence (SOPHIE) observatories during the month preceding CoRoT observations. Additional information was obtained from low-resolution spectra from the BeSS database. From spectral line fitting we determined physical parameters of the star, which is seen equator-on (i = 90 ). We also found in the ground data the same frequencies as in CoRoT data. Additionally, we analyzed the circumstellar activity through the traditional method of violet to red emission H line variation. A quintuplet was identified at approximately 1:113 c d\u1000001 (12.88 Hz) with a separation of 0:017 c d\u1000001 that can be attributed to a pulsation degree ` 2. The light curve shows six small- to medium-scale outbursts during the CoRoT observations. The intensity of the main frequencies varies after each outburst, suggesting a possible correlation between the nonradial pulsations regime and the feeding of the envelope
