One of the programs from the Merdeka Campus is the Teaching Campus, where students are given the opportunity to become educators in schools. Campus Teaching is a teaching activity in schools and part of the Merdeka Campus program. Muhammadiyah University of Kendari in the Information Technology Education department has used this program as one of the quality improvements for students. Students who take part in this program do community service as one of the programs that can help students at the school. An explainer video is a short animated video that focuses on explaining a theme in a simple, attractive way, using clear and concise language, using attractive visuals so that it quickly catches the attention of viewers. Explainer animation is more concerned with content than execution, so it is suitable as a medium for entertainment as well as socialization in society Explainer videos are not taught in the school curriculum, so students do not know how to make them. With this lack, the students from the Teaching Campus program held a Video Explainer Making Training for students at SMKN 6 Kendari as a student skill in the field of information technology. With this training, the participants already have knowledge about what an explainer video is like, both from its function and usability. Participants are also able to make simple explainer videos according to the concepts that have been made by each participant. The results of the practical evaluation of the enthusiastic trainees in completing the explainer videos were made in accordance with the concepts created by the participants, and the participants gave the impression that this activity was quite meaningful and could provide additional knowledge about the understanding of explainer videos

Angle-Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy of Tetragonal CuO: Evidence for Intralayer Coupling Between Cupratelike Sublattices

    Get PDF
We investigate by angle-resolved photoemission the electronic structure of in situ grown tetragonal CuO, a synthetic quasi-two-dimensional edge-sharing cuprate. We show that, in spite of the very different nature of the copper oxide layers, with twice as many Cu in the CuO layers of tetragonal CuO as compared to the CuO2 layers of the high-T-c cuprates, the low-energy electronic excitations are surprisingly similar, with a Zhang-Rice singlet dispersing on weakly coupled cupratelike sublattices. This system should thus be considered as a member of the high-T-c cuprate family, with, however, interesting differences due to the intralayer coupling between the cupratelike sublattices.open1199sciescopu

PG. Soedhono is a company engaged in the sugar factory. The demand for production targets during the milling period makes operators experience high pressure, causing a mental workload. There are several mental workload problems that exist related to the problem of working hours that are more than 8 hours of work and the existence of work accidents in PG. Soedhono several years ago. Research at PG. Soedhono aims to analyze the workload experienced by workers in 5 different divisions with the number of samples taken from the entire population of 45 people. This study uses the NASA-TLX method to determine the mental workload experienced by each operator. The measurement results using the Nasa-TLX method and using the ANOVA statistical test which shows that the highest workload is in the Engineering Division of 84.7 and there are differences in workloads in 5 divisions. Some indicators of mental workload that affect each work station are, in the administration and finance division the most influential indicator is mental demand and effort, for the quality assurance division the most influential indicator is mental demand, for the plant division there are indicators that are the most influential. is effort, for processing division the most influential indicators are physical demand and own performance, and the Engineering division the most influential indicator is effort

Effects of magnetic field induced chiral-spin interactions on quasi-one-dimensional spin systems

It is known that in certain non-bipartite quasi-one dimensional spin systems in a magnetic field, in addition to the usual Pauli coupling of the spins to the field, new parity breaking three spin interactions, i.e. chiral spin interactions, are induced at higher order due to virtual processes involving the intrinsic electronic nature of the underlying spins. The strenght of these interactions depend strongly on the orientation of the field, a feature which can be exploited to detect chiral effects experimentally. In many spin systems, these chiral interactions are generated and should be taken into account before any comparison with experiments can be made. We study the effect of the chiral interactions on certain quasi-one-dimensional gapped spin half systems and show that they can potentially alter the physics expected from the Pauli coupling alone. In particular, we demonstrate that these terms alter the universality class of the C-IC transition in spin-tubes. More interestingly, in weakly coupled XX zig-zag ladders, we find that the field induced chiral term can close the singlet gap and drive a second order transition in the non-magnetic singlet sector, which manifests itself as a two component Luttinger liquid-like behaviour in the spin correlation functions. Finally, we discuss the relevance of our results to experiments.Comment: RevTex, 11 pages, 3 figure

Type 2 diabetes mellitus and osteoarthritis

Objectives: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and osteoarthritis (OA) are common diseases that frequently co-exist, along with overweight/obesity. While the mechanical impact of excess body weight on joints may explain lower limb OA, we sought to explore whether T2DM is linked to OA outside of excess weight and whether T2DM may play a role in OA pathophysiology. The consequence of T2DM on OA outcomes is a question of research interest. Methods: We conducted a critical review of the literature to explore the association between T2DM and OA, whether any association is site-specific for OA, and whether the presence of T2DM impacts on OA outcomes. We also reviewed the literature to assess the safety of anti-OA treatments in patients with T2DM. Results: T2DM has a pathogenic effect on OA through 2 major pathways involving oxidative stress and low-grade chronic inflammation resulting from chronic hyperglycemia and insulin resistance. T2DM is a risk factor for OA progression and has a negative impact on arthroplasty outcomes. Evidence is mounting for safety concerns with some of the most frequently prescribed anti-OA medications, including paracetamol, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and corticosteroid injections, while other anti-OA medications may be safely prescribed in OA patients with T2DM, such as glucosamine and intra-articular hyaluronic acid. Conclusions: Future research is needed to better understand whether diabetes control and prevention can modulate OA occurrence and progression. The selection of therapy to treat OA symptoms in patients with T2DM may require careful consideration of the evidence based to avoid untoward safety issues. The meeting was funded by the ESCEO, a Belgian not-for-profit organization. P-tau235: a novel biomarker for staging preclinical Alzheimer's disease

    Get PDF
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is characterised by a long preclinical phase. Although phosphorylated tau (p-tau) species such as p-tau217 and p-tau231 provide accurate detection of early pathological changes, other biomarkers capable of staging disease progression during preclinical AD are still needed. Combining exploratory and targeted mass spectrometry methods in neuropathologically confirmed brain tissue, we observed that p-tau235 is a prominent feature of AD pathology. In addition, p-tau235 seemed to be preceded by p-tau231, in what appeared to be a sequential phosphorylation event. To exploit its biomarker potential in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), we developed and validated a new p-tau235 Simoa assay. Using three clinical cohorts, we demonstrated that (i) CSF p-235 increases early in AD continuum, and (ii) changes in CSF p-tau235 and p-tau231 levels during preclinical AD are consistent with the sequential phosphorylation evidence in AD brain. In conclusion, CSF p-tau235 appears to be not only a highly specific biomarker of AD but also a promising staging biomarker for the preclinical phase. Thus, it could prove useful tracking disease progression and help enriching clinical trial recruitment

Angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy of Sr_2CuO_2Cl_2 - a revisit

We have investigated the lowest binding-energy electronic structure of the model cuprate Sr_2CuO_2Cl_2 using angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES). Our data from about 80 cleavages of Sr_2CuO_2Cl_2 single crystals give a comprehensive, self-consistent picture of the nature of the first electron-removal state in this model undoped CuO_2-plane cuprate. Firstly, we show a strong dependence on the polarization of the excitation light which is understandable in the context of the matrix element governing the photoemission process, which gives a state with the symmetry of a Zhang-Rice singlet. Secondly, the strong, oscillatory dependence of the intensity of the Zhang-Rice singlet on the exciting photon-energy is shown to be consistent with interference effects connected with the periodicity of the crystal structure in the crystallographic c-direction. Thirdly, we measured the dispersion of the first electron-removal states along G->(pi,pi) and G->(pi,0), the latter being controversial in the literature, and have shown that the data are best fitted using an extended t-J-model, and extract the relevant model parameters. An analysis of the spectral weight of the first ionization states for different excitation energies within the approach used by Leung et al. (Phys. Rev. B56, 6320 (1997)) results in a strongly photon-energy dependent ratio between the coherent and incoherent spectral weight. The possible reasons for this observation and its physical implications are discussed.Comment: 10 pages, 8 figure
