VERSE 1I saw you playing with a child,You looked so sweet to me,It seemed as though that’s all you ought to do,You kissed it and caressed it, andThe whole world seemed to beA paradise for just that child and you,You were so loving, sweetheart,So gentle and so kind,I couldn’t help but frame this little picture in my mind: REFRAINI can picture a babe on your knee,While you’re singing some sweet lullaby,And the picture that I frame, my dear,Seems to spell the name of Mother, dearNow the picture just seems so complete,With the baby right there on your knee,You’re my sweetheart, that’s true,But when I look at youWhat a wonderful mother you’d be.I can be. VERSE 2The smile you smile was only meantTo cheer the whole world through,The arms you have are just meant to caress,You seem to do the little thingsThat mothers always do,Your mission in this life was just to bless,I like to sit and look at you,No matter when the time,I like to picture you as just a sweet sweetheart of mine: REFRAI

Mechanisms for collective inversion-symmetry breaking in dabconium perovskite ferroelectrics

    Get PDF
Dabconium hybrid perovskites include a number of recently-discovered ferroelectric phases with large spontaneous polarisations. The origin of ferroelectric response has been rationalised in general terms in the context of hydrogen bonding, covalency, and strain coupling. Here we use a combination of simple theory, Monte Carlo simulations, and density functional theory calculations to assess the ability of these microscopic ingredients—together with the always-present throughspace dipolar coupling—to account for the emergence of polarisation in these particular systems whilst not in other hybrid perovskites. Our key result is that the combination of A-site polarity, preferred orientation along h111i directions, and ferroelastic strain coupling drives precisely the ferroelectric transition observed experimentally. We rationalise the absence of polarisation in many hybrid perovskites, and arrive at a set of design rules for generating FE examples beyond the dabconium family alone

Implementation and sustainability factors of two early-stage breast cancer conversation aids in diverse practices

BACKGROUND: Conversation aids can facilitate shared decision-making and improve patient-centered outcomes. However, few examples exist of sustained use of conversation aids in routine care due to numerous barriers at clinical and organizational levels. We explored factors that will promote the sustained use of two early-stage breast cancer conversation aids. We examined differences in opinions between the two conversation aids and across socioeconomic strata. METHODS: We nested this study within a randomized controlled trial that demonstrated the effectiveness of two early-stage breast cancer surgery conversation aids, one text-based and one picture-based. These conversation aids facilitated more shared decision-making and improved the decision process, among other outcomes, across four health systems with socioeconomically diverse patient populations. We conducted semi-structured interviews with a purposive sample of patient participants across conversation aid assignment and socioeconomic status (SES) and collected observations and field notes. We interviewed trial surgeons and other stakeholders. Two independent coders conducted framework analysis using the NOrmalization MeAsure Development through Normalization Process Theory. We also conducted an inductive analysis. We conducted additional sub-analyses based on conversation aid assignment and patient SES. RESULTS: We conducted 73 semi-structured interviews with 43 patients, 16 surgeons, and 14 stakeholders like nurses, cancer center directors, and electronic health record (EHR) experts. Patients and surgeons felt the conversation aids should be used in breast cancer care in the future and were open to various methods of giving and receiving the conversation aid (EHR, email, patient portal, before consultation). Patients of higher SES were more likely to note the conversation aids influenced their treatment discussion, while patients of lower SES noted more influence on their decision-making. Intervention surgeons reported using the conversation aids did not lengthen their typical consultation time. Most intervention surgeons felt using the conversation aids enhanced their usual care after using it a few times, and most patients felt it appeared part of their normal routine. CONCLUSIONS: Key factors that will guide the future sustained implementation of the conversation aids include adapting to existing clinical workflows, flexibility of use, patient characteristics, and communication preferences. Brand Salience and Brand Differentiation of the Florida Forest Service

This study addressed the themes affecting the brand salience and brand differentiation of the Florida Forest Service (FFS). Six focus groups were conducted at different locations in Florida. FFS suffered from a lack of brand salience and differentiation. Brand salience is the extent to which a brand comes to mind for the public. Brand differentiation is the extent to which a brand separates itself from competitors in the public’s perceptions. Three themes emerged that affected brand salience: the importance of forests, brand identifiers, and external communications. Two themes emerged for affecting brand differentiation: forest and natural resources organizations and communications. The following recommendations were made for public organizations: ensure the organization’s brand is present in the public’s external environment, create salient messages and brand identifiers, test messages and brand identifiers prior to implementation, and consistently use messages and brand identifiers. The following recommendations were made for future research: replicate the research to other settings to address the transferability of the findings, conduct quantitative research to address brand salience and differentiation for public organizations in a generalizable manner, and research perceptions of public organizations’ communications
