State sum construction of two-dimensional open-closed Topological Quantum Field Theories

We present a state sum construction of two-dimensional extended Topological Quantum Field Theories (TQFTs), so-called open-closed TQFTs, which generalizes the state sum of Fukuma--Hosono--Kawai from triangulations of conventional two-dimensional cobordisms to those of open-closed cobordisms, i.e. smooth compact oriented 2-manifolds with corners that have a particular global structure. This construction reveals the topological interpretation of the associative algebra on which the state sum is based, as the vector space that the TQFT assigns to the unit interval. Extending the notion of a two-dimensional TQFT from cobordisms to suitable manifolds with corners therefore makes the relationship between the global description of the TQFT in terms of a functor into the category of vector spaces and the local description in terms of a state sum fully transparent. Pengaruh Transformational Leadership, Iklim Organisasi, Stres Kerja, terhadap Kompetensi Motivasi Kerja dan Kinerja Guru SMP Negeri di Provinsi Sulawesi Barat

The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of work stress, motivation, and competence of teachers, the performance of teachers in the province of West Sulawesi.The population in this study was the teacher of junior high school has been accredited by the Ministry of Education, with the criteria professorship at least 5 years, Minimum educational backgrounds S-1 and certified. They are a total of 269 junior high school teachers in four districts in West Sulawesi province, while samples taken by Slovin formula and the result was 161 respondents. This study used a questionnaire as the main instrument. And a questionnaire in the form of a modified Likert scale with response options from Agree to Strongly Agree. The data collected is processed by SEM (Structural Equation Modelling) technique with AMOS program version 19.These results indicate that the motivation and competence of junior high school teachers in West Sulawesi get high rankings in the category, and people could improve their performance. While the hypothesis testing results prove that: (1) Work stress a significant effect on the competence of teachers; (2) work motivation significant effect on the competence of teachers; (3) Stress significant effect on teacher performance; (4) Motivation significant effect on teacher performance; and (5) Competence of teachers significantly influence the performance of teachers. Thus, it means that the results of this study prove that all of this hypothesis is accepted

Two-dimensional quantum Yang-Mills theory with corners

The solution of quantum Yang-Mills theory on arbitrary compact two-manifolds is well known. We bring this solution into a TQFT-like form and extend it to include corners. Our formulation is based on an axiomatic system that we hope is flexible enough to capture actual quantum field theories also in higher dimensions. We motivate this axiomatic system from a formal Schroedinger-Feynman quantization procedure. Categorical formulation of quantum algebras

We describe how dagger-Frobenius monoids give the correct categorical description of certain kinds of finite-dimensional 'quantum algebras'. We develop the concept of an involution monoid, and use it to construct a correspondence between finite-dimensional C*-algebras and certain types of dagger-Frobenius monoids in the category of Hilbert spaces. Using this technology, we recast the spectral theorems for commutative C*-algebras and for normal operators into an explicitly categorical language, and we examine the case that the results of measurements do not form finite sets, but rather objects in a finite Boolean topos. Trace as an alternative decategorification functor

Categorification is a process of lifting structures to a higher categorical level. The original structure can then be recovered by means of the so-called "decategorification" functor. Algebras are typically categorified to additive categories with additional structure and decategorification is usually given by the (split) Grothendieck group. In this expository article we study an alternative decategorification functor given by the trace or the zeroth Hochschild--Mitchell homology. ANALISIS KEAUSAN BOWL DAN MANTLE CONE CRUSHER TERHADAP UKURAN PRODUK PADA PROSES PEREMUKAN SEKUNDER

Cone crusher yang digunakan merupakan bagian dari alat peremuk sekunder, dimana umpan yang akan dihancurkan oleh cone crusher merupakan produk dari alat peremuk primer yaitu jaw crusher. Cone crusher mempunyai fungsi agar ukuran produk yang dihasilkan optimal, sehingga dapat dilanjutkan dengan proses penggerusan menggunakan semi-autogeneous mill. Analisis keausan bowl dan mantle cone crusher pada proses peremukan sekunder didasarkan pada ukuran produk dihasilkan yang tidak sesuai dengan target perusahaan sebesar 30 mm. Keausan pada bowl dan mantle cone crusher dapat disebabkan beberapa faktor, antara lain tonase yang dihancurkan, kekerasan batuan, energi peremukan yang digunakan dan faktor operasi lainnya, sehingga diperlukan analisa lebih lanjut. Setiap cone crusher melakukan proses peremukan batuan sebanyak 1500 ton, bowl akan mengalami kehilangan ketebalan sebesar 2,37 mm dan mantle akan mengalami kehilangan ketebalan sebesar 3,57 mm. Kehilangan ketebalan pada bowl dan mantle akan mengakibatkan ukuran produk dari cone crusher menjadi lebih kasar. Pengukuran kehilangan ketebalan pada bowl dan mantle dilakukan dengan 2 cara atau metode, dengan menggunakan alat bernama distance meter laser serta mal. Hasil analisis keausan bowl dan mantle cone crusher adalah laju keausan (wear rate) mantle lebih besar dibandingkan dengan laju keausan bowl serta operasional parameter alat peremuk berpengaruh pada ukuran produk yang dihasilkan. Kata kunci: keausan, ukuran produk, bowl dan mantl

Astrophysical and Cosmological Tests of Quantum Theory

We discuss several proposals for astrophysical and cosmological tests of quantum theory. The tests are motivated by deterministic hidden-variables theories, and in particular by the view that quantum physics is merely an effective theory of an equilibrium state. The proposed tests involve searching for nonequilibrium violations of quantum theory in: primordial inflaton fluctuations imprinted on the cosmic microwave background, relic cosmological particles, Hawking radiation, photons with entangled partners inside black holes, neutrino oscillations, and particles from very distant sources.Comment: 25 pages. Inferior Cerebellar Hypoplasia Resembling a Dandy-Walker-Like Malformation in Purebred Eurasier Dogs with Familial Non-Progressive Ataxia: A Retrospective and Prospective Clinical Cohort Study

Cerebellar malformations can be inherited or caused by insults during cerebellar development. To date, only sporadic cases of cerebellar malformations have been reported in dogs, and the genetic background has remained obscure. Therefore, this study's objective was to describe the clinical characteristics, imaging features and pedigree data of a familial cerebellar hypoplasia in purebred Eurasier dogs. A uniform cerebellar malformation characterized by consistent absence of the caudal portions of the cerebellar vermis and, to a lesser degree, the caudal portions of the cerebellar hemispheres in association with large retrocerebellar fluid accumulations was recognized in 14 closely related Eurasier dogs. Hydrocephalus was an additional feature in some dogs. All dogs displayed non-progressive ataxia, which had already been noted when the dogs were 5 - 6 weeks old. The severity of the ataxia varied between dogs, from mild truncal sway, subtle dysmetric gait, dysequilibrium and pelvic limb ataxia to severe cerebellar ataxia in puppies and episodic falling or rolling. Follow-up examinations in adult dogs showed improvement of the cerebellar ataxia and a still absent menace response. Epileptic seizures occurred in some dogs. The association of partial vermis agenesis with an enlarged fourth ventricle and an enlarged caudal (posterior) fossa resembled a Dandy-Walker-like malformation in some dogs. Turning big bang into big bounce: II. Quantum dynamics

We analyze the big bounce transition of the quantum FRW model in the setting of the nonstandard loop quantum cosmology (LQC). Elementary observables are used to quantize composite observables. The spectrum of the energy density operator is bounded and continuous. The spectrum of the volume operator is bounded from below and discrete. It has equally distant levels defining a quantum of the volume. The discreteness may imply a foamy structure of spacetime at semiclassical level which may be detected in astro-cosmo observations.
