Thermal behaviors of light unflavored tensor mesons in the framework of QCD sum rule
In this study, we investigate the sensitivity of the masses and decay
constants of the light and tensor mesons to the
temperature using QCD sum rule approach. In our calculations, we take into
account the additional operators appearing in operator product expansion at
finite temperature. It is obtained that at deconfinement temperature the decay
constants and masses decrease with amount of and compared to their
vacuum values, respectively. Our results on the masses at zero temperature are
consistent with the vacuum sum rules predictions as well as the experimental

Running Multiple Instances of the Distributed Coordination Function for Air-time Fairness in Multi-Rate WLANs
Cataloged from PDF version of article.Conventional multi-rate IEEE 802.11 Wireless LANs (WLANs) are associated with the so-called performance anomaly to describe the phenomenon of high bit rate nodes being dragged down by slower nodes. This anomaly is known to be an impediment to obtaining high cumulative throughputs despite the employment of effective link adaptation mechanisms. To cope with the performance anomaly, air-time fairness has been proposed as an alternative to throughput fairness, the latter being a main characteristic of the IEEE 802.11 Distributed Coordination Function (DCF). In this paper, we propose a novel distributed air-time fair MAC (Medium Access Control) without having to change the operation of the conventional DCF. In the proposed MAC, each node in the system runs multiple instances of the conventional DCF back-off algorithm where the number of DCF instances for the nodes can be chosen in a distributed manner. Both analytical and simulation-based results are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed air-time fair MAC. © 2013 IEEE
Three new lichenicolous fungi records for Turkey and Asia
Three lichenicolous fungi, Abrothallus peyritschii, Lichenochora verrucicola and Sclerococcum montagnei, collected from Burdur and Bitlis provinces, are reported as new to Turkey, the latter species is also new to Asia. Short descriptions, including geographical distributions, hosts and comparisons with similar taxa are provided
A Many-to-Many 'Rural Hospital Theorem'
We show that the full version of the so-called ‘rural hospital theorem’ generalizes to many-to-many matching problems where agents on both sides of the problem have substitutable and weakly separable preferences. We reinforce our result by showing that when agents’ preferences satisfy substitutability, the domain of weakly separable preferences is also maximal for the rural hospital theorem to hold
The efficacy of endogenous gibberellic acid for parthenocarpy in eggplant (Solanum melongena L.)
Eggplants are generally grown by winter in Mediterranean areas. Therefore, growers prefer to use parthenocarpic fruit and plant growth regulators. This study determined the relationship between flower development and gibberellic acid (GA3) levels in parthenocarpic and non-parthenocarpic eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) genotypes. A single crop was grown in an unheated greenhouse at the Bati Akdeniz Agricultural Research Institute, Antalya, Turkey, and samples were collected from November to March, GA3 levels were measured with reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography at five different stages between small buds and small fruits. The results showed that there was no relationship between flower development and GA3 levels in parthenocarpic and non-parthenocarpic eggplant genotypes.Key words: HPLC, relation, cultivation, greenhouse, genotype, flower

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of different enamel conditioning protocols and their re-application on the microleakage of fissure sealants placed following saliva contamination.
Study design: The study included 156 human third molars in 16 subgroups (2×4×2) under two main groups (sealant type): Group A- hydrophobic resin sealant, 3M Clinpro™ Sealant; Group B- hydrophilic resin sealant, Ultraseal XT Hydro. Each group was then divided according to the type of surface conditioning; 1- Er,Cr:YSSG laser etching, 2- acid-etching, 3- acid-etching+etch-and-rinse adhesive (Prime&Bond® One Select) and 4- self-etching adhesive (Clearfil™SE Bond). After contaminating the conditioned occlusal enamel surfaces with artificial saliva, fissure sealant was applied in half of the specimens (a), whereas in the other half, (b) the respective surface conditioning was repeated and then fissure sealant was placed. Effects of Delayed Finishing/Polishing on Surface Roughness, Hardness and Gloss of Tooth-Coloured Restorative Materials
Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of delayed finishing/polishing on the surface roughness, hardness and gloss of tooth-coloured restorative materials. Methods: Four different tooth-coloured restoratives: a flowable resin composite- Tetric Flow, a hybrid resin composite- Venus, a nanohybrid resin composite- Grandio, and a polyacid modified resin composite- Dyract Extra were used. 30 specimens were made for each material and randomly assigned into three groups. The first group was finished/polished immediately and the second group was finished/polished after 24 hours. The remaining 10 specimens served as control. The surface roughness of each sample was recorded using a laser profilometer. Gloss measurements were performed using a small-area glossmeter. Vickers microhardness measurements were performed from three locations on each specimen surface under 100g load and 10s dwell time. Data for surface roughness and hardness were analyzed by Kruskal Wallis test and data for gloss were subjected to one-way ANOVA and Tukey test (P .05). The lowest hardness values were found under Mylar strip. Delayed finishing/polishing significantly increased the hardness of all materials. Conclusions: The effect of delayed finishing/polishing on surface roughness, gloss and hardness appears to be material dependent.PubMe
