    This article discusses the implementation of the problem based learning outcomes model in Islamic religious education learning at Senior High School (SMA) Negeri 2 Kalukku, Mamuju. The results showed that the Problem Based Learning model in Islamic Religious Education learning at SMA Negeri 2 Kalukku, Mamuju Regency, was as follows:  Planning the Problem Based Learning model in Islamic Religious Education learning was guided by the syllabus, lesson plans, learning objectives, learning methods and media, learning tools and resources which are an integral part that cannot be separated from all learning planning stages. Implementation of Problem Based Learning models, has met the standard Problem Based Learning model, educators have taken steps to learn by using the Problem Based Learning model in the field of study of Islamic Religious Education, and Assessment of learning outcomes consisting of attitude and knowledge assessment has been carried out well, but in terms of skills assessment it has not been able to be fulfilled properly

This type of research is a descriptive qualitative case study in the Selayar Islands Regency. The results of this study show that the form of professional competence of PAI teachers is seen from various assessments including mastery of materials, structures, concepts, and scientific mindsets that support PAI subjects

    Perbandingan Struktur Ukuran Tuna Madidihang (Thunnus Albacares) Yang Tertangkap Pada Rumpon Laut Dalam Dan Laut Dangkal Di Perairan Selat Makassar

    Yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) has long been captured by commercial fishery in Makassar Strait using purse seine, trolling line and handline fisheries. It was probably it can cause over exploitation and decrease population structure for that fish. This study aimed to analyze the size structure of yellowfin tuna based on the positions of deep and shallow sea FADs (fish aggregating devices). The data consisted of fish length and weight ) and the size of gonad maturation, which were collected from the field observation . The data were analyzed using histogram graph and t- test. The results indicated that the fish length caught in the deep and shallow sea FADs ranged from 30 to120 cm with the average of 101.39 ± 2.49 cm, and from 105 to 170 cm with the average of 134.90 ± 1.90, respectively. The fish weight ranged from 20 to75 kg for deep sea FADs and ranged from 0.4 to 35 kg for shallow sea FADs. The first stage of gonad maturation on either female or male occurred at 118.88 cm forklength, where the smallest spawning size on female was 126.10 cm forklength

    Root Zone Sensors for Irrigation Management in Intensive Agriculture

    Crop irrigation uses more than 70% of the world’s water, and thus, improving irrigation efficiency is decisive to sustain the food demand from a fast-growing world population. This objective may be accomplished by cultivating more water-efficient crop species and/or through the application of efficient irrigation systems, which includes the implementation of a suitable method for precise scheduling. At the farm level, irrigation is generally scheduled based on the grower’s experience or on the determination of soil water balance (weather-based method). An alternative approach entails the measurement of soil water status. Expensive and sophisticated root zone sensors (RZS), such as neutron probes, are available for the use of soil and plant scientists, while cheap and practical devices are needed for irrigation management in commercial crops. The paper illustrates the main features of RZS’ (for both soil moisture and salinity) marketed for the irrigation industry and discusses how such sensors may be integrated in a wireless network for computer-controlled irrigation and used for innovative irrigation strategies, such as deficit or dual-water irrigation. The paper also consider the main results of recent or current research works conducted by the authors in Tuscany (Italy) on the irrigation management of container-grown ornamental plants, which is an important agricultural sector in Italy

    Plasticised regenerated silk/gold nanorods hybrids as sealant and bio-piezoelectric materials

    Manual and mechanical suturing are currently the gold standard for bowel anastomosis. If tissue approximation fails, anastomotic leaks occur. Anastomotic leaks may have catastrophic consequences. The development of a fully absorbable, biocompatible sealant material based on a bio-ink silk fibroin can reduce the chance of anastomotic leaks. We have produced a Ca-modified plasticised regenerated silk (RS) with gold nanorods sealant. This sealant was applied to anastomosed porcine intestine. Water absorption from wet tissue substrate applied compressive strains on hybrid RS films. This compression results in a sealant effect on anastomosis. The increased toughness of the hybrid plasticised RS resulted in the designing of a bio-film with superior elongation at break (i.e., ≈200%) and bursting pressure. We have also reported structure-dependent piezoelectricity of the RS film that shows a piezoelectric effect out of the plane. We hope that in the future, bowel anastomosis can be simplified by providing a multifunctional bio-film that makes feasible the mechanical tissue joint without the need for specific tools and could be used in piezoelectric sealant heads

    Faecal haemoglobin and faecal calprotectin as indicators of bowel disease in patients presenting to primary care with bowel symptoms

    OBJECTIVE: In primary care, assessing which patients with bowel symptoms harbour significant disease (cancer, higher-risk adenoma or IBD) is difficult. We studied the diagnostic accuracies of faecal haemoglobin (FHb) and faecal calprotectin (FC) in a cohort of symptomatic patients. DESIGN: From October 2013 to March 2014, general practitioners were prompted to request FHb and FC when referring patients with bowel symptoms to secondary care. Faecal samples were analysed for haemoglobin (EIKEN OC-Sensor io) and calprotectin (BÜHLMANN Calprotectin ELISA). Patients triaged to endoscopy were investigated within 6 weeks. All clinicians and endoscopists were blind to the faecal test results. The diagnostic accuracies of FHb and FC for identification of significant bowel disease were assessed. RESULTS: 1043 patients returned samples. FHb was detectable in 57.6% (median 0.4 µg/g, 95% CI 0.4 to 0.8; range 0–200). FC at 50 µg/g or above was present in 60.0%. 755 patients (54.6% women, median age 64 years (range 16–90, IQR 52–73)) returned samples and completed colonic investigations. 103 patients had significant bowel disease; the negative predictive values of FHb for colorectal cancer, higher-risk adenoma and IBD were 100%, 97.8% and 98.4%, respectively. Using cut-offs of detectable FHb and/or 200 µg/g FC detected two further cases of IBD, one higher-risk adenoma and no additional cancers. CONCLUSIONS: In primary care, undetectable FHb is a good ‘rule-out’ test for significant bowel disease and could guide who requires investigation

    Delamination and manufacturing defects in natural fiber-reinforced hybrid composite: a review

    In recent years, most boat fabrication companies use 100% synthetic fiber-reinforced composite materials, due to their high performance of mechanical properties. In the new trend of research on the fabrication of boat structure using natural fiber hybrid with kevlar/fiberglass-reinforced composite, the result of tensile, bending, and impact strength showed that glass fiber-reinforced polyester composite gave high strength with increasing glass fiber contents. At some point, realizing the cost of synthetic fiber is getting higher, researchers today have started to use natural fibers that are seen as a more cost-effective option. Natural fibers, however, have some disadvantages, such as high moisture absorption, due to repelling nature; low wettability; low thermal stability; and quality variation, which lead to the degradation of composite properties. In recent times, hybridization is recommended by most researchers as a solution to natural fiber’s weaknesses and to reduce the use of synthetic fibers that are not environmentally friendly. In addition, hybrid composite has its own special advantages, i.e., balanced strength and stiffness, reduced weight and cost, improved fatigue resistance and fracture toughness, and improved impact resistance. The synthetic–nature fiber hybrid composites are used in a variety of applications as a modern material that has attracted most manufacturing industries’ attention to shift to using the hybrid composite. Some of the previous studies stated that delamination and manufacturing had influenced the performance of the hybrid composites. In order to expand the use of natural fiber as a successful reinforcement in hybrid composite, the factor that affects the manufacturing defects needs to be investigated. In this review paper, a compilation of the reviews on the delamination and a few common manufacturing defect types illustrating the overview of the impact on the mechanical properties encountered by most of the composite manufacturing industries are presented

    Il Forcello di Bagnolo S.Vito (MN) \ue8 il principale abitato dell\u2019area di espansione etrusca a nord del Po nel VI e V secolo a.C. Si tratta di un insediamento esteso circa 12 ettari dalla struttura pienamente urbana: un impianto ortogonale caratterizzato da assi viari principali e strade minori che si intersecano ortogonalmente e individuano quartieri, occupati da edifici sia di tipo residenziale che produttivo. Le indagini archeologiche, estese su un\u2019area di circa 900 m2 nel nucleo centrale dell\u2019insediamento, si susseguono da oltre trent\u2019anni e hanno permesso di riconoscere nove fasi insediative, definite dallo stratificarsi di attivit\ue0 domestiche, attivit\ue0 artigianali ed eventi catastrofici. L\u2019estensione e la lunga durata delle ricerche hanno permesso di riportare alla luce decine di strutture da fuoco: focolari, forni a fossa per attivit\ue0 pirotecnologiche, resti di fornaci per la cottura della ceramica. L\u2019ampia variet\ue0 tipologica delle strutture da fuoco rinvenute \ue8 cos\uec associata alla funzione degli ambienti in cui esse si trovano, interpretata a sua volta grazie allo studio parallelo dei reperti associati e delle tecniche edilizie.The Forcello site (Bagnolo S. Vito, Mantua) is the main Etruscan settlement north of the Po in the 6th and 5th centuries BC. It is approximately 12-hectare wide, with a fully urban pattern. It\u2019s characterized by an orthogonal plan, defined by main and secondary roads that intersect each other orthogonally and outline blocks, occupied by both residential and productive buildings. The archaeological investigations are carried out in the settlement\u2019s core area, over about 900 m2. After more than thirty years of excavations, nine archaeological phases have been recognized, resulting by the stratification of domestic activities, craft activities and catastrophic events. The extension and the long duration of the researches have brought to light dozens of fire structures: hearths, pit furnaces to cast bronze or to forge iron objects, remains of kilns. The wide typological variety of the fire structures can be evaluated according to the function of the buildings in which they are located, detected by study of archaeological findings and building techniques

    Panethnic Differences in Blood Pressure in Europe: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

    BACKGROUND: People of Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) and South Asians(SA) ethnic minorities living in Europe have higher risk of stroke than native Europeans(EU). Study objective is to provide an assessment of gender specific absolute differences in office systolic(SBP) and diastolic(DBP) blood pressure(BP) levels between SSA, SA, and EU. METHODS AND FINDINGS: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies conducted in Europe that examined BP in non-selected adult SSA, SA and EU subjects. Medline, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Scopus were searched from their inception through January 31st 2015, for relevant articles. Outcome measures were mean SBP and DBP differences between minorities and EU, using a random effects model and tested for heterogeneity. Twenty-one studies involving 9,070 SSA, 18,421 SA, and 130,380 EU were included. Compared with EU, SSA had higher values of both SBP (3.38 mmHg, 95% CI 1.28 to 5.48 mmHg; and 6.00 mmHg, 95% CI 2.22 to 9.78 in men and women respectively) and DBP (3.29 mmHg, 95% CI 1.80 to 4.78; 5.35 mmHg, 95% CI 3.04 to 7.66). SA had lower SBP than EU(-4.57 mmHg, 95% CI -6.20 to -2.93; -2.97 mmHg, 95% CI -5.45 to -0.49) but similar DBP values. Meta-analysis by subgroup showed that SA originating from countries where Islam is the main religion had lower SBP and DBP values than EU. In multivariate meta-regression analyses, SBP difference between minorities and EU populations, was influenced by panethnicity and diabetes prevalence. CONCLUSIONS: 1) The higher BP in SSA is maintained over decades, suggesting limited efficacy of prevention strategies in such group in Europe;2) The lower BP in Muslim populations suggests that yet untapped lifestyle and behavioral habits may reveal advantages towards the development of hypertension;3) The additive effect of diabetes, emphasizes the need of new strategies for the control of hypertension in groups at high prevalence of diabetes
