Inhomogeneous charge distribution and superconductivity in the boson-fermion model

We analyze a boson{fermion model that accounts for the electrostatic potential of the out-of-plane dopant atoms. We investigate whether this approach may explain recent experimental results obtained for the Bi-based high-temperature superconductors. We demonstrate that in contradistinction to purely fermionic models, even weak electrostatic potential of the dopant atoms may be responsible for a significant modulation of the superconducting order parameter

Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) – neuroendocrine skin cancer

Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rarely occurring skin cancer of high malignancy. It develops, most probably, from the neuroendocrine cells (Merkel’s cells). The most frequent location of this cancer is the skin of the head and neck (44–48% of cases), and then in the skin of the upper limbs (about 19% of cases) and then the lower limbs (16–20% of cases). The aetiology of this cancer is unknown, yet some role in its pathogenesis is played by ultraviolet light and immunosuppression. The basis of therapy in cases with locoregional spread is surgical intervention, whilst in more advanced cases, an effective systemic treatment is possible with the use of molecularly targeted therapies. Zbiorowe strategie i polityki radzenia sobie z trudną pamięcią

W obrębie badań z obszaru memory studies i transitional justice rośnie popularność prac dotyczących radzenia sobie z "trudną przeszłością" lub "trudną pamięcią". Istnieje jednak chaos terminologiczny wynikający z wykorzystywania różnych określeń na to samo lub podobne zjawisko, niedefiniowania podstawowych pojęć przez badaczy i badaczki lub relatywizowania znaczenia danych pojęć od kontekstów badań. Celem artykułu jest uporządkowanie terminologiczne w zakresie działań podejmowanych w stosunku do pamięci, w szczególności poprzez zdefiniowanie takich pojęć, jak: "trudna pamięć", "radzenie sobie z pamięcią", "strategie radzenia sobie" i "polityka pamięci". Przyjętą metodą realizacji celu jest analiza porównawcza anglosaskich i polskich koncepcji teoretycznych poruszających tę tematykę i budowa uniwersalnego modelu teoretycznego łączącego te różne koncepcje
