    Model Analysis of Religious Character Education in State-owned Islamic School

    The phenomenon of increased juvenile delinquency and decreased character quality of students were the reason for strengthening the function of education as character building, it used as the basis urgent demand for the implementation of the Character Building Strengthening program through the implementation of the main values (religious, nationalist, independent, mutual cooperation and integration), and in this study, the most fundamental value was the value of religious character. Therefore, as an effort to build a superior generation of national civilization in intellectual terms, spiritual, emotional balance with human nature, it was necessary to have religious character education for students with the achievements of Moral Knowing, Moral Feeling, and Moral Doing. This study aims to analyze the model of religious character education in MAN 1 Lebong, a State-owned Aliyah Madrasa or Islamic school. This study used qualitative methods, conducted in the 2019/2020 Academic Year. It has done by describing what programs, how to implemented, and how were the model of religious character education in MAN 1 Lebong. Sources of data were the head master of Madrasah, Teachers (who get additional assignments as Deputy Heads, Subject Teachers, and Counseling Guidance Teachers) and students. Data collection used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis methods consist of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion, and verification. The results showed that the religious character education model in MAN 1 Lebong had not been effective, most students were at the stages of moral knowing, and moral feeling, but the achievement of moral doing was not fully implemented by students

    Permainan puzzle merupakan salah satu permainan yang berfungsi untuk mengasah kemampuan otak. Salah satu permainan puzzle yang dimaksud adalah Rubik's Cube. Rubik's Cube merupakan permainan puzzle berbentuk kubus yang tersusun atas 3x3x3 kubus kecil yang tiap sisinya dapat berupa warna ataupun gambar. Tujuan dari permainan ini adalah mengembalikan kondisi Rubik's Cube yang acak ke kondisi tidak acak. Saat ini, sudah terdapat berbagai macam dimensi Rubik's Cube yang bisa dimainkan. Beberapa di antaranya adalah Rubik's Cube berdimensi 2x2x2 (Pocket Cube), Rubik's Cube berdimensi 4x4x4 (Rubik's Revenge), dan Rubik's Cube berdimensi 5x5x5 (Professor's Cube). Untuk dapat menyelesaikan permainan Rubik's Cube, diperlukan suatu algoritma khusus. Algoritma yang digunakan terdiri dari 7 langkah untuk menyelesaikan Rubik's Cube, sedangkan untuk Pocket Cube hanya diperlukan 3 langkah saja. Langkah pertama adalah menyelesaikan sisi atas dengan memposisikan kubus pojok dan kubus samping. Kedua, memposisikan kubus pojok pada sisi bawah. Ketiga, mengorientasikan kubus pojok pada sisi bawah. Keempat, menyelesaikan sisi bawah dengan memposisikan dan mengorientasikan kubus samping. Kelima, menutup "keyhole" yang dihasilkan dari langkah sebelumnya. Keenam, memposisikan kubus samping yang tersisa. Ketujuh, mengorientasikan kubus samping yang tersisa. Setelah dilakukan uji coba terhadap Pocket Cube dan Rubik's Cube dengan jumlah pengacakan yang berbeda-beda, kemudian diselesaikan dengan menggunakan algoritma di atas, pada akhirnya akan diperoleh kondisi yang tidak acak.     Satellite Altimetry and Current-Meter Velocities in the Malvinas Current at 41°S: Comparisons and Modes of Variations

    Three year long current-meter arrays were deployed in the Malvinas Current at 418S below a satellite altimeter track at about 10 years intervals. Surface geostrophic velocities (SGV) derived from satel- lite altimetric data are compared with the in situ velocities at the upper current meter (􏰁300 m). Multisatel- lite gridded SGV compare better with in situ observations than along-track SGV. In spite of the proximity of the moorings to the complex Brazil-Malvinas Confluence (BMC) region, satellite SGV are significantly corre- lated with the 20 day low-passed in situ velocities (0.85 for along-isobaths velocities, 0.8 for cross-isobaths velocities). The recent in situ measurement period (2014?2015) stands out in the altimetry record with a long-lasting (4 months) high level of eddy kinetic energy at the mooring site and a southernmost location of the Subantarctic Front (SAF). The first two modes of variations of sea level anomaly (SLA) over the BMC remarkably match the first two modes of the low-passed in situ velocities. The first mode is associated with a latitudinal migration of the SAF, and the second with a longitudinal displacement of the Brazil Current overshoot. The two modes dominate the 24 year long record of SLA in the BMC, with energy peaks at the annual and semiannual periods for the first mode and at 3?5 months for the second mode. The SLA over the Southwest Atlantic was regressed onto the two confluence modes of SLA variations and showed remarkable standing wave train like structures in the Argentine Basin.Fil: Ferrari, Ramiro.     Gravimetric determination of the continental oceanic boundary of the Argentine continental margin (from 36°S to 50°S)

    This paper presents the gravimetric analysis together with seismic data as an integral application in order to identify the continental?oceanic crust boundary (COB) of the Argentine continental margin from 36◦S to 50◦S in a continuous way. The gravimetric and seismic data are made up of large grids of data obtained from satellite altimetry and marine research. The methodology consists of three distinct methods: (i) the application of enhancement techniques to gravimetric anomalies, (ii) the calculation of crustal thinning from 3-D gravity inversion modelling of the crust?mantle discontinuity and (iii) 2-D gravimetric modelling supported by multichannel reflection and refraction seismic profiles. In the first method, the analytic signal, Theta map, and tilt angle and its horizontal derivative were applied. In the second method, crustal thickness was obtained as the difference in the depths of the crystalline basement and the crust?mantle discontinuity; the latter was obtained via gravimetric inversion. Finally, 2-D modelling was performed from free-air anomalies in two representative sections by considering as restriction surfaces those coming from the interpretation of seismic data. The results of the joint application of enhancement techniques and 2-D and 3-D modelling have enabled continuous interpretation of the COB. In this study, the COB was determined continuously from the integration of 2-D profiles of the enhancement techniques, taking account of crustal thickness and performing 2-D gravimetric modelling.     Riqueza específica y patrones de distribución de equinodermos en el Atlántico Sudoccidental entre los 34 y 56°S

    El objetivo de este estudio es recopilar y analizar la información histórica disponible sobre equinodermos en el Atlántico Sudoccidental, a fin de elaborar una síntesis del estado de conocimiento actual, identificar patrones de distribución geográfica de las comunidades de equinodermos y poner a prueba la validez del esquema zoogeográfico tradicionalmente establecido para el área de estudio. Este estudio se llevó a cabo en la Plataforma Continental Argentina entre los 34 y 56°S. Se efectuó una intensiva búsqueda de datos geo-referenciados sobre las especies de equinodermos, a fin de crear una base de datos histórica. Se utilizaron análisis multivariados para analizar cambios en la composición específica a través de gradientes latitudinales y batimétricos, así como también para reconocer y diferenciar las asociaciones de equinodermos en el área de estudio. Los resultados confirmaron la existencia de dos asociaciones faunísticas que responden al esquema zoogeográfico tradicionalmente establecido para el área de estudio, distinguiendo dos Provincias Biogeográficas: Argentina y Magallánica. La Provincia Argentina presentó cuarenta y seis especies ampliamente distribuidas. Ochenta y seis especies fueron registra- das en la Provincia Magallánica, un alto porcentaje de las mismas también se encontraron en aguas de la Antártida (25%), lo que sugiere una fuerte conexión entre la fauna de equinodermos entre esta provincia y la Región Antártica. La riqueza de especies entre los 34 y 56°S en el Océano Atlántico mostró un aumento significativo en referencia a la latitud, los valores más altos se registraron entre los 46 y 56°S. En vista del alto porcentaje de especies compartidas con la Antártida, considerada una región con una diversidad muy alta de equinodermos, el patrón de distribución de la riqueza de especies observado en el área de estudio podría responder a una dispersión de especies antárticas hacia aguas subantárticas.The aim of this study was to compile and analyse available historical information on echinoderms in the southwestern Atlantic Ocean in order to make a synthesis of present taxonomical knowledge, to identify patterns of geographical distribution of echinoderm assemblages and to test the validity of the current zoogeographic scheme for this group. This study was conducted on the Argentinean continental shelf, southwestern Atlantic Ocean (34-56°S). An intensive research on geo-referenced data was carried out to make a knowledge synthesis on echinoderm species and thus create a historical database. Multivariate analysis was used to analyse the faunal composition through latitudinal and bathymetric gradients as well as echinoderm associations. The results confirmed the existence of two faunal associations that correspond to the traditional zoogeographic scheme established for the Argentine Sea: the Argentinean and Magellan Provinces. The Argentinean Province had 46 widely distributed species. Of the 86 species recorded in the Magellan Province, a high percentage (25%) were also found in Antarctic waters, suggesting a strong connection between the echinoderm fauna of this province and the Antarctic Region. The species richness between 34 and 56°S in the Atlantic Ocean showed a significant increase in reference to latitude, with the highest values being recorded between 46 and 56°S. In view of the high percentage of shared species with Antarctica, considered a hot-spot region in terms of echinoderm diversity, the pattern of distribution of species richness observed in our study area could correspond to a dispersion of this species from Antarctic to sub-Antarctic regions.Fil: Souto, Valeria Soledad.     Argentine Command Structure and its Impact on Land Operations during the Falklands/Malvinas War (1982)

    This paper claims that besides training and equipment shortcomings, Argentine command structure was another source of problems that affected the military operations during the Falklands/Malvinas Campaign during April-June 1982. Consequently, the flawed command structure can be seen as a contributing factor in Argentina’s military defeat. Improvisation, confusion, lack of coordination, and desperation prevailed along the command structure throughout the conflict. Operational and tactical commands were seem to be pulling apart between the political imperatives of the High Command in Buenos Aires that transcended to the islands and the military imperatives of the front. This handicap was critical to conduct operations. By using official documents, reports and accounts and the own participants’ testimonies, this paper clarifies the issues connected with the structure of the Argentine High Command and it furthers our understanding of how the Argentine armed forces functioned.

    Reassessing the Fighting Performance of Conscript Soldiers during the Malvinas/Falklands War (1982)

    While the idea is controversial, it is quite possible that, at least under certain circumstances, the fighting effectiveness of a conscript army can equal that of a professional army. For any army, fighting effectiveness is not only influenced by the degree of psychological cohesion among soldiers and officers, but also by the organizational culture of each particular service unit towards the preparation for war and the waging of the conflict itself. The Malvinas (Falklands) War of 1982 demonstrates this very well. In this war, two different types of armies confronted one another: the British army, a professional and all volunteer force, and the Argentine army constituted principally of conscripted soldiers. In this regard, some analysts assert that the British concept was vindicated when a force of British professional soldiers defeated an opposing Argentine force of draftees twice as numerous. Analysts in general have rated the capabilities of the Argentine land forces as poor, although there were exceptions and some units performed very well. These cases deserve to be studied. Notably, the most effective Argentine effort came from some small Army units and one Navy unit, the 5th Marine Battalion. For these units, two primary reasons account for the differences in fighting performance. First, small Army groups fought well because there was cohesion among their components, conscripts, noncommissioned officers, and junior officers, especially by the attitude of the latter. Secondly, in the case of the Marine battalion, its performance was the product not only of good training, but also of the different institutional approach to waging war that the Argentine Navy employed. These, in turn, improved cohesion. By focusing upon these units and their effectiveness, a rather new picture of the Malvinas War comes to light that differs quite substantially from those drawn in the immediate aftermath of the war itself. It should also make us rethink the "lessons" of the war, including those that surround the professionals versus conscripts controversy.
