    Antecedents of the Utilization of Social Media and its Impact on Micro and Small Enterprises Performances

    This study aimed to analyze the antecedents of the utilization of social media for MSEs and its impact on performances. Performances such as; service performance, sales performance, marketing performance, internal operating performance and innovation performance. The population in this study were MSEs in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, the sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling with criteria of (1) MSEs locationed in Sleman Regency and (2) MSEs which use social media (Faceebook, Instagram) for marketing purposes. Respondents in this study amounted to 100 MSEs. WarpPLS used for data analysis technique. The results showed that the utilization of social media by MSEs was influenced by interactivity, cost effectiveness and compatibility. Meanwhile, trust does not affect the utilization of social media. The utilization of social media by MSEs has a positive effect on each performances. &nbsp

Bu amaçla firmaların sosyal medya hedefleri, TOÇ modelinin belirlenen alt boyutlar ile olan ilişkisi incelenmiş ve farklı hedef pazarlara göre hedeflere ulaşmadaki ayrım ortaya çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Kolayda örneklem yöntemi ile 117 işletme üzerinde analiz yapılmıştır. Çevrimiçi anket ile elde edilen verilere korelasyon ve farklılık testleri uygulanmıştır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre teknoloji benimseme boyutlarının organizasyonel sosyal medya performansı hedefleri ile pozitif yönde ilişkili olduğu görülmüştür. Özellikle sosyal medya performansi en fazla pozitif ilişkili olan boyut olmuştur.     Analisis Pemanfaatan Social Commerce bagi UMKM: Anteseden dan Konsekuen

    The purpose of this study is to investigate factors that influence social media usage among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the impact on financial and non-financial performance. Convenience sampling was used to collect data. The respondent in this study are owner of SME that use facebook and instagram on their business activities. Based on SEM-PLS analysis, this study revealed that interactivity, cost effectiveness, and trust was identified as factors that motivate the usage social media. Meanwhile, compatibility has no significant effect on social media usage. Social media usage has a strong positive impact on financial performance (sales) and non-financial performance of SMEs in terms of customer service, internal operations, and marketing. In addition, this study indicate that social media usage has no positive effects on perceived impact on innovation.Keywords: social media, SME, performance, inovation,social commerc

    Analisis Penggunaan E-Commerce: Faktor Yang Mempengaruhi dan Dampaknya Bagi UMKM

    The Internet of Things (IoT), which is marked by the development of e-commerce, has changed business models, especially MSMEs. However, the development of e-commerce cannot be widely accepted by MSME actors. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the factors that influence the use of e-commerce and its impact. The sample was determined by using a non-probability sampling technique based on convenience sampling. Research respondents are MSME actors who use e-commerce. The results show that trust and interactivity have an influence on the use of e-commerce by MSMEs and an increase in the use of e-commerce will improve MSME performance. Therefore, MSME actors will use e-commerce to improve their performance, however, will consider e-commerce that can be trusted and has good interaction facilities between sellers and buyers

     ABSTRACTMSME business actors in Indonesia tend to be slow imitators, so the development of information technology, especially social media, offers benefits for MSMEs to increase sales and marketing, expand market share, and assist business decision making. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of interactivity, cost effectiveness, compatibility, and trust on the use of social media. The analytical method used is multiple regression analysis, by previously conducting a data quality test, classical assumption test, and significance test. The population in this study is the MSME Association of Tegal City. The distribution of questionnaires in this study was carried out by sending e-mails to all MSMEs at the Apik Banget MSME Association of Tegal City. The sample of this research is mostly engaged in the culinary industry on a micro scale and is classified as a new business, so that innovation is not the main focus. Based on the results of data processing, it was found that interactivity, cost effectiveness, compatibility, and trust have an effect on the use of social media. using a type of industry that has a high level of competition with a larger industrial scale.  Pelaku bisnis UMKM di Indonesia cenderung peniru yang lambat, sehingga berkembangnya teknologi informasi terutama media sosial menawarkan manfaat bagi UMKM untuk meningkatkan penjualan dan pemasaran, memperluas pangsa pasar, dan membantu pengambilan keputusan bisnis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh interaktivitas, efektivitas biaya, kompatibilitas, dan kepercayaan terhadap penggunaan media sosial. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi berganda, dengan sebelumnya melakukan uji kaulitas data, uji asumsi klasik, dan uji signifikansi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Asosiasi UMKM Apik Banget Kota Tegal. Penyebaran kuesioner dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengirimkan e-mail ke seluruh UMKM pada Asosiasi UMKM Apik Banget Kota Tegal. Sampel penelitian ini sebagian besar bergerak dalam bidang industri kuliner dengan skala mikro dan tergolong bisnis baru, sehingga inovasi bukan menjadi fokus utama Berdasarkan hasil olah data, ditemukan bahwa interaktivitas, efektivitas biaya, kompatibilitas, dan kepercayaan berpengaruh terhadap penggunaan media sosial..     Adoption of RFID technologies in UK logistics: moderating roles of size, barcode experience and government support

    Due to globalization, logistics has become an important part in the supply chain. Many logistics service providers have realised the importance of adoption of technologies that can help manufacturers, warehouses, and retailers to communicate with each other more efficiently. Among many logistics technologies, radio frequency identification (RFID) has been identified as an important technology to improve logistics operations and supply chain management, and thus is increasingly gaining both practitioners’ and researchers’ attention. The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of usability features of RFID in the adoption of the technology by the logistics sector in the UK. We have used questionnaire survey method to collect data from the UK logistics firms. The analysis of the data shows that the usability of RFID technology positively influences adoption of technology. We have further tested the moderating effects of firm size, experience with barcode use, and government support in adopting RFID. Our results show that government support strongly moderates the link between usability of RFID and its adoption but size and experience with barcode do not moderate this link.     Conceptual Model of Big Data Technologies Adoption in Smart Cities of the European Union

    Big data technologies enable cities to develop towards a smart city. However, the adoption of big data technologies is challenging, which is why it is essential to identify factors that influence the adoption of big data technologies in cities. The main goal of the paper is to propose a conceptual model of big data technologies adoption in smart cities of the European Union. In order to derive the conceptual model following is done: i) overview of the previous Technology-OrganisationEnvironment framework - based research on the adoption of selected information and communications technologies crucial for the development of smart cities, and ii) selection of factors based on the critical examination of the previous research. Selected factors, Absorptive Capacity, Technology Readiness, Compatibility, City Managements Support, the Existence of Smart City Strategy and Stakeholders Support, were incorporated into the conceptual model of big data technologies adoption in smart cities of the European Union.     Role of Social Media on Information Accessibility

    Social media is the gathering place of a large pool of consumers. It is the repository of consumer information and acts as a means of spreading information to build market presence. Most literature states that organizational usage of social media enhances customer relations, but social media also acts as a medium for information acquisition. Not many previous studies have investigated the role of social media on information accessibility. Therefore this study examined the impact of social media on information accessibility. A total of 171 organization responded to the survey and the result of the survey showed that social media usage has a positive impact on information accessibility. Also it was found that factors such as interactivity, trust and institutional pressure positively influence social media usage in organizations. This study provided a clearer understanding on the real importance of social media and its benefits towards information acquisition. The results would motivate and guide organizations in the adoption of social media for information acquisition which is important for understanding the customers, competitors and the industry and to develop strategies for enhancing business performance

    Uncovering Cultural Differences in Organizational Readiness for Artificial Intelligence: A Comparison between Germany and the United States

    Artificial Intelligence (AI) transforms the business world by enabling organizations to leverage new business opportunities through its unique capabilities of self-learning and autonomous decision-making. To unlock the disruptive potential of AI, organizations seek to implement AI applications throughout their business landscape. However, from a cross-cultural perspective, national culture can influence the way organizations implement AI applications. To better understand cross-cultural differences on AI adoption, our study combines Hofstede’s national cultural framework with the organizational readiness concept for AI. We examined the moderating role of Hofstede’s national cultural dimensions on the organizational readiness factors of AI-process fit, financial resources, upskilling, collaborative work, and data quality.
