Assessment of Response Time for New Multi Level Feedback Queue Scheduler
Response time is one of the characteristics of scheduler, happens to be a
prominent attribute of any CPU scheduling algorithm. The proposed New Multi
Level Feedback Queue [NMLFQ] Scheduler is compared with dynamic, real time,
Dependent Activity Scheduling Algorithm (DASA) and Lockes Best Effort
Scheduling Algorithm (LBESA). We abbreviated beneficial result of NMLFQ
scheduler in comparison with dynamic best effort schedulers with respect to

Introduction
Since its first inception in 2001, the application of the Semantic Web [1, 2] has carried out an extensive use of ontologies [3–5], reasoning, and semantics in diverse fields, such as Information Integration, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, eGovernment, eHealth, and social networks. This widespread use of ontologies has led to an incredible advance in the development of techniques to manipulate, share, reuse, and integrate information across heterogeneous data sources. In recent years, the growth of the IoT (Internet of Things) required to face the challenges of “Big Data” [6–10]. The cost of sensors is decreasing, while their use is expanding. Moreover, the use of multiple personal smart devices is an emerging trend and all of them can embed sensors to monitor the surrounding environment. Therefore, the number of available sensors is exploding. On the one hand, the flows of sensor data are massive and continuous, and the data could be obtained in real time or with a delay of just a few seconds. Then, the volume of sensor data is increasing continuously every day. On the other hand, the variety of data being generated is also increasing, due to plenty of different devices and different measures to record. There are many kinds of structured and unstructured sensor data in diverse formats. Moreover, data veracity, which is the degree of accuracy or truthfulness of a data set, is an important aspect to consider. In the context of sensor data, it represents the trustworthiness of the data source and the processing of data. The need for more accurate and reliable data was always declared, but often overlooked for the sake of larger and cheaper..
Classification of diseases and pests in agricultural crops: A systematic review
Plant diseases and pests significantly influence food production and the productivity and economic profitability of agricultural crops. This has led to great interest in developing technological solutions to enable timely and accurate detection. This systematic review aimed to find studies on the automation of processes to detect, identify and classify diseases and pests in agricultural crops.
The goal is to characterize the class of algorithms, models and their characteristics and understand the efficiency of the various approaches and their applicability. The literature search was conducted in two citation databases. The initial search returned 278 studies and, after removing duplicates and applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 48 articles were included in the review. As a result, seven research questions were answered that allowed a characterization of the most studied crops, diseases and pests, the datasets used, the algorithms, their inputs and the levels of accuracy that have been achieved in automatic identification and classification of diseases and pests. Automata Tutor v3
Computer science class enrollments have rapidly risen in the past decade.
With current class sizes, standard approaches to grading and providing
personalized feedback are no longer possible and new techniques become both
feasible and necessary. In this paper, we present the third version of Automata
Tutor, a tool for helping teachers and students in large courses on automata
and formal languages. The second version of Automata Tutor supported automatic
grading and feedback for finite-automata constructions and has already been
used by thousands of users in dozens of countries. This new version of Automata
Tutor supports automated grading and feedback generation for a greatly extended
variety of new problems, including problems that ask students to create regular
expressions, context-free grammars, pushdown automata and Turing machines
corresponding to a given description, and problems about converting between
equivalent models - e.g., from regular expressions to nondeterministic finite
automata. Moreover, for several problems, this new version also enables
teachers and students to automatically generate new problem instances. We also
present the results of a survey run on a class of 950 students, which shows
very positive results about the usability and usefulness of the tool
Performance improvement in geographic routing for vehicular Ad Hoc networks
Geographic routing is one of the most investigated themes by researchers for reliable and efficient dissemination of information in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs). Recently, different Geographic Distance Routing (GEDIR) protocols have been suggested in the literature. These protocols focus on reducing the forwarding region towards destination to select the Next Hop Vehicles (NHV). Most of these protocols suffer from the problem of elevated one-hop link disconnection, high end-to-end delay and low throughput even at normal vehicle speed in high vehicle density environment. This paper proposes a Geographic Distance Routing protocol based on Segment vehicle, Link quality and Degree of connectivity (SLD-GEDIR). The protocol selects a reliable NHV using the criteria segment vehicles, one-hop link quality and degree of connectivity. The proposed protocol has been simulated in NS-2 and its performance has been compared with the state-of-the-art protocols: P-GEDIR, J-GEDIR and V-GEDIR. The empirical results clearly reveal that SLD-GEDIR has lower link disconnection and end-to-end delay, and higher throughput as compared to the state-of-the-art protocols. Performance Evaluation of Location-Based Geocast Routing Using Directed Flooding Rectangular Forwarding Zone in City VANET
Vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) is an application of mobile ad hoc network (MANET) where vehicular nodes are integrated with GPS and other controlling devices to communicate among each other. Because of predefined structure of roads as well as very high moving speed of vehicles, routing becomes an extremely challenging issue in VANET. In literature, authors in research papers related to vehicular communication evaluate mostly the performance of topology or position-based routing protocols. This article implements a geocast approach called directed flooding rectangular forwarding zone in distance-effect routing algorithm for mobility (DREAM), location aided routing (LAR) and zone routing protocol (ZRP) for city vehicular environment. Packet delivery ratio normalized routing load, delay, throughput, dropped packet ratio and bandwidth wastage parameters are evaluated using NS-2.33 integrated with IEEE802.11p and IDM_IM based VanetMobiSim. British Sign Language Recognition via Late Fusion of Computer Vision and Leap Motion with Transfer Learning to American Sign Language
In this work, we show that a late fusion approach to multimodality in sign language recognition improves the overall ability of the model in comparison to the singular approaches of image classification (88.14%) and Leap Motion data classification (72.73%). With a large synchronous dataset of 18 BSL gestures collected from multiple subjects, two deep neural networks are benchmarked and compared to derive a best topology for each. The Vision model is implemented by a Convolutional Neural Network and optimised Artificial Neural Network, and the Leap Motion model is implemented by an evolutionary search of Artificial Neural Network topology. Next, the two best networks are fused for synchronised processing, which results in a better overall result (94.44%) as complementary features are learnt in addition to the original task. The hypothesis is further supported by application of the three models to a set of completely unseen data where a multimodality approach achieves the best results relative to the single sensor method. When transfer learning with the weights trained via British Sign Language, all three models outperform standard random weight distribution when classifying American Sign Language (ASL), and the best model overall for ASL classification was the transfer learning multimodality approach, which scored 82.55% accuracy
