    This reseach has been done to know the correlation between spread F appearance and scintillation ionosphere on west region Indonesia. The method has been used is data interpretation using  computational way, then all of data is processed using matlab software. The occurance of spread F was minimum in 2008 with it value respectively around 45%. In 2011 the spread F was beginning to increase with it value respectively around 70%. The occurance of ionospheric scintilation was minimum in 2010 with it value respectively around 13%. These occurances were due to a minimum phase of solar activity. In 2013 the scintilation was beginning to increase with it value respectively around 75% in which the occurance was selected for S4  ≥ 0,6. The correlation level between spread F and scintilation is medium, because the value of R aquals 0,4 this case is be affected by solar activity. The value of R is 0 (no correlation) at weak solar activity and 0,6 at high solar activity

    COSY-11: an experimental facility for studying meson production in free and quasi-free nucleon-nucleon collisions

    The COSY-11 experimental setup is an internal facility installed at the COoler SYnchrotron COSY in Juelich. It allows to investigate meson production in free and quasi-free nucleon-nucleon collisions, eg. pp --> pp meson and pd --> p_sp np meson reactions. Drift chambers and scintillators permit to measure outgoing protons, separated in magnetic field of COSY-11 dipole. Neutrons are registered in the neutron modular detector installed downstream the beam. Recently, the experimental setup has been extended with spectator detector, deuteron drift chamber and polarization monitoring system, and since then meson production can be investigated also as a function of spin and isospin of colliding nucleons.Comment: Presented at LEAP05: International conference on Low Energy Antiproton Physics, Bonn - Juelich, Germany, May 16-22, 200

    DIETHANOLAMINE AS CO2 ABSORBENT FOR 14C ANALYSIS TO DETERMINATION AGE OF CORAL REEF FROM PANAMBUNGAN ISLAND BY USING LIQUID SCINTILLATION COUNTING (LSC) METHOD

    Utilization of diethanolamine (DEA) as an absorbent for 14C analysis using liquid scintillation counting (LSC) on the determination of the age of the coral reefs have been done. Coral reefs are analyzed from the uninhabited Panambungan island which far away from the influence of human activity. Sample preparation, physical and chemical by using 2 acid-base mixture: H2O2-NaOH and HClO4-HCl. At this stage there is a weight reduction of as much as 9.023 gram sample. Carbonate samples reacted with HCl to separate CO2 and sequestration by diethanolamine into carbamate compounds. Total carbon in the sample solution is obtained through the reduction of 0.838 grams before and after absorption. The specific activity of 14C in samples measured by the counter LSC HIDEX 300 SL and obtained 8.4026 ± 6,85 DPM/gC. The specific activity of the sample and the specific activity of modern carbon (15.3 ± 0.1 DPM/gC) is inserted into the equation radioisotope decay, obtained the age of 4955 ± 935 years

    Penentuan Umur Batuan Gamping Penyusun Gua Leang-Leang melalui Pengukuran Aktivitas 14C dengan Metode LSC (Liquid Scintilatiaon Counting). Telah dilakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan sampel batuan gamping yang terdapat di Gua Leang-leang, Kabupaten Maros. Batuan gamping merupakan salah satu sampel lingkungan dengan mineral penyusun berupa kalsit (CaCO3) yang bersumber dari sisa-sisa flora dan fauna yang telah lapuk dan membatu. Preparasi sampel batuan gamping secara fisik dan kimia menggunakan campuran asam basa NaOH, H2O2 10%, HClO4 dan HCl menghasilkan sampel yang putih bersih dengan pengurangan bobot 3,36% - 4,44%. Matriks karbonat sampel dihasilkan sebagai CO2 melalui reaksi dengan H3PO4 85% dan penyerapan oleh KOH 1N sebagai K2CO3. Total karbon dalam larutan sampel adalah 0,6144-0,9696 gram didapatkan melalui metode titrasi. Metode penanggalan radiokarbon didasarkan pada pengukuran aktivitas spesifik sampel yang diperoleh dari hasil cacahan LSC (Liquid Scintilation Counter) Hidex 300 SL adalah 1,609 ?? 0,0359 DPM/gram C dan 7,718 ?? 0,109 DPM/gram C.
