Fibred contextual quantum physics
Inspired by the recast of the quantum mechanics in a toposical framework, we develop a contextual quantum mechanics via the geometric mathematics to propose a quantum contextuality adaptable in every topos.
The contextuality adopted corresponds to the belief that the quantum world must only be seen from the classical viewpoints à la Bohr consequently putting forth the notion of a context, while retaining a realist understanding. Mathematically, the cardinal object is a spectral Stone bundle Σ → B (between stably-compact locales) permitting a treatment of the kinematics, fibre by fibre and fully point-free. In leading naturally to a new notion of points, the geometricity permits to understand those of the base space B as the contexts C — the commutative C*–algebras of a incommutative C*–algebras — and those of the spectral locale Σ as the couples (C, ψ), with ψ a state of the system from the perspective of such a C. The contexts are furnished with a natural order, the aggregation order which is installed as the specialization on B and Σ thanks to (one part of) the Priestley's duality adapted geometrically as well as to the effectuality of the lax descent of the Stone bundles along the perfect maps
Sensitivity of metabolic networks
In this thesis we present a comprehensive analysis of sensitivity of metabolic chemical reaction networks, with general kinetics. Sensitivity studies the network response to perturbations. We consider local perturbations of the network components - metabolite concentrations or reaction rates - at a dynamical equilibrium. We investigate the responses in the network, both of the metabolite concentrations and of the reaction fluxes. Firstly, we describe which components of the network respond, at all. Secondly, we analyze whether their responses are positive, negative, or whether the sign depends on the parameters of the system.
Sign changes of the Jacobian determinant play an important overall role both in sensitivity analysis and in the bifurcation of equilibria. The first part of this thesis distinguishes reaction network Jacobians with constant sign from the bifurcation case, where that sign depends on specific values of reaction rates.
Our approach is purely qualitative, rather than quantitative. In fact, our analysis is based, solely, on the stoichiometry of the reaction network. We do not require any quantitative information on the reaction rates. Instead, the description is done only in algebraic terms, and the only data required is the network structure.
Biological applications include detection of multistationarity, enzyme knock-out experiments, and metabolic control.
Discrete Time Systems
Discrete-Time Systems comprehend an important and broad research field. The consolidation of digital-based computational means in the present, pushes a technological tool into the field with a tremendous impact in areas like Control, Signal Processing, Communications, System Modelling and related Applications. This book attempts to give a scope in the wide area of Discrete-Time Systems. Their contents are grouped conveniently in sections according to significant areas, namely Filtering, Fixed and Adaptive Control Systems, Stability Problems and Miscellaneous Applications. We think that the contribution of the book enlarges the field of the Discrete-Time Systems with signification in the present state-of-the-art. Despite the vertiginous advance in the field, we also believe that the topics described here allow us also to look through some main tendencies in the next years in the research area

The impact of content and language integrated learning (CLIL) on Valencian secondary education students' English language acquisition and academic achievement: a case study
gramática, vocabulario y destrezas productivas (habla y escritura) y receptivas (escucha
Women’s occupational mobility in the Nigerian service sector through a radical feminist perspective
A thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements of the University of Wolverhampton for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy. The impact of women’s contribution and participation in society and its economies has been theorised to contribute trillion dollars to global GDP. There is extensive research and literature that has contextualised and developed our understanding of the marginalisation of women in our societies to advocate for gender equality as the United Nations’ 5th Sustainable Development Goal of Gender Equality is also essential in achieving other sustainable development goals. To contribute to the growing empirical study within the context of Sub-Sahara Africa with a particular focus on Nigeria, this study investigates the impact of institutionalisation of organisational practices in the leadership experience and participation of women in the service sector. Through a radical feminist perspective, a deconstructive analysis of the Nigerian context was conducted on the culture of Nigeria and its influence on organisational culture and the adoption of leadership styles.
Focus groups and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 31 women in the service sector in entry-level, middle-management and leadership positions across three industries: financial institutions, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), and Higher Education. The findings revealed the relationship between the dimensions of institutional theory and women's experience. They shed light on the institutional void and the barriers to women’s occupational mobility and full economic participation.
Most importantly, the outcome of this investigation documents critical recommendations for organisations, women, and NGOs to consider how to change cultural mindsets within the service sector. The call for organisations is to be deliberate in identifying barriers and initiating a strategy to tackle those barriers with a ten-part monitoring and evaluation toolkit
