    This article aims to analyze living social phenomena, important study material that becomes an academic attraction, especially when religion is faced with social change and actual problems that must be answered by Islam. PTKIN as a study institution of Islamic education today has received a response from the wider community and has become an interesting social phenomenon to study. The fundamental problem that is the focus of this study relates to the dynamics of the face of Islamic State Islamic Higher Education (PTKIN) in the context of change to the State Islamic University, especially with the inclusion of lecturers from various educational backgrounds, disciplines and diversity of organizations that become new forces at the State Islamic University (UIN). The focus of this study is interesting to study related to the religious views of UIN lecturers which are limited to lecturers who teach religious material in the study area outside the religious groups at three State Islamic Universities (UIN), namely UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, and UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. This research is a field research using qualitative methods. To obtain data is done by observation, interviews and documentation. The findings can be concluded that each State Islamic University (UIN) has its own focus and specificity to appear and contribute to developing Islam Rahmatan Lil amin alamin by striving to formalize Islam and revive the Shari'a. Islamic portraits and religious views of the lecturers strongly agree that PTKIN supports the development of Islam which is rahmatan lil alamin and unites the differences of religion and ethnicity. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fenomena sosial yang hidup, bahan studi penting yang menjadi daya tarik akademik, khususnya ketika agama berhadapan dengan perubahan sosial dan masalah aktual yang harus dijawab oleh Islam. PTKIN sebagai lembaga studi pendidikan Islam dewasa ini telah mendapat respon masyarakat luas dan menjadi fenomena sosial yang menarik untuk diteliti. Masalah mendasar yang menjadi fokus penelitian ini terkait bagaimana dinamika wajah keislaman Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Negeri (PTKIN) dalam konteks perubahan ke Universitas Islam Negeri terutama dengan masuknya tenaga dosen dari beragam latar belakang pendidikan, disiplin dan keragaman organisasi yang menjadi kekuatan baru di Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN). Fokus penelitian ini menarik untuk diteliti terkait pandangan keagamaan dosen UIN yang dibatasi pada para dosen yang mengajar materi keagamaan pada area studi di luar rumpun agama yang terdapat pada tiga Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN), yaitu UIN Ar-Raniry Aceh, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, dan UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Untuk memperoleh data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil temuan dapat disimpulkan bahwa masing- masing Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) memiliki fokus dan kekhususan tersendiri untuk tampil dan berkontribusi mengembangkan Islam Rahmatan Lil ‘alamin dengan berupaya untuk menformalkan Islam dan menghidupkan syariat. Potret Islam dan pandangan keagamaan dosen sangat setuju bahwa PTKIN menunjang pengembangan Islam yang rahmatan lil alamin dan menyatukan perbedaan agama dan suku bangsa

    The purpose of this research is to strengthen national insight and love for the homeland in new students in countering radicalism. The research method uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The results of the study show that the national education model applied to the Campus Life Program for New Students (PKKMB) is designed not with a pattern of indoctrination and upgrading but is dialogical, creative and innovative which is relevant to the character of today's millennial generation. The implementation of activities is classified into two domains; namely the scientific domain (mind) through critical-reflective scientific studies and the non-scientific domain (attitude) which contains elements of creativity, games and art. The conclusion of the study is that the national education model in order to support government policies through the National Action Plan for Combating Extremism (RAN-PE) in an effort to combat terrorism as part of the soft power approach in order to foster a sense of nationalism and love for the homeland among new students, is still a contemporary problem of nationality.     This study aims to discuss the implementation plan of hadith research based on the National Religious Research Agenda at Islamic Religious Higher Education in Indonesia. This research method is qualitative through literature study with policy analysis. The discussion of this research includes strategic issues of Islamic religious research, priority agenda for Islamic religious research, and plans for implementing hadith research in Islamic Higher Education. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of hadith research is a sustainable agenda in implementing compliance with policies towards competitiveness in a distributed global arena for academics at undergraduate, master and doctoral levels in the Islamic Religious Higher Education in Indonesia

Tulisan ini mengkaji sejarah organisasi Al-Jam’iyatul Washliyah di Sumatera Utara dalam konteks kontribusinya dalam membangun peradaban Islam Nusantara terutama dalam bidang pendidikan. Al-Washliyah telah lama memainkan peranan penting bagi kontinuitas tradisi Islam di Indonesia. Secara lebih spesifik, artikel ini memotret gerakan pendidikan Al-Washliyah yang mencakup sejarah, tipologi, eksistensi, dan problematika lembaga-lembaga pendidikannya.     Artikel ini membahas paradigma, perkembangan, serta tantangan kajian sosiologi agama di Indonesia. Kajian Sosiologi Agama di Indonesia yang telah tumbuh di lingkungan Perguruan Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri (PTKIN) di Indonesia, secara epistemologis adalah pengembangan dari Studi Agama-agama (religious studies). Dalam perkembangannya kini, sosiologi agama telah mengukuhkan visi keterbukaan dan keluasan pandangan (openness and broad-mindedness vision) untuk menyapa disiplin ilmu lain dalam mengembangkan studi Islam dan studi agama-agama. Perkembangan itu telah menghasilkan ragam kajian sosiologi agama menjadi tiga karakter menurut paradigma keilmuannya, yaitu; sosiologi agama sebagai bagian dari sosiologi, sosiologi agama sebagai bagian dari studi agama-agama, dan sosiologi agama sebagai bagian dari studi islam. Kini pada peradaban paskaindustrial, kajian sosiologi agama menghadapi tantangan untuk mengeksplorasi berbagai tema sosial keagamaan di Indonesia, diantaranya adalah Globalisasi, Virtual Community, Moderasi Beragama, dan sosiologi keseharian.This article discusses the paradigms, developments and challenges of the sociology of religion in Indonesia. The Study of the Sociology of Religion in Indonesia which has grow up within the State Islamic University (PTKIN in Indonesia, epistemologically is the development of the religious studies. Now the sociology of religion has established a vision of openness and broad-mindedness vision to interact with other disciplines in developing Islamic studies and the study of religions.The dynamics have produced various sociology of religion into three characters according to theirparadigms, namely; the sociology of religion as part of sociology, the sociology of religion as part of the religious studies, and the sociology of religion as part of Islamic studies.     Tulisan ini berusaha memotret carut marut pembelajaran pendidikan agama Islam yang  dipengaruhi oleh filosofi behavioristik mekanistik sehingga melahirkan produk  pembelajaran agama Islam yang cenderung intelektualistik-atomistik dan kurang menjiwa. Melalui pendekatan filosofis, diajukan konsep dalam upaya mengatasi carut marut pelaksanaan PAI melalui konsep spiritualisasi pendidikan agama Islam. Dengan basis filosofis konstruktivisme humanisme teosentris melalui strategi dan metode pelaksanaan yang dapat  mengapresiasi strategi dan metode apapun dengan syarat  dapat mengaktifkan siswa dan siswa sendiri  dapat mengkonstruksi pengetahuannya, semisal Paradigma Pedagogik Reflektif (PPR) yang lebih mengutamakan aktivitas siswa untuk menemukan  dan memaknai pengalamannya sendiri dan Strategi project  based learning  (PBL), suatu strategi pembelajaran kontekstual yang  memberdayakan siswa dengan memberi kesempatan kepadanya untuk berinteraksi secara  langsung dengan masyarakat di luar sekolah melalui magang  kerja sosial. Tulisan ini berusaha memberikan semisal solusi alternatif sembari menyadari keterbatasan kajian penelitiannya sehingga merekomendasikan perlunya penelitian dengan tema yang sama namun dengan lanskap dan pendekatan berbeda untuk menguji akurasi hasil penelitiannya

    This study aims to examine the scientific trend of approach and theme of lecturer\u27s works of STAIN Bengkulu in the field of Islamic law (fiqh) and the scientific position of lecturer\u27s works of STAIN Bengkulu as Muslim intellectuals. This article is using two approaches, namely the conceptual approach and historical approaches, whereas measures of research was conducted by reviewing documentation as primer data and interviewing as sekunder data. The results showed that the scientific trend of approach and theme of lecturer\u27s works of STAIN Bengkulu was consists of three kinds: First, the normative trend of scientific approach and theme in Islamic law. This trend was categorized as “exclusive Muslim intellectualism”. Second, this trend began to expand the discourse of study on fikih, but it was not to integrate with Western scientific approach. This trend was categorized as “inclusive Muslim intellectualism”. Third, this study was more empirical and historical-sociological approach and theme in Islamic law (fikih) so that the discourse was more be able to answer the situation and condition of the people. This trend was categorized as “pluralist Muslim intellectualism”

    Seen in the context of education management, the forms of conflict among pesantren elites caused by various factors, basically have dysfunctional implications on the management of education in pesantren. Conflicts have dysfunctional implications for the management of education, ie within the context of organizational structure, leadership context, the context of management functions, the context of management aspects and the loss of public trust. These five contexts affect each other and relate between one context and another. This study aims to obtain an in-depth picture of conflict resolution and management in pesantren with a qualitative approach. Pesantren has a deep-rooted tradition, namely the power (power) figures kiai in management.     OTORITAS AGAMA ULAMA PEREMPUAN: Studi terhadap Kepemimpinan Fauziah Fauzan di Perguruan Diniyyah Puteri Padang Panjang, Sumatera Barat, Indonesia

    Examining about relationship between religious authorities and gender, this article is focused on portraying the life and career of a female cleric in West Sumatra, contemporary Indonesia. This research was conducted by interviewing and using ethnographic techniques towards the leadership of Fauziah Fauzan, Director of Diniyyah Puteri in Padang Panjang City. The findings of this study indicate that religious knowledge was not the only capital to be a female cleric, while leadership played an important role for the formation of women’s religious authority. By combining his ascribed authority with the ability to lead (leadership), Fauziah’s religious authority gained recognition by the community and the state. The longer experience of general education, compared to the background of his religious education, did not become an obstacle for Fauziah in contesting to obtain the religious authority which has traditionally been dominated by men. Using the two main theories of feminism, namely agency and freedom, as used by Saba Mahmood, this article was not only limited to help to understand how Fauziah’s achievements reflected the experience of a Muslim woman turning herself into an ethical subject and could be a community leader, but also a community leader. Her leadership was an alternative model of how a woman could gain religious authority in a Muslim society which was changing due to modernization
