THE INFLUENCE OF USING ROLE PLAY TOWARDS STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY AT THE EIGHTH GRADE OF MTs RIYADHUL MUBTADI’IEN WAYLIMA PESAWARAN IN 2017/2018 ACADEMIC YEAR
In teaching and learning process in the class there are a lot of students who find
some difficulties in learning English. One of difficulties that the students find in
English teaching learning activity is the low especially of speaking ability. This
research is about the influence of using role play towards students speaking ability
at the eight grade of MTs Riyadhul Mubtadi’ien Way Lima Pesawaran in
2017/2018 academic year. In this research the researcher want to know how well
the eight grade of MTs Riyadhul Mubtadi’ien Way Lima Pesawaran master the
language skills, especially the mastery of speaking.
In this research, methodology of research was qusi experimental design. This
design uses pre-test to find out students’ initial ability before the treatment. The
populatio of this research was eight grade students of MTs Riyadhul Mubtadi’ien
Way Lima Pesawaran. The researcher applied random sampling to determine the
sample. The samples taken were two classes, VIII A and VIII C which consisted
of 60 students in each class. In collecting data, the researcher used instrument in
the form of oral test, performing dialogue. The instrument was used for pre-test
and post-test. After being given post-test, the researcher then analyzed the data.
The result of the research indicates that there is a significant influence of using
role play towards students’ speaking ability at the eight grade of MTs Riyadhul
Mubtadi’ien Way Lima Pesawaran. It is provide by the result of statistical
calculation using t-test formula. It is obtained that Pvalue was 6.12, while the
critical value of tcritical at degree of significant 6.49. Because Ho (Pvalue) is lower
than Ha (Pvalue), the use of using role play towards students’ speaking ability had
significant influence.

THE INFLUENCE OF ARRANGING WORD GAME TOWARDS STUDENTS’ DEGREE OF COMPARISON MASTERY AT THE FIRST SEMESTER OF THE EIGHTH GRADE OF SMP PGRI 6 BANDAR LAMPUNG IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2018/2019
Grammar is one of the most important element in making good sentences in the composition. If mastering English grammar well, we can make a good position. One of the difficulties of students in English grammar is degree of comparison. The students’ degree of comparison in SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung was still low. The objective of this research was to know whether there was influence of arranging word game towards students’ degree of comparison mastery at the first semester of the eighth grade of SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2018/2019.
The methodology of this research was quasi experimental design with five meetings for each class and it consist of one meeting for pretest, three meetings for treatment and one meeting for posttest. In the experimental class the researcher applied arranging word game as treatment and control class, the researcher applied lecturing technique. The population of this research was eighth grade students of SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung. In collecting the data, the researcher used test, the researcher took the sample by using cluster random technique and the researcher determine that VIII H as the experimental class and VIII I as the control class. The researcher used instruments, pre-test and post-test. The instrument of this research was degree of comparison test. After giving the posttest, the researcher analyzed the data by using SPSS to compute independent sample t-test.
After the researcher analyzed the data by using independent sample t-test, it was found that the result of Sig. (2-tailed) of the equal variance was 0.000 < α = 0.05. It means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the computation, it can be concluded that there was influence of arranging word game towards students’ degree of comparison mastery at the first semester of the eighth grade of SMP PGRI 6 Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2018/2019

THE INFLUENCE OF USING JIGSAW TECHNIQUE TOWARDS STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY AT THE SECOND SEMESTER OF THE EIGHTH GRADE OF SMP N 24 BANDAR LAMPUNG IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2017/2018
Vocabulary is very important for people to use language, without vocabulary people cannot develop the language skill namely, listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The students‟ vocabulary mastery at SMP N 24 Bandar Lampung have difficulties in learning vocabulary, it is proven by the score of the students in preliminary research. There were 56.8% of the students who got the score under 72 the KKM. It means that the students‟ vocabulary mastery is still low and need to be increased. To solve the problem, the researcher applied jigsaw technique in teaching vocabulary. Thus, the objective of this research was to know whether there was an influence of using jigsaw technique towards students‟ vocabulary mastery at the second semester of the eighth grade of SMP N 24 Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2017/2018.

The population of this research was eighth grade students of SMP N 24 Bandar Lampung. The total sample in this research was 60 students that were taken from two classes, VIII A and VIII B. In collecting the data, the research used instruments, pre-test and post-test. The instrument of this research was vocabulary test. After giving the post-test, the researcher analyzed the data by using SPSS to compute independent sample t-test.

THE INFLUENCE OF USING BUZZ GROUP TECHNIQUE TOWARDS STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY AT THE FIRST SEMESTER OF THE TENTH GRADE OF SMA N 1 CUKUH BALAK TANGGAMUS IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2018/2019
The aim of the research is to know whether there is an influence of using buzz group
technique towards students’ speaking ability at the first semester of the tenth grade of SMAN
1 Cukuh Balak Tanggamus in the academic year of 2018/2019. Based on the preliminary
research, it showed that the students’ speaking ability at the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Cukuh
Balak Tanggamus were still low. It can be seen from the students’ speaking score which
shows that there were 70% of students who got score under the criteria of minimum mastery.
The criteria of minimum mastery in SMAN 1 CukuhBalak Tanggamus is 70.
In this research, The writer applied quasi experimental design. The population of this
research was the tenth grade of SMAN 1 Cukuh Balak Tanggamus. There were four classes
of 122 students. The writer took the sample by using cluster random sampling technique, the
sample were X MIA 1 as experimental class X MIA 2 as control class. In collecting the data,
the writer used oral test instruction for pre-test and post-test with the topics about describing
people, tourism place and historical place.
After giving the post-test, the writer, then analyzed the data using independent sample t-test
formula. After doing the hypothetical test, it was obtained the result of ttest was 4.9820 and
the result of tcritical with the level of significance 0.05 was 2.00. The criteria to know the
hypotheses is accepted or not, was tobserved higher than tcritical (tobserved> tcritical). From this
statement, it is clear that 4.9820 is higher than 2.00. This result means there is an influence of
using buzz group technique towards students’ speaking ability at the tenth grade of SMAN 1
Cukuh Balak Tanggamu
