A Bastard Jargonâ: Language Politics and Identity in \u3cem\u3eThe Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao\u3c/em\u3e
This essay explores Junot DĂaz\u27s only full-length novel, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, through the theoretical lens of sociolinguistics and examines the ways in which DĂaz has attempted to overcome the publishing industry\u27s complicity in maintaining the nation\u27s ethnocentric expectations in regards to English as the only acceptable language of publication. By introducing the work of several sociolinguists into the discussion, examining the use of African American Vernacular and ânerdishâ alongside the Spanish, and reviewing DĂazâs relationship with his editors, I provide a more nuanced reading of the ubiquitous code-switching throughout Oscar Wao and suggest that beyond creating a simplistic insider-outsider binary, layers of meaning are created for each individual reader
AN ANALYSIS OF LANGUAGE STYLE IN SHORT STORY âCANTERVILLE GHOSTâ BY OSCAR WILDE
MARYAM: AN ANALYSIS OF LANGUAGE STYLE IN SHORT STORY
âCANTERVILLE GHOST BY OSCAR WILDE
Backgrounds of the problem is why the authors are interested in researching
this short story, because under any theory of the author read namely theory
kaharudin. He analyzes the language style in novel Wanita Bersabuk Dua in 2006.
Kaharurudin found in a novel that contained beautiful words and many language
style meanings contained there in. And the author also argues the same with
Kaharudin, because after the author read a short story entitled âCanterville Ghostâ
by âOscar Wilde.â The author also found that contained beautiful words and many
language style meanings in the stories. The overall aim is to analyze the language
style in short story Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde's
The Language based on Keraf Theory language Style is a beautiful language
that is used to enhance three effect by introducing as well as to compare a certain
object with certain object or with object or anything else that is more common.
The writer chooses the library research by use of source data in entitled
Canterville Ghost and with instrument like as Computer, Pen, Stabilo, pencil and
etc. Technique of Analysis data are the writer research Language Style is each of
Canterville Ghost, the writer makes lists the meaning of language style, and the
writer makes some conclusion based on the result of language style in short story
Oscar Wilde was a writer, he was a figure in pride, because he's good at make
poetry, novel and short story. Sir Simon was a ghost his height hair and eye cal
bluish. The author find language style Metaphor, Simile, Rhetorical, Hyperbola,
Personification and Cynism.
After I analyze Iâm found kinds of Language Style in Short Story book
Canterville Ghost are Metaphor, Simile, Rhetorical, Hyperbola, Personification
and Cynism

Active artefact management for distributed software engineering
We describe a software artefact repository that provides its contents with some awareness of their own creation. "Active" artefacts are distinguished from their passive counterparts by their enriched meta-data model which reflects the work-flow process that created them, the actors responsible, the actions taken to change the artefact, and various other pieces of organisational knowledge. This enriched view of an artefact is intended to support re-use of both software and the expertise gained when creating the software. Unlike other organisational knowledge systems, the meta-data is intrinsically part of the artefact and may be populated automatically from sources including existing data-format specific information, user supplied data and records of communication.
Such a system is of increased importance in the world of
"virtual teams" where transmission of vital organisational
knowledge, at best difficult, is further constrained by the
lack of direct contact between engineers and differing development cultures
Access to financial services: the case of the âMzansiâ account in South Africa
The presence of rationing of financial services in the developing countries is a major obstacle to achieving sustainable growth. In recent years there have been co-ordinated efforts to increase the level of financial inclusion, i.e. to reduce the supply-side constraints restricting access to finance. This paper aims to understand householdâs latent behaviour decision making in accessing financial services, by analysing an entry level Mzansi account in South Africa. The willingness to access financial services is not taken as given, but it is instead defined by perceptions and attitudes. The Mzansi intervention is appealing to individuals with basic but insufficient financial education. Aspirations seem to be very influential in revealing the choice of financial services and to this end, Mzansi is perceived as a pre-entry account not meeting the aspirations of individuals aiming to climb up the financial services ladder

Deformations of infrared-conformal theories in two dimensions
We study two exactly solvable two-dimensional conformal models, the critical
Ising model and the Sommerfield model, on the lattice. We show that finite-size
effects are important and depend on the aspect ratio of the lattice. In
particular, we demonstrate how to obtain the correct massless behavior from an
infinite tower of finite-size-induced masses and show that it is necessary to
first take the cylindrical geometry limit in order to get correct results. In
the Sommerfield model we also introduce a mass deformation to measure the mass
anomalous dimension, . We find that the explicit scale breaking of
the lattice setup induces corrections which must be taken into account in order
to reproduce at the infrared fixed point. These results can be used
to improve the methodology in the search for the conformal window in QCD-like
theories with many flavors.Comment: 7 pages, 2 figures. Talk presented at the 32nd International

SZZ Unleashed: An Open Implementation of the SZZ Algorithm -- Featuring Example Usage in a Study of Just-in-Time Bug Prediction for the Jenkins Project
Numerous empirical software engineering studies rely on detailed information
about bugs. While issue trackers often contain information about when bugs were
fixed, details about when they were introduced to the system are often absent.
As a remedy, researchers often rely on the SZZ algorithm as a heuristic
approach to identify bug-introducing software changes. Unfortunately, as
reported in a recent systematic literature review, few researchers have made
their SZZ implementations publicly available. Consequently, there is a risk
that research effort is wasted as new projects based on SZZ output need to
initially reimplement the approach. Furthermore, there is a risk that newly
developed (closed source) SZZ implementations have not been properly tested,
thus conducting research based on their output might introduce threats to
validity. We present SZZ Unleashed, an open implementation of the SZZ algorithm
for git repositories. This paper describes our implementation along with a
usage example for the Jenkins project, and conclude with an illustrative study
on just-in-time bug prediction. We hope to continue evolving SZZ Unleashed on
GitHub, and warmly invite the community to contribute
