The Indian agricultural sector is leveraging the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to disseminate the right information at the right time. The cost factor in face-to-face information dissemination and the difficulties in reaching the target audiences have necessitated the introduction of ICT in agriculture. This article discusses the different models related to ICT in Indian agriculture like, Kisan call centers, The Gyandoot project, Bhoomi project, Village knowledge centers, and AGMARKNET. Pengaruh Pembelajaran Berbasis Information and Communication Technology (ICT) terhadap Hasil Belajar Geometri Peserta Didik Kelas X SMK Kebangsaan Indonesia Maros

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik kelas X SMK Kebangsaan Indonesia Maros pada materi geometri yakni 30 peserta didik (51,72%) dari 58 peserta didik yang belum memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM) yang telah ditentukan yaitu 75. Peserta didik masih kesulitan memvisualisasikan dan mengeksplorasi bangun tiga dimensi dikarenakan mereka hanya menghafal karakteristik bangun tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh hasil belajar peserta didik setelah diajar dengan menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis Information and Communication Technology (ICT) dalam hal ini aplikasi geogebra pada materi geometri. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X SMK Kebangsaan Indonesia Maros. Sampel diambil sebanyak 26 orang dari 58 peserta didik dengan menggunakan teknik sampling purposive. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes hasil belajar dalam hal ini yang dinilai adalah aspek pengetahuan. Pengujian prasyarat analisis menggunakan uji normalitas. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah Paired Sample t-test. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai Pretest 42,73 dengan standar deviasi 8,784 sedangkan rata-rata nilai Posttest 81,61 dengan standar deviasi 6,788. Rata-rata skor gain ternormalisasi 0,69 dari data hasil belajar termasuk kategori sedang. Berdasarkan Uji-t, diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 < dari yaitu 0,025 yang berarti ada pengaruh hasil belajar matematika peserta didik setelah diajar menggunakan pembelajaran berbasis Information and Communcation Technology (ICT) pada materi geometri, tes akhir juga memperlihatkan bahwa 23 dari 26 peserta didik (88,46%) telah mencapai KKM mata pelajaran matematika di SMK Kebangsaan Indonesia Maros

Impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on construction projects

The changing face of construction projects has resulted in a movement towards the use of technology as a primary means of communication. The consequences of this rise in the use of information and communication technology (ICT) is a loss of interpersonal communication skills. A number of resulting issues within the human – electronic and human – human interfaces are identified in an attempt to define the efficiency of communication in projects. The research shows how ICT effects the social environment of construction project teams and the project outcome. The study seeks to confirm the need for further work in order to develop new forms of communication protocols and behaviour. An initial literature review was undertaken to develop a theoretical review of the impacts of ICT on construction project teams. This review identified a number of issues that were then tested in the field through an observation and two verification interviews. The research confirms the existence of tensions and conflicts in the human – electronic and human - human communication interfaces within the studies environment. It is proposed that the increasing use of ICT occur at the expense of soft system communication. The principal impact of this is a form of ‘human distraction’ which adversely affects the performance of project teams. There is limited theory exploring these issues that suggests the problems identified are not well understood and consequently indicates a gap in knowledge

Contribution of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Country’S H-Index

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) development on country’s scientific ranking as measured by H-index. Moreover, this study applies ICT development sub-indices including ICT Use, ICT Access and ICT skill to find the distinct effect of these sub-indices on country’s H-index. To this purpose, required data for the panel of 14 Middle East countries over the period 1995 to 2009 is collected. Findings of the current study show that ICT development increases the H-index of the sample countries. The results also indicate that ICT Use and ICT Skill sub-indices positively contribute to higher H-index but the effect of ICT access on country’s H-index is not clear
